Cybernations Mafia

Only the following roles may exist in this game:

Vanilla Townie, Bodyguard, Commuter, Sane Cop, Role Cop, Vanilla Cop, Flavor Cop, Doctor, Friendly Neighbor, Follower, Gunsmith, Innocent Child, Jack of All Trades, Jailkeeper, Mafia Goon, Mafia Encryptor, Mafia Godfather, Mafia Ninja, Mafia Strongman, Mafia Traitor, Mason, Miller, Motion Detector, Neapolitan, Neighbor, Neighborizer, Nurse, Roleblocker, Rolestopper, Serial Killer, Tracker, Universal Backup, Vigilante, Voyeur, Watcher

The following modifiers may also exist in this game:

Assigned character names are various alliances from Cybernations. Ignore all current Cybernations foreign relations. The current treaty web has no bearing on the assigned characters. Alliances were randomly assigned as "good" or "bad" roles so one's personal opinion of an alliance will not necessarily translate to this game.

The problem with your strategy is that there has to be mass role claims on D2 to identify that scum, which I am pretty sure is not allowed.

I didn't say we're supposed to tell who we are, did I? All I asked was that we organize our targets for checking. How is suddenly checking (in your case) Robert a much worse option than for instance Roq? Would you like for instance to know who was the target of a weak townie that died at night? You won't know if you don't organize it.

All I'm hearing is that organizing is not ideal. Let's assume everyone knows it, alright? Now please tell me why choosing targets at random is better.

Edit: Just bolding important part, because that something you're all picking while it was not part of the plan.

Hmm, that sounds pretty reasonable. :P But I don't know, sometimes going on a hunch or checking one of your own suspects might pay off more.

Has this ever been tried in any of the games you guys played?

I'll quote myself again because strangely some of you covered it with noise (I'm looking at you: Lyner aka "Always a scum", Rafay, KevinH and Finster  <_< )

To get things into serious direction: we could do no rolling on the first day (because it seems random) and do organized sweep (person no1 checks person no2, while it checks person no3, while it checks person no4, etc...) to see if we can find something about the scums that want to overthrow our hegemony.

The only thing is that with all the holes (townies with no power role or no ability to check other people) it will be just as effective as people going off their hunches and targeting whoever they want/feel is scummy.  :emot-psyduck:

I'm a noob with boobs (see what I did? Seventh grade humor) and think Samus is a hottie, so there you go.

How are you supposed to figure anything at all out on day one? It seems like you just have to take a wildass guess and hope for the best. I'm not prepared to finger anyone just yet unless someone can give me good reason to. I suppose inactivity is a reason, but is it a good one? On the other hand won't a mobster WANT to lynch someone right away? So does that make the enthusiastic lynch movers suspicious?

That was supposed to say lynch mobbers, but I can't go back and edit.

You can finger me. I'd be more than okay with that. Is that reason enough?  :rainbowsheep:  :3910290200_9284e0754f_o:

They are getting hasty for a vote. They will jump around. The main thing is Imran likes to get on the bandwagon early/start it, so he can use his defense of "I was the first/second person, I'm not bandwagoning excuse."

You guys are still holding my last game against me...because I outfoxed you all..lol. No I am not scum..in fact I have hardly ever been scum. Most of the games I played in has been as an innocent townie and you can go back and check that I never vote no lynch. Its boring and stoopid. We need to get lynching fast so we have bandwagons to analyze in later days. No lynching strategy is over reliant on the cop with all other townies sitting around sucking their thumb and hope that someone finds something useful at night. I like a more pro-active approach. Where is the Mango when you need him. He would have backed me up.

Holding past games against people is silly. If you can establish a play style (or a variance in it based on scum/town) then cool. Otherwise leave whats in the past there in the past.

Also to be fair though Imran...... You were an SK in my game.  :smug:

Imran is scum. And no, i'm not holding your past games against you.

I'm holding your posting behaviour which coincides with your scummy nature of your last game.

But of course, we see you already proving your innocence.

Also I agree with day 1 lynches, don't agree with lynching active players on day 1 without probable cause

If scum know the plan, they can work it to their favor.

An example would be choosing which of the scum would deliver the kill.

We had a game where everybody had a kill and as scum, I put forth a plan that would have been sound except that I was able to manipulate targeting so that the townies killed each other.

Ali bin Turban's plan could very well be that of a scum that likes the way the players are arranged.

This, nuff said

Organizing works better in a game where we know for certain what roles are available

All these votes. :P But are we lynching someone today or not?

If we do, who will be the target? The most inactive one?

I don't like either of these post. Why are we so pushy for a vote?

Mafia is a game of voting bruh

Yeah, but you shouldn't be pushing just to vote. You want to target scum, not get a vote in by the end of the day.

When did I "push" for a vote? we're discussing on how the town should proceed instead of complaining without suggesting any concrete plan for the town ;)

I haven't even voted anyone, and ironically you're the one who passively push for a Samus kill :P

Do you know of any game when scums were to afraid to make a night kill when investigating was random?

Yo cant manipulate targeting here - there's a list made by TW.

Still none of you have made any propositions what to do. All I hear is scum talk "that won't do any good, lets do nothing".

Personally, I favour a no Lynch on D1. It's simple maths of probability.

I don't agree with lynching inactive unless a replacement option has been exhausted. Last game, we killed a cop I believe.

Vote: No Lynch.

For those pushing for a Lynch on D1: Based on what exactly? No one is going to role claim, no one has used ability to gather information. It's all he said, she said on practically nothing. D1 is all noise. Scum knows who they are and so have information advantage on d1 to push a narrative or capitalise on mistake on townies and bandwagon.

The problem with your strategy is that there has to be mass role claims on D2 to identify that scum, which I am pretty sure is not allowed.

There's more problems with your strategy.

1. TW is using similar role modifiers from kevins last game. Which means there may be odd/even night power abilities and/or X-shot power abilities. Not everyone can probably use their ability on N1 and if some people have x-shot ability it will be very unwise of them to use it up for almost no reason.

2. Some townie power abilities are protective and some are investigative. The protective ones should be used on who they think are most townie (i.e. who are actively scum hunting and trying to make sure the town wins), while the investigative abilities should be used on those who look suspicious or are scummy.

So just putting up a strategy where A uses his power on on B and B uses his power on C is not a good idea. But that does not mean they should use their powers randomly. They need to look at the posts and actions of players of D1 and decide who to protect/investigate. This has a better chance of us getting some concrete info that can be used in the later days,

3. And of course, as has already been pointed out, this strategy is bound to fail because scum will know exactly who is using their ability on whom and can plan their night actions accordingly.

So imo, night actions should be left at the discretion of the individual townie power roles. They decide who they want to protect/investigate. The scum will not know who is getting investigated and who will be protected and they also have to throw a kill by basically closing their eyes and praying hard that they are not watched/tracked or investigated or their target protected.

Now, to come back to strategy that should be used on D1, I agree that actives should not be lynched. Inactives should also not be lynched, because they may be replaced if they are too inactive. So who gets the chop..the lurkers. These are the people who are not inactive but also are not posting much. It becomes extremely hard to get a read on who may be scum on later days when players dont post and there is nothing to be analysed. So lets put [ressure on the lurkers in terms of votes until they start posting more and when they do, move on to the next one.

I will take another look at this game and try to find a list of lurkers so far in this game.

I'm tired as shit, and super sore.

I'm going to do this for now. Though seems nothing substantail has really happened anyways.

Unvote

Btw, I remember my orginal nation having alluminium and Urainium as a resource. It was easy for me to get a trade circle.

So who gets the chop..the lurkers.

The lurkers are usually NOT mafia though.

Mafia tend to be super active (since there are only a very few amount of them 3-5 usually), they are generally active swaying the wagons to their causes.

Couldn't have said it better. Killing of lurkers is the best strategy for mafia. A defenseless townie is lynched and no one can be blamed.

Some are. Many scum choose to play by being just active enough to not be "lurking" but don't actually add anything of benefit to the conversation. Others choose to play by not posting anything, and claiming some outside force causing inactivity, so that way they can avoid drawing any suspicion.

Killing people who are hiding and not adding to the conversation in any meaningful way and are therefore able to avoid suspicion, is a bad strategy for the town? Yes lets kill all the active people who are participating in the discussion. Definitely a good plan.

I never said that. But I'm against reducing townies. 2 kills in 1 round is not good for the town.....

much agreed.

reminder that Imran is scum.

Day two always bring more excitement, however how we chose to head into day two will be the discussion of the excitement. Pushing for a lynch just to lynch is not helpful. lynches should only be done to gather evidence or to make a statement.
