Players that are not active are not helping the town.  In the absence of any other information, those are the best choices to lynch.

 

The "gut feel" has to come from somewhere and it is easy for scum to limit their posts and and let the townies argue among themselves until one of them gets lynched.

I'm not trying to avoid attention at all, and I feel like you're just trying to divert attention from yourself... And by saying scum are trying to hide what you're implying is that the bottom half of the list has all the scum, or you're somehow saying that post count has to do with your role. Either way it sounds illogical and I'm getting a sketchy feeling from you.

If we do go this route as a collective town, we should lynch someone lurking not an inactive. Or, what I would prefer, someone who has been responding but has posted nothing of value. We have a few we can pick from the last one and, in my opinion, we might find scum more likely in that group. I havent found anyone lurking, thats a first. But inactives like Preston, Mand, and Rhizo, who have valid excuses, we should give them a chance to 1) get involved when they slow down or 2) get a replacement. Whats everyone else think of this? We need to start agreeing on someone to lynch or Day 2 will end in 1 of two ways. Either no lynch again or everyone races to get a lynch at the end of the day (making it easy for Scum to make a wagon.)

Considering Kevin always does statistics and post count, I'm not too surprised to see that again. But like Preston said, can you do something besides that early on? D34TH's vote strikes me as odd, as does his response to Ali. However, seeing last game he defended himself like that, I feel he's more town.

 

Also, was it just me or was the forums down for a couple of hours?

I really wish I could contribute more, but at this moment I just can't find the time. So if I can be replaced, please do so. I'll do my best to contribute as much as I can (untill then).

I just started working 2 weeks ago, so I have little time during the week and my weekends have been crazy busy. I already said in the sign up thread that I thought my time would be limited, and I was right unfortunately. So I apologise to all of you for not living up to the standard.

I just don't remember you voting on KevinH last game, where he did exactly the same. Are you really sure he's a scum now? Just because he made a list that's condemning inactive / lurking players? I didn't say you lied, did I? I said you avoided answering a simple question and instead you posted some theories / opinions. Also it does not help you that those theories are odd / half baked and look more like a attempt at making a smoke screen.

@Death ... I'm just thinking now, nothing specific. The only person here right now, that's getting attention from multiple people is Robert. Maybe by writing about diverting attention you got "diverting attention from Robert" in mind?

I was just getting a feel for everything last game and accused very little people, I mostly just jumped on bandwagons and formed few original opinions

* SM had a post asking what we would have gotten from Day 1, citing her newness as not knowing. Similar to Wolfpacks this comes across as being defensive preemptively - trying to remove herself from consideration for her vote in the latter part of the NL wagon.

 

Nope, not at all defensive. I was clarifying that i am still evolving as a player and trying out different techniques.  Last game I tried for a D1 lynch, I have never seen a D1 lynch, Kevin convinced to me with his explanation, but I'm open to doing a d1 lynch in future. 

If I had to make guesses about this game's setup, one of the antagonists of the book was Peter Petegrew - he hid as a rat until discovered, then ran. I could see him as a Hider, but "Hider" is not on TW's role list. He could also be a Mafia Traitor, doubly so since that was discussed by the scum last game. As for Sirius Black - I'd not think of him as an antagonist in this game, though I am not sure who else would be aside from the Dementors.

 

Completely agree about Scabbers / Peter being the scum in the flavor, and Serius probably would  not be scum because he was a good guy who was wrongly blamed for betraying Harry's parents, Peter/Scabbers was the one who betrayed them.  Professor Trelawney could be a scum person, but she's not evil, just annoying and incompetent.  Marge, Uncle Vernon, and Aunt Petunia could all be scum for the sake of flavor along with Peter and a Dementor, but that seems unlikely since TW has had ample opportunity to make use of them as scum in past games and didn't take advantage of it.  He could go with Malfoy again.

I'm getting this feeling myself, there does seem more bickering and calling out by the more active of us, I'm not sure all the inactive are involved but some of them may, reading back it looks like that its working to a degree.

Then apparently you have no clue . Opposite of honest is...dishonest. We could also use insincere. You can be dishonest by hiding the truth, trying spin the discussion / changing subjects just to avoid giving an answer to the question you're asked.

@TW, I'll mention it again, in case it was missed. We got quite special case here, with so many people being away for many RL reasons - that I think it justifies day extension.

 

 

Now to the little sumary.

 

- Preston: Just 4 posts, but the last one is quality. At this point I'm thinking he's town. He got perfect excuse to stay quiet, yet he has found some time to make a long, helpful post. Also his suspects are similar to mine.

- CoD: slightly leaning towards town, but can't explain it...just a feeling ATM.

- 1ceCream: scums are generally cautious when it comes to jumping bandwagons, even on D1. He got 3rd on Mazuurek and didn't seem stressed about it. That does not mean to much, but gets him townie points from me.

- KevinH: no read, does what he does usually.

- Wolfpacks, SM: they post, but I can't read them yet (no positive or negative feeling). SM was among those that ended D1.

- Mazuurek, Yehom, Mandarijn, Rhizo: hard to say at this point. I didn't like Mandarijn's remark that he's not posting because there's nothing to post about (lazy excuse). Rhizo, just as KevinH mentioned, was a little to much vocal about D1 end. Maybe that's how he reacts (well he did similar things in the past), maybe he tries to look concerned.

- KingH: I'm little concerned about him due to his post http://ironcentral.org/community/topic/58337-tw-04-harry-potter-and-the-prisoner-of-azkaban-mafia-day-2/page-5#entry884372 . He was also among those that ended D1. But that's all

- Finster: No definite read, just a gut feeling, there might be something shady about him.

- Death: no issues other than his vote on KevinH, which seems to be random (using his reasoning he should've been voting on KevinH last game too, yet he didn't). Didn't really answered why pushing "low post players" is a definite scum indication, that is worth putting a vote.

- Robert: He's top poster, but his posts are not much helpful and are reactionary (he's not trying to push town into right direction, just responds to those that question him). He was way, way more proactive in last game (Transylvania). He votes on Wolfpacks with a random reason (not being active as presumably he usually is...even though there are plenty of such people around). When asked questions he does not come with straight answers but formulates half-baked theories and that look like a smoke screen and do not add anything of value into discussion. He was also among those that ended D1.

 

I believe we got a scum among the last 3 NL voters (that was usually the case in the last games). I'm pretty sure they saw opportunity to end D1 prematurely and voted on (there still might be more). So far I see Robert as the most suspicious person...and I wouldn't like this day to end without a vote.
