[KH-17] Matrix6 Mafia - Mafia Wins!

Matrix6 Mafia

The name of the setup is derived from the matrix that illustrates the variable roles in the setup, and the fact that there are 6 possible setups.
Setup

  A B C
1 Town Jailkeeper Vanilla Townie Mafia Goon
2 Mafia Roleblocker Town Cop Town Doctor
3 1-shot Bulletproof Townie Mafia Goon Town Tracker

The setup is determined by randomly selecting one row or one column from the above table, then filling in the remaining 6 roles with 5 Vanilla Townies and 1 Mafia Goon to create a 7-town, 2-mafia setup.
For example, if Row 1 (Town Jailkeeper, Vanilla Townie, and Mafia Goon) was chosen, the full setup will be 1 Town Jailkeeper, 6 Vanilla Townies, and 2 Mafia Goons.

Vanilla Townie

Would you mind elaborating on this a bit? When you say "Good call" are you referring to the fact that Lyner was killed as a "good call" for the mafia team to make?

I meant these three absent was a good observation from you. And this can be used to further the argument that one of these might be scum.

At this point I would not mind voting Robert out of the game. He is currently inactive D2 and barely contributed anything D1. Going back through the thread I don't remember a single post he had that was more than a sentence long. Either he is a scum trying to lay low or a townie who isn't trying.

Could the same not be said for captain, following the same logic?

In fact following the second half of that logic Rafay could apply as well (most of his posts are a sentence or two. He hasn't really opened up his elaboration on anything.

In my opinion captain remains most likely scum of these three, hence why I placed my vote on him. I agree that Robert's activity is a concern and I'm waiting to see what he says, if anything, but I don't think inactive lynching him is the best option, especially since someone who has shown much more scummy behavior is in the same boat.

EM I'm neutral/lean town on. His contributions have been helpful and he seems to be scum hunting.

LordSunday: I have no read at all. I think I want to say he's town, but I know nothing about his style of play.

Robert: Has contributed little. Was on captainjif bandwagon on D1. I lean slightly scum, if only because by voting for captainjif he could have been providing cover for noob scum. Yeah it's a stretch.

If it were deadline my vote would be fore captainjif, with rafay a close 2nd, tho his participation this game is much better. :)

Dude I'm active this game. You can ask a post count and I'll be 2nd or 3rd.

Rob and captain are good candidates due to their inactivity alone.

I indicated the second part applied, where most of your posts are only a sentence or two at best with vague details... Speaking of:

TW, captain and you considering you're pressing hard for my lynch.

Last I checked asking for clarification and thoughts from someone wasn't "pressing hard for their lynch." I wanted to know where you stood in your thoughts about captain being scum since he's on quite a few lists and you've been standing up for him despite that. You've answered my question, I didn't say a thing about lynching you.

Now I will say I find it confusing that you say captain is suspicious, yet you've still defended him instead of asking him questions that you would maybe feel are less, uh, intimidating? then the votes that built onto him. Following the claim that you defended him as the new guy who might get scared away is fine and all, but if he's suspect of being scum that can't be ignored simply because of his game experience... Very confusing, but I'll leave it be for now

I'd also like some clarification on this. Since you listed captain on your list as well, what do you find suspicious about him and why haven't you pressed him at all? Up to this point it seems that you have only defended him.

You've yet to answer TW's question here (which I'm interested to hear the answer now). Any chance you could enlighten us?

@EM - Do you have any thoughts on the other players in the game?

@tW- I do not have strong opinions on any one else so far.

I do think the captain/Rafay situation is over blown. I write captains off to inexperience. Rafay said the same thing and now everyone is setting up to lynch him.

It's hard to cast suspicion on those critical of them as it was only D1 and good leads are hard to come by.

Captainjf has requested replacement.

Sister Midnight was unable, so it has been offered to Kitkat16.

Welp. I haven't looked at this since I voted no Lynch. I've been fighting my workplace for certain days off but they are barely budging. Honestly it's a combination of rl, (trying to switch jobs) and half forgetting about the game.

Lyner isn't a weird choice at all for scum to target. We know he's for one an experienced player but with his not very many posts leaves us next to nothing to go off of. It's a win-win for mafia to target him.

I'm posting from my workplace and I have to go back out there. I'll review things during my lunch.

Captain's behavior on day 1 could very easily be written off as inexperience but that is one of the reasons why I don't think it can be swept under the rug. He very easily could have showed up and made a mistake by following a scum partner in joining my bandwagon. Those are the types of mistakes an inexperienced scum could make. We saw whitebeard show up and act similarly in his first and only game but everyone wrote it off as him being a noob and he turned out to be scum after all. We just can't overlook his actions. If Kevin succeeds in replacing him I suggest that anyone who currently suspects captain should also press his replacement for thoughts instead of ignoring what happened with captain.

I'm glad to see Robert make an appearance. When you have a moment would you mind addressing some of your short posts from day 1? You basically called people out for inactivity and not adding anything to the discussion and then did the exact same. Also, why the quick unvote for captain just because he finally unvoted for me?

Hey guys,

Yes, just so you know, I'm replacing Captainjf. I'm afraid I have my (unfinished! lulz) Honours dissertation due tomorrow (although I'm trying to wangle an extra day's extension) so I just don't have time to read through six pages of mafia thread at the moment. I have barely skimmed the thread, but I saw TW say that whoever replaced captain should provide an explanation for his actions. I can't do that right just yet, not because I'm a scum but because I'm just a bit busy right at this moment. But I'll do all my 'splainin soonish.

~KK

When the most scummy player gets replaced. There is an argument he should have a fresh slate, and an argument he inherits the past players problems. I think it should be both, but annoyed when this sort of thing happens.

Any replacement would need extra time, and it's understandable. However, you're kind of asking not to be lynch, saying you can provide us with the answers after d2. Which would mean we either no-lynch or lynch someone else. You are most likely the person to lynch on multiple people list. At least under captain 's previous play style.

Pretty much I'm rambling, though I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. If you can be active and add stuff. I'll give you the extra day, but if you're not. You will be my lynch on d3, assuming not much change.

As happy as I am to see a new active player coming into the mix, there's little doubt in my mind about captain's player... I'll give KitKat a little time to explain but at this point the character in general is top of my list.

Well, because captain has been inactive I have taken 15 minutes out of my day (despite being very busy) to read this thread, because given captain's inactivity I thought it was unfair on you guys to have to wait an extra day. It's difficult for me to comment on the machinations of captain's mind, however reading the posts as an objective bystander (as it were) and knowing his role I can only say it's inexperience. I just don't have time for a detailed evaluation of each of his posts (let alone speculation as to possible scum) until later. But some comments:

- His post on the first day is easily attributable to noobishness. TW says it makes even more sense if the other scum (are there two scum in this game, or more? I found the description of the setup slightly confusing nvm, reread it and it's clear there are two) was voting for him. But I don't think it makes it *THAT* much more sense than the explanation captain already gave. I have to say that most people had decided to give the noob explanation a pass, and I find it slightly suspicious that TW started pushing this argument. For reasons others have said in this thread, he's already a somewhat/ slightly suspicious character for making it to day 2. This is not an OMGUS situation, it's just me genuinely saying what I think to be true.

- Captain's failure to withdraw his vote I'd put down to it simply not occurring to him to withdraw it. There was no possibility at that point of TW getting lynched, so it's not some kind of genius masterplan to get TW lynched by keeping his vote on him. He simply kept his vote on TW while considering whether to vote for someone else (as he explained.) Shrug. It's not that compelling a piece of evidence, at least in my eyes.

- Captain *HAS* been quite inactive throughout this game, but that's not some scum masterplan either, as we can see from the fact that I've had to replace him. He's just inactive for other reasons.... probably not committed to the game. I am known for being hyperactive on these forums :awesome: and I can confirm that I'll be around and about, assuming that you guys don't lynch me. So inactivity on his part is not a good reason to lynch.
