Kevin really was Black Widow and was telling the truth about his role. I'm not going to say I told you, because by the end Brewers and LWW's counterpoints about TW having given main character safeclaims before had me starting to wonder as well. But I think one of the lessons here is that we can't assume lore/flavor is a non-factor in this game.
It's also VERY strange that the scum chose Tony for their kill. With Kevin flipping town, Tony would have to me been the only wagon started by someone who has been proven town, and thus a higher scum potential - even if Kevin himself admitted it was a flimsy premise, it wasnt one chosen with scum knowledge. So why eliminate Kevin's choice? I'm not seeing the advantage here.
Kevin's claim was awkward, but he left us with a pretty full wagon and some interesting voting behavior that we can try to pick apart.
KevinH (6): Brewersalliance, lilweirdward, Darkfox, Tony Maurice, Jazzy95, Zacch
Not shown on this list: Velocity, who despite claims of offline inactivity showed up within an hour of Brewers calling him out, and with ~2 hours left in the day refused to put his name on ANY wagon. That feels a LOT like trying to lay low.
MK has already started us off with a vote on Velocity. Previously I'd been leery of your rapid day-start votes, but this time I think you've got some substance behind it.
And then we have this from Zacch, which I think deserves actual quoting for context:
Lol tony was tony stark…
Also whoever was scum and killed tony that was a total douche move… we literally fought to get his role changed so he could play and then he finally gets it back and you kill him right away…
Total bull shit and super unsportsmanlike imo. Whoever did that literally is a world class cunt
This statement coming from brewers seems sus.
Vote: Brewers
Zacch - please explain why what Brewers said is sus to you? This statement from Brewers is basically not game related, talking about Tony as a player and the out-of-game frustration of him being killed just as he got access again - so if you think this reveals something please elaborate on what/why.
This isnt Among Us where just calling someone 'sus' is enough on its own. If you're genuinely new, then take it as a lesson that beyond Day 1 you ideally need reasons for your votes and explanations that try to get people to agree with you. As it stands much of the way you have played thus far trips a lot of warning flags.
LWW starting a wagon on Robert is interesting. If I read this right, you're basing it on the same kind of logic for Velocity - that he was acting with guilty knowledge that Kevin was actually town - but then adding that Tony being killed makes Robert MORE likely because of personality? I don't know Robert enough to judge the merits of whether he's that petty, but that second half feels out-of-game.
As DF brought up from my earlier post, while everyone else was jumping on Kevin, Robert instead supported Kevin's choice of wagon. If Kevin had flipped scum that would have instantly made Robert look VERY suspect, i.e. trying to build support for some other wagon to keep one of their own from being lynched. The fact that Kevin flipped town does NOT prove Robert town - per LWW this could have been guilty knowledge on Robert's part and trying to stay OFF the Kevin wagon - but the fact that Tony was the scum's kill really messes with the logic here because it makes Robert look MORE scummy, and why would Robert-as-scum draw more attention to the wagon he WAS on?
Robert's had a chance to respond, but it doesnt move the needle other than to say the obvious that the kill doesnt make a lot of sense.
As for the flavor question about stones in the movie - Dr Strange explicitly had the Time stone in the movie, and Vision has the Mind stone. Black Widow not having a stone suggests TW is basing this game on the "first half" movie instead of Infinity War as a whole - in the first movie Thanos kills Gamora to get the Soul stone, whereas in the second movie Black Widow is sacrificed to get the Soul stone. The Reality stone is a bigger question, not sure who would be the 'owner' of that one.
Summarizing my current thoughts:
- Right now my strongest suspect is Velocity. I want Velocity himself to have a chance to post before I jump on the wagon with MK, but that's my heaviest leaning.
- I'm reserving judgement on Zacch until he responds with what he feels is sus about Brewers.
- I'm not sure about Robert - him being so close to the kill feels like something to be avoided, but maybe there's a line of reasoning that'd explain why robert-as-scum would make sense in that context.
- I also want to hear from iSoc2.0 in his reborn life as Bryan. His first and only post back was to jump in and attack LWW at the end of the day, starting a new wagon entirely. Please elaborate on what you saw that put you in that mindset.
