one thing that is getting kind of tiring for me is all of the deus ex machina in game of thrones. Tywin at the last moment of the blackwater, stannis at the wall, drogon in the fighting pits, benjin after hodor dies, the knights of the vale at the battle of the bastards, danny's dragons at the lake, then benjin yet again.... all these at the exact moment needed to save characters. its like every major battle/conflict all ends the exact same way

I got something in my head this morning, and I can't get rid of it. There has to be a reason the Night King wants to invade the south, and I can't wrap my head around it. There must be a motivation, something they want, a reason to build a hoard and conquer the living. What would happen if the dead north of the wall started a war with the living south of the wall... and no one was there to fight them?
They should just retreat. I mean, what are they gonna do? Do they need the land? They don't eat. Are they gonna crap on my lawn? They're dead, they don't crap. A tactical retreat, burning the dead, while gradually thinning their ranks, would eventually win the day. If I was in charge... I would move everyone south toward Dorne, all the time making sure they are not able to get stronger while destroying everything that makes them stronger. Like Dondarrion said... you kill the Night King, you kill them all. Just always target that one guy with all the magic bullets you have, and something, sometime, will kill it.

MVP(Mod’s Choice)= Master Samus; I think Master Samus played amazingly for a guy who claims it was his second only mafia game. He never led the town on him and that’s why he deserves this award. He was impressive in manipulating the town that led to the ultimate mafia victory.
Player of Mafia; Master Samus/emudevelopment (shared); I think both were instrumental in the town’s defeat. Both were manipulative and deceptive. They clearly came out as pro-town and looked like de-facto town leaders. They led the lynch wagon w/o anyone uncovering their true motives.

I've been a big fan since the beginning and I've read all the books set in this universe ... I could deal with everyone borrowing Littlefinger's personal transporter to jump all around Westeros, but the Deus-ex-Polar-Bear was a bit much much for me.
Don't get me wrong, it looked cool, but it just took me out of the show to the point where I couldn't take the rest of the episode seriously ... and I REALLY wanted to enjoy the adventures of Team Unresolved Plotlines

I JUST FUCKING WATCHED THE EPISODE. IN HD AS WELL.
IF YOU THOUGHT EPISODE 4 WAS AMAZING (THE BATTLE AGAINST LANNISTERS), EPISODE 6 IS GOING TO BLOW YOUR MIND
I JUST CANT BELIEVE WHAT I WATCHED
it was meh.
the story felt contrived. and the ripoff from LoTR. fades connected to orcs..kill the fade and orcs connected to it will all die...of course except for just one..how lucky..the one they need to bring to kings landing.
what were those small band of undead doing separate from the main group anyway. also completely ridiculous that gendry could run alll the way to Eastwatch..get a raven message to dany and she can fly all the way back to rescue jon and co while the Others were just hanging around and waiting for no apparent reason.

Not my theory, just sharing. Maybe the ight king can see the future, like the hound, Melissandre, the priest guy, the other god of light chick, the fortune teller (predicting Cercei's misery), etc? the story felt contrived. and the ripoff from LoTR. fades connected to orcs..kill the fade and orcs connected to it will all die...of course except for just one..how lucky..the one they need to bring to kings landing.
what were those small band of undead doing separate from the main group anyway. also completely ridiculous that gendry could run alll the way to Eastwatch..get a raven message to dany and she can fly all the way back to rescue jon and co while the Others were just hanging around and waiting for no apparent reason.
