KevinH does look scummy right about now, i mean even if we didnt lynch you, you would most likely end up dead the next day since you hinted at a power role.

But since he has hinted at something...I'm willing to let him live for D1 (unless something dramatic happens).

@KevinH - previously you had 5 votes but since I unvoted...you are at 4 votes. Not enough for a majority lynch but sufficient for a deadline day lynch (ie. half-majority). If you still have 4 or more votes when it gets close to deadline day, I suggest you roleclaim as it will probably be the only way to save yourself. As AOD has stated...you hinted that you have a power role (reason why I unvoted)...so I think Mafia will either vote to kill you in D1 or kill you in N1. To avoid a D1 lynch you will need to convince the townies that have voted for you to unvote.

When I look at the voting patterns a few questions come to my head that makes me suspicious of the following people.

FOS Falzis How many times have you voted already? I lost track. I know you like to play aggressive but you have never cast around this many votes before. A person with that many votes makes it hard to gauge who he is really suspicious of because you voted for 1/2 the people here already. Also your last vote as it draws near to crunch time doesn't do anything at all.

FOS Theo You say you believe KevinH is a townie but you vote for him anyway? What kind of statement is that? If you're going to vote for someone at least make it for someone you believe could NOT be scum.


CD's vote and then quick unvote of KevinH is also suspicious to me.

I'm packing for a camping/canoe trip so I can't geek out over all the posts like I usually would. I look forward to coming back on Monday to see what/who has expired.


Some other posts came in as I was typing this, let me respond to CD's question.

My vote on KevinH was random and I have not changed it yet because there is no more evidence against any one else than there is on KevinH. Also, any action taken by me would look suspicious and I would have a good chance of coming under fire if I changed my vote. If I unvote Kevin then we will most likely not have a lynch tonight. No lynching gives us no info and is bad for the town. If I do something bad for the town than I would be "scummy".

Also there is a chance that if I moved my vote Kevin may still be lynched and could be scum. Making me look very suspicious and probably the next one up on the chopping block.

Any one else that I vote for will have virtually no chance of being lynched anyway and that would look suspicious. The only other vote that has a chance is No Lynch and I am not going to do that.

Basically, if I change my vote it will look bad for me. I know I'm town and I don't want to do anything that looks suspicious and waste the next days lynch on an innocent me, when I'm much better left alive and scum hunting. KevinH has as good as chance as being scum as anyone else and the reasons against him are as good as we have on any one else as well.

BTW...I didn't do a quick unvote. I re-read KevinH's posts. KevinH has hinted to a power role and as such, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he turns up scum and you guys want to lynch me...that's fine....that's your choice.

And I believe deadline is next week as per Rule #7.

I voted for Kevin for two reasons, that have nothing to do with my opinion of him being guilty or not guilty. Kevin got my vote because I don't believe in the no-lynch policy and he has the most votes against him. So yes I'd like to risk a vote even if we lynch a townie (and he might be a townie) and get at least some knowledge from that ...

alright i'm back! a few clairfications:

First, my going away meant that even if a majority was met, then the game would continue with votes being able to change and discussion continuing. this is different form normal, as although rule 9 says you can keep talking, you cant unvote once a majority is reached. this time was different in that i allowed a possible unvote if a majority was reached before i returned.

second, the official deadline is August 25. sorry for not clarifying earlier.

third, for Kevin's clarification: everyone is allowed to continue discussion as per rule 9. votes however cannot be changed.

I've dropped a few hints from my role PM throughout my postings.

• Sir Jesus and Falzis may have picked up on them when they defended me so they are probably pro-town.
• Electric Mango, Molestargazer, CanucksDynasty, Martino, and Theophilos certainly didn't pick up on them so there's probably a scum or two amongst them.

I had disregarded those post as they seemed like the ordinary KevinH fluff(poetry/spam) in the early parts of the game. However, after rereading them, I think I do see what you were trying to say. Still, if you are going to use it as a basis to filter out scum, you should have made it more obvious and especially less ambiguous. Before I will unvote, I would like to know why you more or less disregarded the advice given to you?

That being said, I am not too fond of this strategy. Yeah, it is a way to flush out some townies and perhaps a scum, but is this really in the spirit of the game? It is supposed to be about an uninformed majority versus an informed minority. If we are going to use the townie PM to our advantage, it will distrub the balance of the game without the scum being able to do anything about it.

I've only voted three times. One random for junk, one semi-random semi-serious for mole, and one serious for Carl Vincent. He hasn't posted since my vote yes? He's inactive and I'm not liking that as we've seen how inactivity only hurts the game for everyone.

And we've only played like 3-4 mafia games. And each game had a different twist (like the Texas shootout) so I don't think you can generalize my meta during D1, which I'm assuming you've generalized from the previous one (because of my singular determination for sojourner or KevinH).

Ok so Kevin has roleclaimed defacto. I'm not sure as to the soundness or the viability of this strategy since it would rely on a Doc role always protecting him. And that's assuming he is a pro-town power role and not a scum power role (which would kill the Doc right? like in mole's game?)

But assuming Kevin is a pro-town power role, we can safely assume he is not a Doc or a protector type since he basically relying on protection from nightkills now that he has hinted he is a power role.

So you are against townie role claims with the protection of a Doc? Isn't the strategy of, I'm assuming, a cop role claiming early and letting the Doc know to protect him every night a viable strategy?

The end of the day without a majority would change that, hence people jumped on to prevent that.

Yes it could be WIFOM. BUT I am a bit hesitant to lynch a pro-town power role. I think I know what KevinH is alluding to but I will not share it right now. Maybe on Monday when I have more time.
