  1. How the hell are the Americans still leaking this info? Opsec has been royally fucked here now. Agree though. He should've been taken into custody long before this happened if this intel is accurate.
  2. Where's your source for that? He's quoted in the evening express as saying "We don't believe in killing innocents. This is not us. We aren’t the ones who blow up ourselves among innocents. We go to mosques. We recite Koran, but not that.” As for his activities in Libya, the same newspaper reports that he was a security officer under gadaffi, but fled after being accused of passing information to opposition Islamist groups. He's maintaining his son is innocent as well. Not sure how to feel about that. Maybe he's in denial.
  3. Op temperer has gone into effect as well, so we'll be seeing the army on the streets now that the threat level has been put to the maximum level.
  4. Saw it on BBC news in our mess hall mate. Apparently they fled Gadaffi's Libya in the early 90s, settled here and their son was born and grew up here.
  5. Food for thought. The bomber was 22 yrs old, born and raised in Manchester. His parents have described themselves as devout Muslims, but staunchly opposed to ISIS, and extremism, and are shocked that their son did this. Think the main question that needs to be asked now is how did he make or acquire the device...
  6. I won't be able to make it I'm afraid. I'm actually based in England now (and terribly missing Scotland ), but sadly I'm next on leave on 14th April.
  7. I've worked in bar/nightclub security for the last 4 yrs in NE Scotland. In that time, I've only ever been involved in two knife incidents, never had an incident involving a gun. I can't really speculate on what type of security arrangements they had at that club in Orlando, maybe there were multiple entrances, not all staffed by security, but any doorman who lets someone in with a rifle without realising it, is really in the wrong line of work.
  8. I have a very deep voice and sing opera when drunk. Could be funny.
  9. Too much drama over the fact he's Muslim in my opinion. Even if he was a member of ISIS, the taliban and Boko Haram at the same time, he's still not as bad as Boris Johnson.
  10. Everybody should be punched in the face at least once. Learning that you're not made from glass is very liberating!
  11. Is it bad that when I read the title of this thread, my first thought was superpower, as in, Soviet Union, or USA?
  12. I love this series. Matthew Macfadyen (Inspector Reid) is a great actor. I had the pleasure of being in a documentary/social experiment involving young criminal offenders (I have since reformed! ) in which he was the narrator.
  13. "When criminals in Norway leave prison, they tend to stay out. Norway's recidivism rate of 20% is one of the lowest in the world. By contrast in the UK it's about 45%, while in the US more than 76% of prisoners are re-arrested within five years." Hard to argue that their system doesn't work though with statistics like that. Something they're doing is clearly working.
  14. I've just downloaded the DLC and started a new game. Has anyone played through it yet? Any good?
