Hilary wasn't lying about sniper fire :P

Donald Trump? The crowd is roaring....with laughter! Next thing you know, Ronald McDonald is in on the clown bus too.

On a more serious note, he is just going to take space from candidates perceived to be more serious.

GOP needs to wind this down from a royal rumble to a more reasonable number of contenders. Too many divisions in resources isn't helpful after a certain point.

Also, do we actually have a politician who doesn't lie?

I was just as surprised as everybody else. He has talked about running for decades, but no one thought he was serious enough to take a chance at losing. Trump will not be patient enough to earn trust. He will burn everyone to the ground to win. The best thing that can happen is to let him piss off enough people that he can't stay in the top ten, and maybe he'll pull out because he can't get his way. Donald Trump may well be the President we need most. Someone that gets things done rather than give lip service and enrich their friends. But I don't think he will do well with the getting elected part, and my fear is he will destroy everyone else that is running for the job on his way down. This is what can really hurt us Republicans. I feel Ross Perot all over again... but this time on steroids.

Oh yeah I almost forgot the second part... yes, if Hillary's mouth is moving, she's lying.

Donald Trump is already losing the election and he only just recently made it public that he intends to run. His Mexico rants and various other beliefs will just make him more of a laughing stock. We all know Trump is a joke anyway - remember his statements that Obama wasn't really an American and insisted on seeing his birth certificate? He likes to divert attention from important matters. Imagine him running the US.

I think Oprah Winfrey should run for President. At least then every American can get something out of the deal, she likes to give freebies out to everyone.

On a more serious note, I think Clinton would win the election, or at least have a very strong chance of being elected VP, that's if the Republicans don't have good candidates. If I was an American I would vote for Clinton. Once again the public's attention is diverted from important issues and the focus is unimportant things such as deleted e-mails... Her husband was President, she is/was a Senator and she was Secretary of State. She already has more experience than anyone else. I don't think Americans realize just how influential she is in the world. I bet she has every Head of State and every important person in the world in her phone book. In a time when US foreign policy is misdirected and the US image is tarnished a skilled diplomat is what's required. There's no one else currently in the running who has a better chance of fixing things than Clinton. I'm obviously speaking purely of foreign policy - I'm not really aware of her track record on local issues such as taxes, which Americans place a lot of emphasis on.

From a foreigners perspective, this is what the US have to do in the coming years, and obviously they need a President that can achieve this:

Reduce their deficit. Stop spending so much money.

Create a strong middle class.

Improve education (with all of the infrastructure and resources that schools in the US have - something is really off with their curriculum).

Improve foreign relations. Stop getting involved in wars and conflicts. Focus on your own livelihoods and don't get involved in the internal affairs of foreign countries.

Make nice with Russia and China. We don't want a second Cold War, which is already starting. There's no reason why 3 superpowers cannot co-exist.

In general: they should stop being the 'bully' in the story and force their own beliefs and ways of doing things onto others.

Looking at your list of goals... the only one that is running that would check all those boxes is Rand Paul. He's pretty much already lost because of some of those boxes. Hillary Clinton is a deceitful, frightened, and useless bag of gas, and the only people in her phone book are donors. I'm very happy you joined us here in IRON... I'm also very happy you won't be voting here in the USA. :)

Well, there's nothing that says American capitalism more than political donors. If a Republican wins the election then I would not be surprised to see the US at war with who knows who in 2016 - 2019. The sole reason I would never support a Republican is because of their conservative views that usually include "Death to enemies of America!". You're right though, I cannot vote in the US election nor would I want to - so my views are nothing more than that, a view.

Nothing says American Capitalism more than everyone working and earning a living. Under the incompetence of Barack Obama, we now have about a hundred million people out of the workforce, and about 50 million people on foodstamps. Now we see what he meant about "making history".

You seem to believe that because G.W. Bush took us to war after 9-11 that only Republicans get us into wars. The country demanded we go to war after 9-11, and if W didn't take us to war he would have faced a very angry US population. Republicans avoid war by creating the most powerful military and keeping other powers in check so they will not overstep. It's Democrats that take us to war my friend... World War I, Woodrow Wilson, Democrat. World War II, Franklin Roosevelt, Democrat. Korean War, Harry Truman, Democrat. Viet Nam, Lyndon Johnson, Democrat. That's a lot of war that could have been avoided with a strong military and early US intervention.

If China takes care of China it does not bother me. China is attacking our economic infrastructure... we have to deal with it.

Putin is doing what he's doing because he knows Obama is a pussy.

We need to elect the biggest badass we can come up with to deal with these issues... and it's not Hillary Clinton.

I believe my statement was: "The sole reason I would never support a Republican is because of their conservative views that usually include "Death to enemies of America!" which is sort of what you just state yourself. Republicans use military authority and force and 'bully' other countries and people to enforce their foreign policy - which is why every region the US Armed Forces have been active in is a mess. You will not solve today's problems with another Republican - that is my point.

Regarding your list of Presidents who have deployed soldiers overseas - I will remove WWI and WWII from that list as any President would have gotten involved in the World Wars sooner or later. But to look at the Republican list, 1. Iraq 2. Afghanistan 3. Gulf War 4. Panama 5. Grenada 6. Lebanon. This is also a big number of wars/conflicts that Republicans got involved in. So your statement that Republicans avoid war by bullying isn't really true.

" China is attacking our economic infrastructure " China is not attacking the US economic infrastructure. China may have copied some things and sell it for cheap, but that's hardly an attack. They're competing in the world economy and the US cannot keep up. This is what we call American arrogance. Your entire stance gives that away immediately. You also have the typical view that if it's not for-America, it's immediately against-America. Any country is free to participate in the world economy. China managed to create products for cheap (and we can go into living standards, workers' compensation etc. but that's really not the point), China manages to export a lot more products than the US anticipated and China is investing in many countries, many in Africa, which are resource-rich. The US isn't capable/isn't willing to invest so much money in impoverished countries. I see this as pure jealousy and nothing more.

Our intentions are obviously not to offend one another but to have a healthy debate so I hope there are no hard feelings.

But in all seriousness, why does everyone hate Hillary so bad right now? Last time she ran, everyone loved the shit out of her. Is it just because she tends to exaggerate a bit?

The last time she ran everyone loved her so much they voted for the first half-term Senator to step up a challenge. A 70 year old Socialist from Vermont is making her look so loved she has to rope off anyone that will ask a question. Wait until she is forced to face a real press grilling or a debate with a battle tested opponent. She'll lie four times in every sentence and think she can get away with it the same way she skated through her entire life... the wife of Bill Clinton... it's not a qualification.

What about her work as Secretary of State? I know she got a lot of bad rep because of the Benghazi attacks, but in all honesty that was a collective administration blunder and she was scapegoated. She did good work representing the US and she was very dedicated to her job, at least that's my perspective. Obviously I view it from an outside perspective - you might have a completely different view since you are her constituent or she is at least responsible to you so you might have a completely different point of view.

"What about her work as Secretary of State?"

She never did the job. All she wanted was the title to add to her resume. There is not a single improved relationship on the planet because of Hillary Clinton. I will love hearing her try to embellish how important she was by saying things like, "I was in the room when..."

I may hate everything John Kerry is doing as SoS, but at least he has taken the job seriously. I gotta give him that.

Kerry is probably the best SoS US has had in years. Too bad AIPAC seems to have more power than US SoS.

So Donald Trump seems to be leading the race at this point in time.

You can indulge in the hilarity  here:

Name recognition is doing a lot for Trump right now, plus everyone believed he would do exactly what he has done since the 80's and keep saying he might run until he never did. So no one has ever taken him seriously... until he actually is running. Getting 15% support isn't hard when you have a name like Donald. He is one of the most successful businessmen in American history. What you have to pay attention to is that including second choice he gets 27% out of 16 candidates. That's huge.

I said before that Donald Trump may be the President that the USA needs, but there are a lot of people that don't like him. Why? Because he's rich, doesn't care if everyone likes him, and he's totally full of himself. If you made 10 billion dollars all by yourself... you would be too. If he can go into these debates and make sense, as he's burning everyone else down on the stage, he'll get traction... and there will be no stopping him. He'll burn through all the Republicans... and the Democrats, including Hillary, will turn into dog chowder.

What scares me about this is if he doesn't do well enough to earn the nomination, and then runs third party because he can't take losing. He takes 20% of the vote and Hillary is President with 43% of the vote... just like her husband. But I do believe when it comes down to the line... Trump is smart enough not to be the one that gives us Clinton. If he wins the Republican nomination, I will support him. He's an awesome leader, that gets things done.

Him being Republican candidate means all the Hispanic and remaining liberal vote goes to Hillary.

Him being independent means he overlaps and splits alot of Republican vote.

Both scenarios lead to Hillary being your next President.

And that is the big problem with Trump, he could win the race to candidacy, but not the Whitehouse, and while on his way, he'll wreck Republicans more than anyone else.

He is the best weapon Democrats could dream of.

I would say Trump would get about the same Hispanic vote as Mitt Romney. What you forget is Hillary will not get the same Black vote as Barack Obama. The Blacks have no love for the Hispanics. I really hate all this division and separating people off in racial, economic, and gender blocks. It does not promote a united country, but that's what Democrats love to do. It keeps people angry.

With Trump we're getting into untested ground. He's not your text book Republican... he's a businessman. He has donated millions to Democrats through the years, as well as Republicans. If they attack him for being rich, he will not do what Mitt did. Mitt tried to downplay his success. He would wear blue jeans and a shirt with no tie, roll up the sleaves and try to be someone he's not. You will never see Trump wearing anything but a suit... and a tie that cost more than others make in a week. If someone tries to attack Trump for being rich... he will say "I'm richer than you think I am". Trump has 50 times the wealth of Mitt Romney.

Hillary will arrive in a black windowed SUV... Trump will arrive in a helicopter with his name on it. I can drive 5 miles down the road and there is a 64 story building with his name on top. Trump would run the USA like his own company, he doesn't understand second place... and prosperity and profit would come to any American taking part. It's hard to imagine that the USA can set aside their programming and support a man that has made so much, and made so many right decisions... but if you don't support success, then you support failure.
