Plane Crash II - Game Thread - GAME OVER!

Another day, another plane. Captain "Anger-Management" Tilden (As he was known secretly by the crew) had always been proud of how he handled the flights on his plane. Always smooth, orderly, and comfortable for the passengers. And he intended to keep it that way, he reflected, carrying his bags through the airport terminal. Today's flight was to be a tedious one over the atlantic. But never mind.

Got to keep alert, he mused as his bags went through a scanner. Terrorists were everywhere these days. The takeoff was, as always, impeccable. The passengers seemed fairly happy, apart from that hungover one complaining about the lack of painkillers, and Tilden settled himself down for a smooth flight.

A few hours into the flight, the door to the cockpit was nudged open, breaking the silence. Tilden stiffened. It was probably that flight attendant. It was no secret amongst the crew that Tilden had a thing for her. But he didn't care. He wasn't about to ruin his chances by shouting again.

"Ah, Marie, could you-"

That was as far as he got. Looking at the reflection in the window, he saw a man in plain clothes. A passenger? He was striding up to Tilden with purpose. Tilden's eyes widened as he saw the flash of a blade. He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't. A knife was swiftly drawn across his throat. He choked, swiftly passing into unconsciousness.

And yet no-one noticed the 2 dead pilots in the cockpit. Marie, the flight attendant, was about halfway through serving drinks. She glanced to the left, flashed a fake smile to the passenger before seeing he was unconscious.

She sighed, and rolled her eyes, recognising the passenger as the one with the hangover. She was about to turn away, when something caught her eye. Had he spilt coffee on himself? She sighed again, reaching for some napkins.

Wait. That wasn't coffee.

She screamed, noticing the blood spread out over the man's torso. The passenger's heads turned round to look at her. The man's pocket identified him as a Police officer.

It was happening again...

the only ones that could have investigated me are SJ and Firkked. now, i don't remember Sj voting for me or casting a FOS on me... and i'm sure Firkked didn't investigate me either. otherwise no vote. so, actually, allow me to ask this...

whut??

I'm not sure. Its a series of comments from a while ago. I realize it would mean that the cop role would have bent the rules, but who knows. For all we know there is no cop anyway. Either way, I'm sticking to my first to arguments and think there is a legitimate connection to the third.

We have 4 more days to dead line btw.

@ Aquinas -

What is the 3rd connection of which you spoke?

That someone I have in my mind as a possible cop has indicated Junkahoolik in this way. You jumped on me for thinking that meant I must have Firkked in mind but, that is not necessarily the case. I can think of various examples of flavor that would allow for the cop to bend the rules of room specific engagement. Especially now that we know that rule could be (and was) revoked.

I don't think the case against junkahoolik is very strong, yet he has the most votes.

SinKon is definitely irratic in style, but I don't find that necessarily scummy.

Despite his vote against me, Electric Mango seems to be the most pro-town in his prodding posts but maybe that's because he's a cleverly disguised mafia.

Falzis seems pro-town, too.

So where does that leave us? I want more discussion that might convince me. I won't support a "just lynch somebody, it's better than nobody" argument.

Do you have any of your own suspicions at this time?

Vote: Sinkon

with the end of the day approaching...

a) we need a lynch. the reasons/benefits should be obvious.

B) we need to gain information from said lynch.

with that reasoning in mind, let's make this a two horse race.

additionally, FOS on anyone that isnt voting at this point. lying low isnt helping the town at all.

I don't think that is the case here on N1.

Cuz that be a major advantage for the cop to have over mafia.

I'm thinking that the cop could really only investigate his roommates since the rules clearly state that they could only perform their night actions in the room where they in. The only thing I could think of for the cop to investigate other people is when mole announced to them during night that he removed rule 5-1. But if that is true then the mafia should have killed someone so I'm guessing rule 5-1 was still in effect on n1.

So looking at this...

Room 4 = Electric Mango, AoD/SinKon, Kaziocore

If EM is townie (which I believe him to be) and AoD/SinKon is scum then they should have killed EM through SinKon since they know there's a big risk for SinKon to get lynched the next day and EM is very active and stuff. So I'm thinking that SinKon is not mafia. Well unless I'm wrong and EM is actually scum or even me...

But I'll vote tomorrow (I'll reread the whole thread tomorrow and decide if I should vote junk) since I'm really busy right now.

I agree with KevinH that lurkers are bad and activity is good. Dead line is Friday and I'm hoping now that the weekend/holiday is over that activity picks back up.

I'd like to hear from those that haven't voted in particular as everyone else has already made their voices heard.

The whole point of grouping into rooms was to deny the scum the chance to move to an adjacent room and do an action. I doubt that the rules were changed by only telling the power roles but not the rest of us. I'm still not clear what it means when rule 5 is still in effect but there is another mechanic that we won't know.

I think we should still group into rooms like we did the first night.

well we can either group together again, however i think that would be detrimental considering the mechanics change. the only case where it is really beneficial at all is in the original. we may not know whether they can move or not, but it would still prevent them from targetting who they want.

personally, i think a max spread would work. except in the original case, grouping together just inst really that beneficial imo.

although...if we grouped suspected mafia in say area 1 and suspected townies in area 9, with the rest sort of floating around towards area 1, it might help a bit.

VOTE COUNT

junkahoolik (3): Martino, Firkked, Aquinas

SinKon (3): Falzis, CanucksDynasty, Narsis

KevinH (1): Electric Mango

Falzis (1): Junkahoolik

Not Voting (4): KevinH, Sir Jesus, SinKon, Kaziocore

With 12 alive, 7 is needed to lynch.

To quote Southwest, "We are now free to move about the cabin".

At least that's what I get from Mole's rule change.

That said, I still think we should stick to our original plan. That will ensure that the rest of the plane gets investigated and the chance of a townie getting the item(s) vs mafia will be increased. No use having a townie spend the night in a room we have already stayed the night in. Also I don't want our last 3 days spend debating best room placement, I would rather focus on scum hunting.

I'd also suggest that we stick to the original plan. Yes, most likely the movement restriction was removed, but there is the slight chance that it did not get removed. In that case, it will be highly advantageous for us to stick to the original plan. I don't really see any drawbacks from sticking to the original plan, so that is why I think we should still divide into the other four rooms.

Anyway, I also agree that we shouldn't spent too much time on this discussion. I too would like to hear from those that haven't voted yet.

Well we occupied 1/2 the rooms, if we occupy the other 1/2 tonight someone is assured to receive an item. The town greatly out numbers the mafia so we have good odds of getting the item if we stick to the plan.

I don't know if anyone is going to say if they received an item or not.....

Maybe a townie got it night 1 but can't use it until tonight so they didn't want to admit they have one and be a prime target for mafia when today ends.

even so...i would be interested to find if anyone did find any kind of item, and how it works.
