And that is what is making you look scummy to me. maybe if you posted your thoughts on what was happening, or were at least active in some way it would convince me differently. Also, that is not a very good defense to try and make yourself not look scummy...

It's day two and we are two townies down. It very much seems that the town still has no solid evidence as to who is scum and are still trying to find something and this is where we are moving to inactivity and start to point fingers at people, and it's not always the case that it means they're scum. I don't know who to point my finger at because I don't see anyone who could be scum probably apart from the people who voted to lynch on day 1 but that's about it, and there were about 6 people who voted for him and at the end of the day there were two: Rafay and Damios. However if some of the scum were voting, I'd assume they would follow the no lynch pattern to not have themselves exposed.

My defence wasn't there to convince you or the town either, it was an explanation as to why. I'm not going to convince to you that I'm a townie, it's up for you to decide.

Just pointing out that Rafay has 2 votes on him, you seemed to miss that...

I would also like note that if I hadn't pushed for a no-lynch yesterday, we'd be 3 townies down, not just 2.

I'm thinking that at least one of the people who voted for JohnGato is scum. First, JohnGato has been confirmed as townie. The scum, obviously, would have known this before the rest of us. It came down to three spots left. Which means, in a game where we have three or four scum, they could have sealed the deal right there. If it is a three scum game then JohnGato's survival until the night phase is explained by not having enough guns, only two players left at that point. If we're dealing with a four scum team it is even more probable that there was at least one scum already in that pile. It is the only objectively scummy information I think we have at this point. Of course they could have just chose not to do it. However, in a pile on that quick with so many people to point fingers at, it probably would have been a safe bet. I realize both scenarios are a bit shaky, but even if I am wrong JohnGato is still a townie and those people attempted to put him to death. I'd bet at least one scum jumped in the bandwagon.

Therefore, I'll be lynching either Rafay or OrangeRush7.
Rafay claimed that we might as well get this over with quickly when he voted. There is a way to spin everything, but I see this in one of two lights. Either he genuinely feels that way, and that is a severely unhelpful attitude for the town. Or he was trying to pull in more mob votes on JohnGato by treating it like a foregone conclusion. I find neither to be pro-town.
OrangeRush7 would be my far away number two, he voted and claimed we might as well lynch him. I don't think that is a very strong position. I don't think it should ever come to just that.

I'd like to hear a bit more about how other people are feeling about Rafay before voting. Last time he seemed scummy and we all told ourselves it couldn't be true. I think this time he has been objectively scummy and I don't want to make that mistake again.

Regarding Rafay (or really anyone else for that matter), I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume that they play, like me, the same whether I'm scum or townie.

That said, the fact remains that he did vote to lynch a now-known townie so he's under inscreased suspicion in my book.

In the end there were only 3 votes placed on people: one placed on Kevin by nerau and two on johngato by daimos and Rafay so it was not just rafay it was quite a bit of us to just look at Refay is wrong.

BeeBs correctly points out that if they were all townies, then the mafia could have piled on and forced the lynch. I'm sure there are some misguided townies in the mix, too, but it would have been to the mafia's benefit to have JohnGato lynched.

Since no-lynch appears not to have popularity, I'll vote according to my previous scientific analysis.

ok...i see that apparently no one cares about the inactive people, so i guess that will have to wait until later...since no one cares about those, i think the next best place to try and find scum is to look at the votes like Beebs is saying. although i'm not so sure about his prediction of rayfay and orange. i think the scum would have waited a little to join in on the vote, but not waited too long, so i'll go with Kevin and

I don't mean to downplay the involvement of those players in the slightest. However, the prevailing D1 wisdom was to lynch and inactive, which is probably the best place to start on D1. Rafay and OrangeRush both seemed to have other motivations, although OrangeRush to a much lesser degree. He more or less towed the line.

I'll cite my previously mentioned reasons. Suffice to restate: (1) the comment on his JohnGato vote is quite suspect; (2) he voted for a known townie; and (3) his voting pattern is erratic. Last time I gave these indications the benefit of the doubt and it was a mistake.

I think the point is that we can look at the vote after the fact.

If JohnGato had been shown to be scum then all those that voted for him would be getting credit as pro-town players -- assumption being that the scum would not want to lynch one of their own.

Certainly, the townies don't know beforehand (usually) whether the lynch candidate is scum or not, but the scum do know, and we can use the results to make future decisions about lynching.
