For the record... Howard Schultz held a town hall on Fox News yesterday. He declared very clearly that if the Democrats nominate a Socialist, Donald Trump will be reelected. I know exactly what he's saying.

 

 

Its quite possible that people wouldnt want to vote for Sanders and will vote for Trump instead, thing is Schultz has every reason to say that to scare votes in his direction and he does not see the future. On a side note Schultz's town hall on a channel that has incredible bias against democrats while running as one is incredibly amusing

Obvious you do not watch Fox News. If you watch Fox, and only watch Fox and Friends, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, and Judge Janine Pirro… I can understand your declaration. But, their hard news is extremely balanced. Shepard Smith is a staunch Trump hater, and that's one hour out of the day I can't stand to watch, because it's an entire hour of negative Trump coverage. Tucker Carlson actually questioned if Trump really wants reelection last night. It's really the only place you will receive the entire story. I understand why you don't know about everything that has been done, and everyone that has done it. You can choose to do something about it, or not... they love keeping you where they want you.

 

Schultz would be running as an Independent, he is no longer a Democrat. Schultz did his town hall on Fox because his support will come from Democrats that can't vote for a Socialist or the Green New Deal, and Republicans who can't vote for Trump. Any other media organization will just crucify him for going against the Democrats and reelecting Trump. I would never vote for Schultz myself because he's a big government Progressive... he just happens to be a Capitalist one.

Brexit is doing fine from the EU side, it is mainly the DUP and various levels of Conservative commitment to which severity of Brexit proposed/desired that are the issues, both UK side. Offcourse i doubt that level of nuance reaches your side of the pond.

 

 

Also, "hard news" is obvious a small and indistinct subset of Fox News channels time and effort. Still humours me that they don't want to be classified a "news channel"

That's a lie buddy. There is a very strong line between hard news, and opinion/debate programming. It is after all, the FNC, which is the Fox News Channel. The only place where conservatives get a fair shake.

Indeed, it was Stay/Leave, nothing about what the "Leave" meant. Couple this with your population being on a spectrum of Stay/Stay.but/Meh/Leave.but/Leave coupled with more scaremongering on either side and you get a woefully bad start to something very complex.

The complexity was 2-fold, both how to get out (Leave) and how to proceed in future (Relation). The first part has been mostly checked and laid down. The issue is that there is a no majority on what that "Relation" part should look like AND the plurarity is a basic "stay/meh". This thus complicates in how much the UK will actually release itself from the various European institutions and services. Most glaring issue thou is Northern Ireland and the Good Friday Agreement, any "hard" brexit also means either tearing up that agreement (and then possible renewed "Troubles") or "soft" tearing away Northern Ireland from UK (as in, make it closer to the EU the the UK itself). Nobody wants #1 and #2 gets stopped by the DUP party in joined government with May's Conservatives (aka, the idiotic snap-election gamble).

In part you are right that its like the sole conservative news channel, which means you guys have lost any semblance of diversity or different angles to a problem. Narrowmindness isn't good for an ideology, diversity (even if you loath the word from a sociatal meaning) is needed. Perhaps wonder why there are actually plural "liberal" news channels? Perhaps they do acknowledge that the world isn't a black & white world and nuance is ever present.

The New York Times reported that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz is looking into informant Stefan Halper’s work during the Russia probe, as well as his work with the FBI prior to the start of that probe.

 

During the 2016 campaign, Halper contacted several members of the Trump campaign, including former foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos and former aide Carter Page.

 

There was a spy sent into the Trump Campaign to infiltrate and create an appearance of shady dealings with Russians.

 

Horowitz, more broadly, is probing alleged wrongdoing related to the issuance of FISA warrants to surveil Page during the election. During a hearing on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, Attorney General Bill Barr testified that Horowitz’s investigation is expected to be complete by May or June.

 

Carter Page was not indicted. George Papadopoulos lied to the FBI about the contact with the spy, and served 12 days.

 

“More generally, I am reviewing the conduct of the investigation and trying to get my arms around all of the aspects of the counterintelligence investigation that was conducted in the summer of 2016,” Barr told the House Appropriations Committee on Tuesday.

 

Also on Tuesday, Fox News reported that Barr had assembled a “team” to investigate the origins of the bureau’s counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign.

 

Barr’s team will also review the FISA warrants issued against Carter Page. The issuance of the FISA warrants relied, in part, on the unverified anti-Trump dossier authored by ex-British Intelligence Agent Christopher Steele, who worked on behalf of Fusion GPS—a firm paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee through law firm Perkins Coie to do opposition research against the Trump campaign. In the dossier, Steele accused Page of conspiring with Russians. Page was not charged with any wrongdoing in either the FBI’s Russia probe or Mueller’s.

Also, House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said over the weekend he was preparing to send eight criminal referrals to the Justice Department this week regarding alleged misconduct by DOJ and FBI officials during the Trump-Russia investigation.

Halper was an FBI informant sent into The Trump Campaign to create stuff. He was contacting the Trump Campaign officials long before any investigation began. They wanted to create a case to leak to the media against Trump if they thought he was going to win. They didn't think he would win, so they turned it into an "insurance policy" in case he did win. Surprise. He won... and they all scrambled to make so much noise accusing Trump in an effort to keep anyone from investigating them.

Fusion GPS is an opposition research organization. They take on all clients. No Republicans were at all involved with the Christopher Steele dossier... except for John McCain, who was used as a useful idiot to hand it over to the FBI and Buzzfeed to cover their own asses.

Carter Page was not indicted and will not be indicted. I guess you didn't get the memo. The Trump-Russia case is closed.

The Trump-Russia investigation is closed. The Steele dossier has been entirely discredited as a false political opposition dirt piece. Barr said/implied spying was done, he mentioned neither source nor intention. At best he is talking about the counterintelligence effort and he (and others on his behalf) are looking into the foundation and merit of such an action to have occured. At worst it is foreign spies >_> And this is coming from the Iran-Contra pardonning dude while also auditioning for his current gig, grains of salt and all.

This is nothing new, and all these Democrats fully understand that it's all standard procedure, and according to the law. When Comey came out and listed everything Hillary Clinton did wrong, and then refused to charge her... that was way out of line. It was nowhere near standard procedure, or according to the law. Loretta Lynch met with Bill Clinton in a secret meeting at an Arizona airport just prior to Jim Comey's whitewashing of his wife. Spare me the hypocrisy. The Attorney General is appointed by the President. Donald Trump is entitled to his choice, just like every other President. I myself would have chosen Chris Christie or Trey Gowdy over an old Bush AG, but that's just me.

Congress passes legislation. It takes a majority in the House, and then it takes the positive votes of 60 Senators for it to reach the President. In this political climate, it's a miracle for anything to pass. If you think the GOP was terrible at getting bills passed... which bills did you want them to pass that the Democrats prevented them from passing?

 

Unemployment claims are at a 50 year low, and everything is rising... because of Trump. I don't care if Jared and Ivanka have clearance and are working in the White House. They do an awesome job. President Trump is not running any of his business. He turned all Trump business over to his son Eric. Trump doesn't even keep his Presidential salary... he donates it to various American worthy causes... and yes, we will still vote for him.

And you haven't heared of HB1 yet I guess, let alone all those House voted bills that just get thrown on the floor by McConnell due to "meh, 45 would veto them anyway". Your entire system of a 2-party near equal side is wreaking havoc on any kind of legislative power, only things the Senate voted on that came from the House was the one he couldn't deny to be put up for a vote (which funnely it did in favor of the House adopted stance, just not in a POTUS-veto proof fashion).

 

And you are voting for him cause he has an R behind (or in front) of his name.
