Finally I don't have to be against Imran at the start!

I am not getting the scum vibe from you in this game........yet

Lets put pressure on Fermion to post more.

Vote: Fermion

Kevin mentioned two posts before yours that Fermion had requested a replacement so pressuring him to post more may not work. :P

To be fair Rhizo. You've been scum 100%  of the time so far =p

Hey, he was only scum once. He was the SK the second time.

Analyzing what we've seen so far, Whitebeard's posts have stood out the most in terms of feeling scummy to me.

The following two posts of his raised flags in particular:

http://ironcentral.org/community/topic/57112-kh-12-sharing-is-caring-mafia-day-1/?p=857087

http://ironcentral.org/community/topic/57112-kh-12-sharing-is-caring-mafia-day-1/?p=857177

ABT presented several realistic scenarios about the lynch vs no lynch debate that seem to make sense for the most part. Whitebeard then posted saying that after looking at the scenarios he believed that no lynch was the best course of action when ABT's analysis basically indicates the opposite. It could very well just be that Whitebeard is new but the responses seemed odd.

At this point I'm getting the following reads:

  • Ali bin Turban - Town
  • Chaplain of death - Unsure
  • Fermion - Leaning towards scum
  • Imran Ehsan - Leaning towards town
  • iSocialism - Needs to post more
  • King Hitler - Leaning towards town
  • Lyner - Needs to post more
  • Mandarijn - Leaning towards town
  • Rafay - Needs to post more
  • Rhizoctonia - Town
  • Robert2424 - Really needs to post more
  • The Warrior - Town
  • Whitebeard - Leaning towards scum

If iSoc and Rafay are town they really need to actively join the strategy discussion so that we can figure out the best course of action. It'd be nice to hear more of Lyner's thoughts as well. I really just think that Robert's lack of posting is due to inactivity but he either needs to be pinged or replaced. We need input from everyone.

Vote: Robert

Pressure on Robert it is. Better a vanilla than a power role

How do you know Robert is a Vanilla and not a power role?

Kevin mentioned two posts before yours that Fermion had requested a replacement so pressuring him to post more may not work. :P

Well mod also mentioned he will continue until a replacement is found. So he should post more to clear his name (or implicate himself further ;) ) before he is replaced.

Let's not jump to conclusions about Whitebeard. It's his first mafia play and I don't think he fully understands yet how to play it (it's my second game and I don't fully understand it too :P). So far it's rather a matter of personal behavior than anything else.

Also all lynch or no-lynch debate always seem to be a personal preference. Some people do like it, some don't (even if it's beneficial for the town). I don't think scums would fight at all cost to force no-lynch on the first day.

Current suspicion might be a good starting point for some actions in the future, but for now I think we have a big chance of hitting a rookie that's just learning the ropes.

Also TW, I don't know if you're town. Leave it for others to decide ;).

Finally onto Rafay, I think he's a rational person. He's maximizing his gains and choosing the tactic that benefit's him while requiring the least effort. He's an ideal model player for the purpose of game theory...and I'm just a balancing factor that pushes him into finding Nash Equilibrium between personal and town gains .

Wow. Is that a compliment from my biggest critic. Thank you for the kind words sir.

That's not a compliment. I'm just making myself clear  ;)  . I don't think you're bad player. I think you're rational player who uses not-so-good-for-the-town tactic because it benefits you and you can get away with it. I'd still like to help you find Nash Equilibrium (and that means lynching you :D ).

I'm also curious, what did you have on your mind when making post no #126.

And finally where's Lyner? I was seeing him reading but he did no posting. I'm sure he has interesting things to say but for some reason he's shy :P .

Well mod also mentioned he will continue until a replacement is found. So he should post more to clear his name (or implicate himself further ;) ) before he is replaced.

Right. I just meant that if he's getting replaced he probably won't be too motivated to post.

His responses could very well just be those of a new player and that's why I haven't re-cast my vote for him yet. I'm just saying that they did raise the suspicion flags a little bit.

You are free to draw your own conclusions about me of course, but I don't need others to tell me that I'm town. I saw my role PM. ;)

I'm not that interested with day 1, spare me :P

We've done pretty good IMO(7 pages), opinions are divided, no major wagon is formed, I think this is enough informations for the cop

If anything I'd recommend people to use the vote, if you don't find anyone scummy then vote No Lynch, otherwise pick a target please

We're five days out from the deadline. Does anyone have a suggestion for strategy that hasn't been made up to this point or anything to add to any of the other discussions?

At this point in time we have six people who have standing votes for a day 1 lynch, four people who have voted no lynch, and three of us who have yet to vote one way or the other. If we are choosing to lynch, we should probably start figuring out the best way to consolidate that vote to at least get us to the 4 votes necessary to lynch.

Current Votes:

-Imran seems reasonably sure that Fermion might be scum and COD seems to agree.

-Mandarijn and Rafay have both voted for Robert. Correct me if I'm wrong but are those both votes because of inactivity?

-The other two votes (ABT voting for Rafay and iSoc voting for Imran) both seem to be based off of behaviors from other games.

The votes for Fermion seem to be based more off of habits in this game rather than being based off of inactivity or other games. If we choose to lynch and need to consolidate our votes for a lynch, this might be the best way to go.

Personally, I would still like to hear more from Whitebeard and Lyner as well.

I'm not that interested with day 1, spare me :P

It won't get better on day 2, so get interested:P

vote Fermion

I don't really know, but let's say I trust you for now Imran.

My vote was more activity prodding than because i suspect him being scum this early.

unvote

There was suspicion though. And ill likely still vote that way if that's what we decide to do.

(Ooc: so much going on lately, losing track of what's going on with these long day phases lol)

Fine :P

Since Imran is insisting, let's see what he got

Vote: Fermion

If Imran is correct on his hunch(he guessed correctly on the last game :P) then we got a confirmed town and a dead scum here

Scum will not try to bus his friend this early in the game so people that voted early and didn't change his vote in the wagon should be given townie points

There is also a risk that Fermion is town, but this is still a good info for the power role than nothing at all

It's 3 against 10 for scum, it'd be risky for them to get attention this early in the game

I propose 3 options for today:

1. We go for Fermion

2. We go for no lynch

3. Someone starts another crusade on another person

Scum party will be in a quandary. If Fermion is scum they can't really sacrifice him on d1. If he is town they don't want to be seen Wagoning in on a townie lynch. So I am interested to see how this unfolds. Watcha gonna do my scum friends? :) if you mysteriously go inactive without taking a stand I will have my eyes on you.

@kevin - do scum have day talk in this game?

The mafia team does not have day talk.

I know that Fermion has requested a replacement but Kevin did say that he would continue to play until a replacement is found. We haven't seen him again yet even though he is active in other areas (including spam forums).

Vote: Fermion

Active is a big stretch with two posts, non? When I'm active, and have time, I usually post a bunch, not in just a few threads. My inactivity and hence the inability to keep up with the games due to some RL commitments is the reason why I requested a replacement.

I'll address the issues as much as I can later today, in an hour or two.

I'm typing this on a mobile so no quotes

Re: Fermion is just bandwagonning

I didn't. When I first posted and voted for no Lynch everyone was trying to bandwagon on someone just because their play style didn't suit them. I thought this was wrong and posted as much, along with the reason for no Lynch.

Re: Me acting scummy by trying to frame Ali.

I wasn't framing him, just posting my thoughts on a player. This is how I think. I consider all the sides of the story, all the ways that an action can be interpreted, and post my interpretations just in case I get killed. In the end, Ali's post looked pro town to me. His probabilities were accurate (I calculated, lol) and he was putting a lot effort into strategising even if I didn't agree with that particular one (the reason for which was given in my other second last post)

Re: Fermion is repeating what is said.

Well, i was the first one to advocate no Lynch, when all others were voting for arbitrary reasons. Then for the strategy, Mandarijn' strategy of letting the cop come out on day 2 seemed good enough to me, since in the previous game I played the cop car was killed early and could provide nothing of substance. Mandarijn's strategy ensured that that scenario had low chance of happening. Afterwards people started voting for stuff like not active enough and everything again. In another mafia (cybernations) Kevin advocated a similar lynch and killed a power role. This doesn't help us at all, but since Rhizo had already made a long post about why no Lynch was better, I just made a small post in agreement and what was the extent to which that strategy benefitted us.

Re: Not participating in strategising

I put my two cents in earlier after mandarijn's and posted my thoughts on lynch/no Lynch strategy, after that I got busy and couldn't keep up. That's why I asked for a replacement on
