Thread has not locked yet, so I get one last chance to post from my phone. If my count is right, icecream is at 4 votes and wolfpacks is at two. We've seen some last minute votes to position on the wagons, but I'm not confident in either being scum.

If icecream is going to be tested, at least we don't stand to lose more than a VT if he's town. I'm still leery of several on the ice cream wagon and the speed with which it grew here at the end of the day... But at this point I think I'd rather see him lynched than wolfpacks, and leaving my vote on a solo wagon is almost like not voting. So:

The mere fact D34th and Kevin, two of my top 4 suspicions are sitting on 1cecream discourages me to believe believe 1cecream is scum. Both WP and 1cecream have had instances of scummish behavior, but 1 of the wagons is comprised of suspicious people

About 1ceCream role claim, interesting thing is that so far half of the scum team was consisting of Weasley's ... but that proves nothing. Bad thing is that I'm not seeing any counterwagon here and that's might indicate 1ceCream is a town.

 

I was thinking about voting Death, but his wagon jumping got me thinking...why would he jump of the safe spot and hammer 1ceCream (we're close to the deadline, someone else would do it). I'm disappointed with lack of input from SM ... she promised putting some thought's but she didn't deliver.

 

Everything seems to be decided now and I hope 1ceCream will turn out to be scum (if he's not it'll at least act as a deterrent to other lurkers, even though it's a not much of a comfort). Still other lurkers like SM and even iSoc are giving me a worse vibes than 1ceCream.

Interesting to see the counter wagons cropping up now... Where were they earlier? Both SM and Kevin are suspect to me, and I'd feel less leery testing them than either icecream or wolf.

Right now sm has two votes, and Kevin has one. I am more suspicious of Kevin than sm, but there may not be enough time to swap and make it meaningful. I also have a higher opinion of Ali than isoc currently.

Ok, I read back quite a bit, I skimmed a lot because of the time.  I didn't put up my analysis because I simply haven't been focused and forgot about it.  Sorry.  I don't have a great person to finger right now.  The arguments for lynching 1cecream are the most compelling arguments I've seen.  His reaction has not seemed particularly townie, but when you are vanilla town it is kind of hard to make a particularly believable role claim.  I am feeling very iffy here, but 1cecream seems like the best candidate out of what I have to choose from.

Defense Against the Dark Arts quickly became everyone's favorite class. Professor Lupin's lessons were practical and allowed the students to actually learn and use defensive magic.

 

As fun as Defense Against the Dark Arts was it seemed like all other classes were getting worse. Harry, Ron, and Hermione dreaded Potions more so than usual. The story about Neville's boggart taking the shape of Professor Snape in his grandmother's clothes made Snape extra vindictive towards the Gryffindors even though Neville was out of classes for awhile.

 

In addition to how insufferable Potions had become, Divination was not much better for Harry. Professor Trelawney was now predicting Harry's death daily. He was tired of hearing about the ways that he was going to die. He wasn't alone. Divination always put Hermione into a foul mood as well. Her opinion of Trelawney dropped with every class as she tried to convince the other Gryffindors that she was a quack.

 

The first Hogsmeade trip was on Halloween morning. All of the third years could not hide their excitement about the fact that they would get to visit places like Honeydukes Sweet Shop or Zonko's Joke Shop. Hermione and Ron tried to keep their excitement in check as well when they were around Harry but he knew that they were just as excited as anyone else. That morning, as the students gathered in the Entrance Hall, Harry decided that he would talk to Professor McGonagall and try to talk her into letting him go.

 

"I'm sorry Potter. I cannot let you go without a permission slip signed by your guardian" she told Harry.

 

"But Professor, I thought that maybe if you signed my form that I could go," he replied.

 

"Since I am not your guardian it would be inappropriate. I'm sorry Potter that is my final word."

 

Harry's heart sank as he said bye to Ron and Hermione and headed back up the stairs. After wandering the corridors for awhile Harry passed by the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. He saw Lupin inside and decided to stop and talk for a little while.

 

"Professor, I was wondering.."

 

"You were wondering why I stopped you from facing that boggart" Lupin said as Harry nodded. "I thought it would be quite obvious. I thought that the boggart would take the form of Voldemort."

 

"I thought about Voldemort at first," Harry said. "But then the dementors popped into my mind."

 

Lupin smiled encouragingly at Harry. "That is very wise Harry. The fact that you thought of the dementors proves that what you are most afraid of is fear itself."

 

Snape walked into the classroom and interrupted them coldly. He handed Lupin a small potion and gave him some cryptic directions that Harry did not understand before he turned and left. Harry glanced at the potion in Lupin's hand and could not help but think that Snape was probably trying to poison him.

 

Later that afternoon Ron and Hermione returned from Hogsmeade and met Harry in the Great Hall for the Halloween feast. They brought Harry a small bag full of candy from Honeydukes which he was glad to receive. The feast was just as good as usual. They filled up on roasted pork and potatoes, mince pies, and pumpkin juice.

 

When the feast ended, all of the Gryffindors headed back toward the 7th floor to Gryffindor Tower. The crowds slowly came to a stop on the stairs between the 6th and 7th floors. The crowd parted just long enough for Harry to catch a glimpse of the Fat Lady's canvas. It had been shredded in several places and she had vacated her frame. Professor McGonagall appeared quickly followed by Filch to examine the portrait. Peeves zoomed out of a nearby wall and startled a couple first years who jumped and caused a little bit of a domino reaction on the stairs as a couple students fell backwards and landed on others.

 

"HE'S HERE! HE'S HERE!" Peeves exclaimed. "SIRIUS BLACK IS IN THE CASTLE. HE SHREDDED THE FAT LADY WHEN HE DENIED HIM ENTRY TO TOWER!" And then Peeves zoomed thro8ugh another wall and disappeared.

 

Pandemonium ensued as the students began shouting and running down the stairs, trampling over the students who had fallen. Professor McGonagall magically amplified her voice and shouted over the crowd. She instructed everyone to return to the Great Hall immediately. As the stairs finally began to clear McGonagall saw Fred Weasley laying unconscious on the 6th floor landing. She escorted him to the Hospital Wing before returning to the Great Hall herself.

 

 

1ceCream (Fred Weasley) a normal Hogwarts Student was knocked out on day 3.

All four houses re-congregated in the Great Hall. The house tables had been cleared and replaced by hundreds of sleeping bags. Professor McGonagall announced that everyone would be staying in the Great Hall tonight while the teachers searched the school for a sign of Sirius Black.

 

Almost everyone had finally settled into their sleeping bags and fallen asleep by 1:00 in the morning. Professor McGonagall, Snape, and Percy Weasley patrolled one of the aisles between the sleeping crowd quietly talking about Black. Laying as quietly as he could Harry strained his ears to hear there conversation. It did not appear that anyone knew how Black got into the castle but Snape claimed that he had a theory about it.

 

There wasn't any sign of Sirius Black so everyone was freed to leave the Great Hall the next morning and things started to go back to normal. The Fat Lady's portrait was removed in order to be restored and a new portrait took her place. It was Sir Cadogan, the goofy knight that had escorted Harry, Ron, and Hermione to their first Divination lesson.

 

The first Quidditch game was quickly approaching. After the first transfiguration lesson of the week, Professor McGonagall pulled Harry aside to tell Harry that she believed that Black was after him and that she didn't think that he should be playing Quidditch. Harry protested until she finally agreed to let him practice as long as he had staff supervision. Harry started to notice that it was not just Quidditch that he was receiving supervision for however. It seemed like Percy Weasley always happened to be going in the same direction or to the same place as Harry.

 

The day before the Quidditch match Harry left Gryffindor Tower and made his way toward Defense Against the Dark Arts. As Harry stepped through the portrait hole and into the corridor he caught a glimpse of Percy Weasley rise from on of the Gryffindor armchairs and head towards the portrait hole as well. Harry took off at a run down the nearest corridor and headed toward a less commonly used staircase. He could hear Percy's footsteps quickly coming behind him. Harry ducked behind a nearby suit of armor and watched as Percy continued to jog past him and down the hall in the direction that he was headed. When Percy was out of view, Harry stepped back out from behind the suit of armor and quickly ran toward the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. He was almost to the door when he heard Oliver Wood call his name from behind him.

 

Harry stopped as Wood ran over to him to give Harry some last minute Quidditch advice. After several minutes of listening to Wood talk strategy without stopping, Harry finally had to cut him off and say that he was late for class. Harry walked down the hall and opened the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom door. To his dismay it was not Professor Lupin standing in front of the class. It was Professor Snape.

 

 

Percy Weasley (Preston), an Even-Night Commuter, was ditched by Harry on night 3.
