Plane Crash II - Game Thread - GAME OVER!

Another day, another plane. Captain "Anger-Management" Tilden (As he was known secretly by the crew) had always been proud of how he handled the flights on his plane. Always smooth, orderly, and comfortable for the passengers. And he intended to keep it that way, he reflected, carrying his bags through the airport terminal. Today's flight was to be a tedious one over the atlantic. But never mind.

Got to keep alert, he mused as his bags went through a scanner. Terrorists were everywhere these days. The takeoff was, as always, impeccable. The passengers seemed fairly happy, apart from that hungover one complaining about the lack of painkillers, and Tilden settled himself down for a smooth flight.

A few hours into the flight, the door to the cockpit was nudged open, breaking the silence. Tilden stiffened. It was probably that flight attendant. It was no secret amongst the crew that Tilden had a thing for her. But he didn't care. He wasn't about to ruin his chances by shouting again.

"Ah, Marie, could you-"

That was as far as he got. Looking at the reflection in the window, he saw a man in plain clothes. A passenger? He was striding up to Tilden with purpose. Tilden's eyes widened as he saw the flash of a blade. He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't. A knife was swiftly drawn across his throat. He choked, swiftly passing into unconsciousness.

And yet no-one noticed the 2 dead pilots in the cockpit. Marie, the flight attendant, was about halfway through serving drinks. She glanced to the left, flashed a fake smile to the passenger before seeing he was unconscious.

She sighed, and rolled her eyes, recognising the passenger as the one with the hangover. She was about to turn away, when something caught her eye. Had he spilt coffee on himself? She sighed again, reaching for some napkins.

Wait. That wasn't coffee.

She screamed, noticing the blood spread out over the man's torso. The passenger's heads turned round to look at her. The man's pocket identified him as a Police officer.

It was happening again...

@CanucksDynasty

I still say that "mathematical analysis" is a bad idea not because it shows that there is 51% chance that 2 mafias could end up in the same room, but what we will do if we buy it. (We will keep lynching everyone in the room)

@CanucksDynasty, this still remain my stand, if you could overcome my reasoning then I will consider using yours. Which is what happened. KevinH somehow, went pass my logic so I used his then you showed support and that formula to set me up!

This formula, was given to me by you which supported no lynch. I used this formula then to push for no lynch then my logic was overcome by Narsis. At that you jumped me CanucksDynasty.

You gave me this, then you turn on me. Yeah you set me up.

OK...so by me posting how a possible strategy would play out...means I'm setting you up.

By that logic...I guess Narsis and Firkked set me up cuz they were the first to post the 4 room strategy.

I couldn't have possibly chosen to go with a max spread strategy that KevinH mentioned in a much earlier post.

Or EM set me up to die cuz he is randomly generating a room list by using the stock exchange.

Read the page please, I know there are alot of spam and is the main reason why you want me dead, I don't make my point very well but I am direct when I make my point, also I am presenting a better candidate.

You are not dead yet.

There are 5 votes for crazyemolad and 4 votes for you.

What do you expect me to do Narsis, I am being pounded by 4 people? I don't see anyone coming to defend me. I see people that say "we have to lynch somebody, might as well be you", "Oh God, he spams too much, therefore must die", "Hey, he voted for no lynch that really diminishes his chances of being a cop, we have to lynch somebody, oh well" (Well that was my reasoning too) and my personal favorite, "After I lynch SinKon, he will just replace crazyemolad"

All of these people know that I am a townie, and they choose to kill me anyway. Why should I be different? I don't wanna die and what is wrong with that?

It's your first game and it is understandable that you don't wanna be lynched.

No one really wants to be the first to be lynched (mafia and townies).

Everyone wants to continue playing.

Since this is your first game...I'm not too sure how to read you.

You could be an overzealous townie posting whatever comes to mind.

Or you could be mafia desparately trying to avoid getting lynch on D1 or subsequent days.

As it now stands...crazyemolad will get lynched (provided no major changes happens) not you.

If I were the mafia, I would've claimed to be the cop, when I had 5 votes against me! That would at least save me from day 1 but since I am a townie, I would get kill the very night! Which is pointless. I believe, somewhere up when I was about to be lynched I told everyone I am not a cop.

You are changing the subject again CanucksDynasty. You showed me that strategy then stab me in the back when I use that formula. If you didn't believe it yourself, why did you give it to me?

well not everyone may know you are a townie.

now when it comes to the not wanting to die...that is a somewhat complex issue. generally, only non-town players dont want to be lynched since it is usually detrimental to their win condition. this is also the case with pro-town power roles generally.

however, regular townies, although it is detrimental tot he town to lose them, it does provide some benefits in the form of vote counts etc.

so usually a townie doesn't mind being lynched. of course they don't want to, but they realize that even indirectly due to their death a townie win can result.

so you say you don't want to die. you claim that as a reason to vote crazy. so by the logic i gave above you are either a pro-town power role or mafia and since you have already claimed not to be a townie power role...

of course that logic wont stand on it's own. the fact is: mafia know this. thus they can act indifferent to their death and hopefully convince some townies to their side. even so, it doesnt always work since most know that mafia could try to do that so they consider that more of a scum tell. but mafia likely would guess that so they would act like a mafia to look more like a town. and now of course we are getting into the lovely recursive reasoning known as WIFOM.

hence why it's posts like those that make me think you arent town...but it doesnt prove you are scum either.

If I were the mafia, I would've claimed to be the cop, when I had 5 votes against me! That would at least save me from day 1 but since I am a townie, I would get kill the very night! Which is pointless. I believe, somewhere up when I was about to be lynched I told everyone I am not a cop.

1. You don't have 5 votes for you only 4. So you saying that you would have claimed cop is pointless. And no...you wouldn't be the cop or any pro-town power roles. I said in an earlier post that I suspect that you are either a vanilla townie or mafia (leaning towards mafia). Am I 100% certain that you are mafia? No...cuz that is just my opinion.

2. Seriously?!? Again...I just supplied data. You made the assumption that I was in favour of that strategy. Unless I specifically state that this is the way to go...then it's just data. I've supplied both no lynch and lynch scenarios prior to this no lynch on D1 and D2 strategy. So by your reasoning...I'm flip-flopping on lynch/no lynch then??

3. I give up. Believe what you want. You have your suspicions and I have mine.

VOTE COUNT

SinKon (4): CanucksDynasty, Electric Mango, Aquinas, Firkked

crazyemolad (5): Narsis, Sir Jesus, Kaziocore, KevinH, SinKon

Not Voting (4): Junkahoolik, crazyemolad, Falzis, Martino

Edited by molestargazer

I am not unvoting but have some additional thoughts ...
The way I understood Kevin's post was he was assuming or predicting that scum won't NK if we put our plan into place (3 persons per room in 4 separate rooms) because it would be to risky for scum because it would be a 50% chance of suspicion.
You understood correctly.

Why are you currently voting for Crazyemolad? Is there more to it than that he is inactive?

Yes, strictly because he's inactive. I think on day 1, any lynch is pretty much random but an inactive will disrupt our plan.

KevinH, in your scenario, would you suggest lynching people from the pool of 6 until we've found the scum?

The pool of 6 would have scum points against them and there would be additonal data points considered later. We could split the 6 into separate rooms for the next night and if another night-kill occured in one of those rooms, I'd put double suspicion on the players that were in the room both times with a night-kill.

I am not unvoting ...

  • Crazyemolad has a 3/13 chance of being scum, just like everyone else.
  • If we lynch, mafia will most likely not night-kill and try to influence future lynches rather than expose themselves to a 50% chance of lynch the next day.
  • If we don't lynch, the mafia will be facing better odds and might night-kill. There's a 100% chance they'll kill a townie.

Lynching the inactive is the best course of action.

@CanucksDynasty

How can math be a bad idea?

1. You are assuming that we will keep lynching everyone in the room. This is a game of flux. Nothing ever goes as intended.

2. SJ pointed out that 51% chance that mafia could end up in the same room. So what! A nightkill will most likely happens in the room that doesn't have 2 mafia in it. What did it achieve? It limits the choice of targets for mafia down to 2-3.

@CanucksDynasty, this still remain my stand, if you could overcome my reasoning then I will consider using yours. Which is what happened. KevinH somehow, went pass my logic so I used his then you showed support and that formula to set me up!

Not sure what this question is about.

I agree. I think it is very important that we don't leave a person out a proper room assignment or to take that risk. I wonder then, who would you be voting for if we were not faced with Crazyemolad's inactivity assuming you had no additional reasons to suspect Crazyemolad? I ask because although I believe at the end of the day I would agree Crazyemolad needs to be lynch, I leave my vote on SinKon so that it may be reflected I believe him to be the biggest active anti town voice we have.

Wait, so you are saying even if I die, I could still win? As long as the town wins, dead townies are winners too?

I though, only the people who lynch all the mafias and survive are winners. My bad.

Narsis, I am lossing you with your logic... is that the logic where it goes I think, you think, that I think that you think...

You know I am kinda slow and so does others.

Just look at me right now and the situation I am in and tell me if think I could pull off something like that.

Actually, I am in this situation, I hate to say it: Yeah is mostly my fault... :grenadekx1: but people are taking advantage of me left and right! ~.~

Once again, you pwned my reasoning...

Let me do some more thinking...

Yes...even if you die...so long as the town wins you would win too (provided you are townie).

The same goes for mafia.

The only different ones would be the independents (like a survivor who must stay alive til the end game).

It all depends on the win conditions stated in your role pm.

heh. as CD said as a townie(or mafia) even if you are dead you can still win.

also you are correct that WIFOM is where i think that you know that i know that you think that i know what you are really thinking and trying to do and thus play the opposite of what you think you know.

and dont stress yourself trying to understand what i just said.

also, alone i dont think you could pull that off. however, if you are mafia and they have the ability to speak during the day(something that seems to be getting more common) they could easily be passing you pointers.

I'm waiting for the market to close. I will then do screen shots of the new stock prices to determine placement. I will most likely do it 10 hrs from now after my football party is over. (Go Steelers)

To anyone w/ FOS on Firkked

Please justify yourself w/ applicable quotes and screen shots. I'm not getting scum vibes from Firkked and would like to see a case against him.

@EM - I was looking back at the pages and came across these posts.

Junkahoolic and SJ didn't do a FOS but this may be what you were looking for.

yeah narsis, i don't like firkked and i don't like sincon. they both seem to be changing votes too easily for my liking.

I tend to agree.

Of course, my votes have been jumping around too. But I feel like the only opinion that SinKon (and not so much Firkked) can carry is that of what the town also carries.

I did vote 3 times, each time I gave a reason in plain english.

With voting records appearing on D2 and the results of the upcoming lynch I feel my record will not be anything more than a scum talking point.

I don't plan on any more vote switching on D1 however.

I wonder then, who would you be voting for if we were not faced with Crazyemolad's inactivity assuming you had no additional reasons to suspect Crazyemolad?

I equally suspect everyone. I would vote for the player with the largest stock gain (myself excepted).

I have little time to sort them all from biggest gainer to biggest losers. I will do it some time tomorrow. If anyone wants to verify the current prices, they may do so HERE by typing in the symbol for the stock they want to search.

The only one that did not bring back results was Kevin's stock. It was showing the stock price as all 0.00's for some reason. I left Kevin's stock at no gain/loss.

You understood correctly.

Ok that somehow cleared up my FOS on you.

Vote: crazyemolad just because deadline's getting near and I can't be the hammer vote because my activity online has been sporadic so I can't assure a hammer vote (although I will make time to be online on the 48 hour thingy room assignments).

I'm getting scum vibes from Sinkon recently though (the whole i-was-manipulated thingy and i-didn't-know-i-win-with-the-town-even-if-i-die thingy... although it could still be chalked up to the newbie card).

On the end of business Monday the 9th I will do another screen shot.

The top 3 biggest gainers will be in room 1

Next 3 in room 4

Next 3 in room 7

Bottom 3 in room 8

Tie breaker will go to the person highest on the sign up sheet.

So it seems that crazyemolad will be lynched...that would mean...

Room 1 = Sir Jesus, Firkked, junkahoolic

Room 4 = Electric Mango, AoD/SinKon, Kaziocore

Room 7 = Falzis, Narsis, KevinH

Room 8 = CanucksDynasty, Aquinas, Martino

Is that correct?

vote: falzis

for trying too much to excuse his vote on a inactive.

junk, I've always signified that I would vote for crazyemolad. The addendum was just to explain why I'm voting now since I don't think I can monitor this thread in the following days (since I previously said not to rush votes on crazyemolad until 2-3 days before deadline) and I could only come back with attention during the 48 hour period to go to our rooms. ^_^

@: Kaziocore, KevinH, SinKon, Sir Jesus,

Why are you currently voting for Crazyemolad? Is there more to it than that he is inactive? If so, do you feel that his inactivity is scummier than any other actions you've seen thus far? I realize the implications for the town if he is alive on lynch day but, we can worry about that later. If I missed your greater reasoning feel free to post a quote of yourself.

Yes I voted him mostly because he is inactive. If he was not active, I could have voted SinKon. At first I found his posts amusing but then I got tired of reading a lot of his posts and he looks like he's talking in circles. But I don't know maybe if crazyemolad was active, things could be different. Probably not...
