Plane Crash II - Game Thread - GAME OVER!

Another day, another plane. Captain "Anger-Management" Tilden (As he was known secretly by the crew) had always been proud of how he handled the flights on his plane. Always smooth, orderly, and comfortable for the passengers. And he intended to keep it that way, he reflected, carrying his bags through the airport terminal. Today's flight was to be a tedious one over the atlantic. But never mind.

Got to keep alert, he mused as his bags went through a scanner. Terrorists were everywhere these days. The takeoff was, as always, impeccable. The passengers seemed fairly happy, apart from that hungover one complaining about the lack of painkillers, and Tilden settled himself down for a smooth flight.

A few hours into the flight, the door to the cockpit was nudged open, breaking the silence. Tilden stiffened. It was probably that flight attendant. It was no secret amongst the crew that Tilden had a thing for her. But he didn't care. He wasn't about to ruin his chances by shouting again.

"Ah, Marie, could you-"

That was as far as he got. Looking at the reflection in the window, he saw a man in plain clothes. A passenger? He was striding up to Tilden with purpose. Tilden's eyes widened as he saw the flash of a blade. He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't. A knife was swiftly drawn across his throat. He choked, swiftly passing into unconsciousness.

And yet no-one noticed the 2 dead pilots in the cockpit. Marie, the flight attendant, was about halfway through serving drinks. She glanced to the left, flashed a fake smile to the passenger before seeing he was unconscious.

She sighed, and rolled her eyes, recognising the passenger as the one with the hangover. She was about to turn away, when something caught her eye. Had he spilt coffee on himself? She sighed again, reaching for some napkins.

Wait. That wasn't coffee.

She screamed, noticing the blood spread out over the man's torso. The passenger's heads turned round to look at her. The man's pocket identified him as a Police officer.

It was happening again...

mislynch (3 townies/ 3 mafia)

Ok, I have to think this over again but Narsis, we still can lose with lynching, but that would give us one more mis-lynch.

A better option?

Wait a miunte, why don't ask mole how many mafia are there?

Mod, how many mafias are here?

this is correct. however, it is impossible for us to myslynch on D4 and beyond. why? because we will be split into only 2 person rooms during the night. that means that if mafia nk at all then we know 100% who is mafia.

But if we don't know how many mafias are there then how do we know if we lynched a mafia or a townie?

We only find out once they are dead.

For example...

Day 1 lynched Sinkon.

"The mob gathers a rope and hangs Sinkon. You find nothing on him. Sinkon = townie".

Look at past games in this forum and you'll see what I mean.

You are right.

Oh. I am going to take a beating here... ~.~

Yeah...you're going to take a beating...

While I don't agree with KevinH and SJ no lynch stance...somehow their recent posts makes me less suspicious of them.

I did have suspicions about AoD before he asked for a replacement.

He posted very little and didn't contribute much.

Now SinKon has replaced him.

And he comes out guns blazing on SJ, flops between no lynch and lynch, and back to SJ.

Not sure what to think about that.

Normally I'd give newbies a free pass on D1.

So they don't get turned off from the game.

But my gut is telling me different.

I get the feeling that SinKon may be trying a bit too hard.

Maybe it's his first game and all.

I don't know.

vote count anyone?

still nothing to have changed my mind at this point...

FYI SinKon - I had FoS'd AoD (The person you replaced) previously. You haven't done much to change that opinion.

Regarding the random placement, we should not have EM derive our positioning until we come to a lynch or no-lynch or deadline. Why?

Because who the mafia votes for will be EXTREMELY influenced by the positioning within the plane. If I'm mafia and we occupy rooms 2, 3, and 4, we would obviously try to lynch someone in room 1.

EM, you should tell us our assignments either:

- One day before deadline,

- L-1 / NL-1

Maybe I'm missing something. We have 13 people. No matter who gets lynched, all four rooms will still have 3 people going into the night. Let me know if I've over looked something.

I'd like to focus on lynching now.

I'm voting for SinKon and here's my reasons.

I agree with CD's post where he voted for SinKon

We have to move discussion along

SinKon is making it very hard to focus and I find myself skipping over his posts. I feel like I have to sift through a bunch of spam to get the message. I know he's a new player and I should cut him slack (sorry SinKon) but this game is getting cluttered up enough without him. I don't want someone around that makes it harder to focus on catching scum.

Vote: SinKon

So to recap:

We have to lynch someone

SinKon is more/as guilty as anyone due to reasons already stated by other players

He's making this game difficult for me (sorry again SinKon)

Alright, I'll get on board with this. I think SinKon is the best candidate to be scum. I've had an FOS on him now, and seeing that we're actually getting down to voting I might as well put the hammer down. In addition to the reasons I FOSd him for and the reasons other players have voted for him my specific reason is that he continues to promulgate strategies that do not benefit the town. We're talking about more than the general lynch/no-lynch debate. Unlike in other games, with the advantage of rooms here we can show that it is undoubtablely the best strategy to go for the lynch here. With that:

Vote: SinKon

MOD: Could we get a vote count now that we have some votes in here instead of waiting until the top of page 21? I don't think we're anywhere near a lynch but, just in case I've overlooked a vote and to see who has or has not voted it would be very beneficial.

Ok, just hurry up with the game, I want in the next game.

I didn't know posting alot would get me killed. (Wouldn't make that mistake again) XD

Oh well, bummer.

Have fun guys!

Hey, if you're innocent make me believe it.

In my first mafia game on these forums we all had one bullet to kill anyone we wanted. I threatened someone and they turned around and killed me outright. It was funny but, you're lucky to have the luxury of people actually voting to kill you. Plus, you have 3ish votes on you now? Its more than that to get a majority. Convince everyone else but, please do not withdraw!

For the record, I like your amount of posting.

On the first day, some players insist on a lynch but nobody really knows anything so it's really a random lynch. If you get lynched and are shown to be townie, I'll say "I told you so!" (I always do)

By my count...it's 4 votes for Sinkon (SJ, CD, EM, Aquinas).

It takes 7 votes for a majority lynch to end the day before the deadline.

@ Martino: would like to hear some more from you on the recent developments.

I think EM summed it up pretty nicely. I found myself skimming over the recent posts as well. The problem is not so much that Sinkon posts a lot or that his posts are lengthy. The problem is that his posts are not very coherent and that in general they are based on debatable 'facts'. For example his theory that Sir Jesus cannot be the cop because he voted no lynch did not make much sense to me. Why would the cop be any less likely to vote no lynch than any of the other players? Sure, ignoring WIFOM and the implication of voting no lynch for a moment, I could see that a no lynch is in favor of the mafia and that the mafia players would, theoretically, thus be more likely to vote no lynch. However, why would a cop be less likely to vote no lynch than a regular townie?

Anyway, because he is new, I had decided to just ignore him and give him a few days. I still can't say I am convinced he is scum. I could see a new player getting excited and jumping on every piece of evidence he thinks he can find. I can also understand that a new player may come to certain conclusions that the more experienced players know are not necessarily true. However, I have no other suspects and, therefore, I wouldn't mind lynching him. If nothing else, it would increase my motivation for reading all posts again and it would get us down to the desirable 12 players for 4 rooms.

What I found remarkable is people claiming they were already suspicious of AoD. The only thing I remember about AoD is that he was inactive. Of course, lurking is a known mafia tactic. But he did ask to be replaced. Seeing how AoD had to ask for a replacement because he didn't have enough time, I can't see how we can hold the previous inactivity of AoD against Sinkon. I, therefore, find the people quoting previous suspicions of AoD more suspicious. It offers an easy way to jump on/support the bandwagon without offering any real evidence.

You are correct. One of the reasons to no-lynch is to avoid lynching the cop. If you are the cop, that reason is gone.

By that logic, everyone voting for a lynch has a higher probability of being the cop than those that voting no lynch. It would be statistically better for us to lynch you or Sir Jesus then right? :P

i was thinking the same thing.

i think i need to go reread stuff...the conversation got quite a bit cluttered with the whole lynch/list debate and i havent been focusing much on scum hunting...

As to my previous FoS on AoD it was due to the support of the "Max Spread" strategy without giving any reason for two days, the response to the FoS was "I don't respond to every FoS". Thus the suspiscion.

This will get me kill, but I am not the cop, please rest assure.

Even if I lie about it, it will only get me kill in night 1... and then I have keep on lying, thats just too much trouble.

I really have nothing to say, my logic was totaled by narsis.

Is your choice either way.

I will be very grateful if you don't lynch me but the town has too lynch somebody. The odds is about the same for everyone, though I am very suspicious of sir jesus, I can not be sure.

Even, my own logic does not provide a good reason not to kill me...

~.~

I'm finally back up to date with vote counts.

Checking for prods now.

EDIT:

Only crazyemolad needs to be prodded. Doing so now.

MOD: you missed EM and Aquinas vote on SinKon as seen on their post on this page.

Please see Rule 11. ;) -Mole

11. Vote counts will be made at the top of a page, edited into a post in orange. They will count up to and including the post it's been edited into.

AoD inactivity is partly to blame as well as SinKon posting all over the place that draws my suspicion.

I don't see why we can't use AoD's past behaviour as part of our assessment of SinKon.

From what you said...IF AoD did something obviously scummy...then we can't vote on his replacement?

SinKon (or anyone else for that matter) lynch will have served a purpose.

IF SinKon turns up townie...then you have a pool of suspects to work with (SJ, CD, EM, and Aquinas).

IF SinKon turns up mafia...that pretty much clears up those who voted for him (not 100% cuz of bussing but close enough).

What I find interesting is that you interrupted a possible lynching (or mis-lynching) that may halt further bandwagoners from voting.

Why are you so interested in protecting SinKon?

Is it because he is a new player?

Nothing said has dissuaded me to change my vote.

It'll stay on SinKon until I find someone else.
