Werewolves in Genericville

The owner of the Souvenir shop at the small village of Genericville was very pleased with himself. Since the invasion of the mafia a few months ago, tourists had been positively flocking to the town to look at... well... the place the mafia had invaded. And failed, he reminded himself happily as he stocked up the shelves of his small store with little mafia models and fake guns. It was a far cry from his business last year, barely surviving off people coming to look at the countryside and buying postcards with sheep on. However, for most people, the village had returned to its normal, boring, self. It wouldn't for long. As the sun set that night, a full moon began to rise...

The souvenir shop owner locked the front door and retired to his small apartment above the shop to turn in for the night.

Oh, my god, it's happening again... 2 men sat over a table with playing cards on exchanged scared glances. Last month, whilst they were playing their nightly poker game, they had both begun to feel a little queasy. They excused themselves from the table, being careful not to draw too much attention and retired to a room in a nearby hotel. There, a frantic discussion took place.

"Not again?"

"Relax, you can control yourself when we're... changed... right?"

"Well, yeah, but someti-" He was cut off by his friend.

"Well then, what's the problem?"

The next morning, the souvenir shop remained closed. A cautious tourist wandered into the shop through the back door and went upstairs to look for the owner of the shop. In truth, there wasn't much of the body left to be disgusted over, but it was still enough to turn their stomach.

The Souvenir Shop Owner, NPC, has been mauled by werewolves.

It looked as though it was time for the people of genericville to dust off their pitchforks...

The Rules

1. This is game. Enjoy yourself.

2. No editing or deleting posts.

3. No talking to other players outside the game thread unless your Role PM states specifically that you can.

4. No quoting any PMs from me, including Role PMs. Doing so will get you modkilled. Paraphrasing is OK.

5. Vote for a player to be lynched by using the Vote: molestargazer format. You must unvote before voting again.

6. Days will last 10 days. Nights will last up to 72 hours, but may be cut short if I get all actions in before then.

6-1. If discussion is lagging, I may impose a shorter deadline at my own discretion. Deadline extensions will happen on request - but will only happen once per day at most, and if I feel there's enough activity to warrant one.

7. A lynch requires a majority (50% rounded down + 1) vote. You can also No Lynch, by using Vote: No Lynch.

7-1. If there is no majority by deadline, only a half-majority is needed. (Majority / 2, rounded up if necessary)

7-2. If there are 2 players with the same amount of at least half-majority votes at deadline, then I will lynch the one who reached that number of votes first.

8. After someone has been lynched, discussion may continue until I can get to the thread and end the day. If you are dead you may not post

9. Don't use small / invisible font, don't use orange text (That's mine), and don't use any form of clever encryption or code in your messages.

10. If you haven't posted in 3 days, I'll prod you. If you don't pick up that prod AND post within 48 hours, I'll replace you.

10-1. If you need to be replaced for whatever reason, please PM me, don't flake.

10-2. If you are V/LA, don't rely on me checking the thread / your signature. Please post in the thread notifying me of your V/LA or PM me about it.

11. Vote counts will be made at the top of a page, edited into a post in orange. They will count up to and including the post it's been edited into.

12. Be nice. Excessive flaming will result in a warning, then a replacement or modkill as I see fit.

12-1. "Excessive" is defined by me on the spur of the moment. I will try and be consistent (if indeed I have to warn at all), but if you don't like it, tough.

13. I hope it isn't necessary, but any modkills will negatively effect the rule-breaker's faction in some way which I see fit. If you are modkilled, you lose, no matter how the game ends.

14. I can change, add, or edit rules as I see fit. I will notify players in-thread if this happens.

15. I am not perfect. This is my first modding experience on MS. I may have got something wrong. I may have missed a rule out. Let me know, ask me questions, but don't abuse my mistakes.

15-1. To get my attention in-thread, use the MOD: <Your message> format. Or, y'know, you could PM me.

The Roles

Well, you're not being told many of these. There may be one or more townies who will receieve this PM...

Welcome to Genericville!

Well' date=' after the invasion by the mafia a few months ago, which was seen off thanks to the efforts of the townsfolk, Genericville was finally starting to return to its old, boring state. Even all the blood had been cleaned up by the local council, who had initially refused for cost-cutting reasons.

But after a shopkeeper found mauled to death after a full moon, it didn't take a genius to figure out Genericville was under siege again. You decide to dig out your old torches, pitchforks, and rope from the garage and try and help.

You are a VANILLA TOWNSPERSON.

You have no powers other than your vote to lynch someone during the day.

You win when all of the Werewolves are dead and there is at least one Pro-town player left alive.

To confirm you have received your role, reply to this PM telling me what your role is and how you win.[/quote']

I edited out my alignment so the gamemaster would inform us but it seems he is inactive.

Let me get this straight.

You FoS me but vote for Chaoshawk.

And to top it off you think I'm possibly mafia.

So for that to work...it means I was the first to vote for my mafia buddy (before he was on anyone's radar).

My moves aren't to create drama.

My moves are to poke holes into excuses whereever I can find them.

My moves are to scum-hunt.

Am I to sit idly by and accept everybody posts as the truth?

Im sorry, i haven't read the rules where it says that if i FoS someone, i have to vote againts him, please if you have those rules, i'll be happy to read it.

No im not saying you have to sit idly, i never said that, i was just making a point, that's all.

VOTE COUNT

Chaoshawk (4): CanucksDynasty, Narsis, Nerau, Kasabian

Kasabian (1): Kaziocore

Narsis (1): Chaoshawk

No Lynch (1): KevinH

Not Voting (0)

With 7 alive, it takes 4 to lynch.

Any unvoting after the hammer has been put down is irrelevant.

@Chaoshawk - Please be aware that editing posts breaks the rules. If you weren't dead, I may have had to modkill you anyway. Just sayin' for next time!

The small group of townsfolk grab Chaoshawk and bodily haul him to a hastily-constructed gallows in the town square. They stand back as he thrashes around wildly from the noose, but... well... nothing happens.

Damn.

Chaoshawk, TOWNIE, has been lynched.

It is now NIGHT ONE.

Night actions to me by Wednesday 18th.

  • Author

During the night, the howls of the Werewolves could be heard. The villagers curled up in their homes, hoping it was not them which fell victim to the savage wolves of the night. However, one villager wasn't so lucky...

Narsis, TOWNIE, has been killed.

It is now DAY TWO.

Deadline for today is 29th August.

For the townies...DO NOT VOTE.

It'll only take 1 vote on a townie for them to jump on and place 2 consecutive votes for the win. It's LYLO...so we need to choose wisely. Let's use the time to discuss.

Alive

CanucksDynasty

Nerau

Kasabian

Kasiocore

KevinH

Dead

Chaoshawk - Townie

Narsis - Townie

2 mafia are left.

Kazio changed his vote to Kasabian to put pressure. I don't see how much pressure that would have generated considering he only had 1 vote with a few days left to deadline. Kazio also asked if a possible SK was in the game. With only 7 players and 2 are werewolves...why did he ask such a question? It would be pretty much over if townies and sk got it wrong.

In past games Kazio did more scum-hunting. This time...not so much.

Kasabian changed his vote only after Narsis put forth that distancing suggestion. Was there a need to put the hammer vote on Chaoshawk? Kasabian and Narsis arguing at deadline.

Narsis ends up nk'd. Kasabian and I also argued at deadline. Both of us are alive. Perhaps so we can go at each other's throat on D2? Add it all up...I think Kasabian is townie.

Nerau placed the 3rd vote on Chaoshawk. He only changed it after Narsis called him out. A case of low posting to avoid the limelight. But this is also how Nerau played in the last game.

KevinH sits on his no-lynch stance. Had 3 votes and gave townie points to CD, Kasa, and Nerau for not placing the 4th vote. I found this bit scummy cuz it sounded like he wants to earn our favour.

So in order of townie to mafia...I think...

Kasabian

KevinH

Nerau

Kaziocore.

*sigh* you know how i hate getting nk'd but i should have seen it coming.

go town.

You'll be avenged soon enough.

:blamenah:

If Chaoshawk is townie:

  •
  • Kaziocore is the towniest in my opinion
  • I can say "I told you so"

"I told you so"

Chaoshawk (4): CanucksDynasty, Narsis, Nerau, Kasabian

Since it's day 2, and CanucksDynasty is alive, there's a high probability that he is scum. (Don't say the same thing about me)

I think CD appears very townie in terms of his posts. The problem is that he has fooled me too many times. Nevertheless, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Nerau placed the 3rd vote on Chaoshawk which was the most critical. Kasabian ended the day with the 4th vote but it was a done deal at that time.

My list from towniest to scummiest:

Kaziocore

CanucksDynasty

Kasabian

Nerau

"I told you so"

Chaoshawk (4): CanucksDynasty, Narsis, Nerau, Kasabian

I don't agree with your list.

You're pretty much saying that 2 mafia voted Choashawk and then proceeded to nk Narsis (whom also voted for Chaoshawk). Normally, the players would look at those who voted for the townie. They would have a 1/2 chance of avoiding a lynch. But by nk'ing Narsis...they only have a 1/3 chance to avoid the lynch. So why would mafia want to reduce the suspect pool?

No...I think at least one mafia did not vote for Chaoshawk. I'm betting it's Kaziocore.

Let's get into a classic Wine In Front Of Me argument. By reducing the suspect pool, they make it look like one of them did not vote to lynch Chaoshawk and thus lead the remaining townies to vote for one of the two that did not vote for Chaoshawk.

:bay2: <-- think Old West and tumbleweed

oh not that old arguement again

sorry guys was sick

I hope you're feeling better.

My point is that the scum could have killed someone to make it look like someone else is guilty.

All the scum needs now is to convince one townie to vote for another and it's game over.

Kazio changed his vote to Kasabian to put pressure. I don't see how much pressure that would have generated considering he only had 1 vote with a few days left to deadline.

In a span of few days, ChaosHawk also received a lot of votes.

And aren't people more active when the day is about to end as

they are pressured to really vote someone wisely?

So things can still change.

Kazio also asked if a possible SK was in the game. With only 7 players and 2 are werewolves...why did he ask such a question? It would be pretty much over if townies and sk got it wrong.

And why is this a bad thing?

In past games Kazio did more scum-hunting. This time...not so much.

Really? From what I remember, I'm not much of a scum hunter at day 1 and

I voted Nerau last game because he was inactive (but no one followed me)

So you're saying I should have voted Narsis or ChaosHawk instead?

Why should I if I believe it would be better to pick Kasabian than the two of them?

Certainly not in retrospect.

Whom do you find most scummy now?

Well that's what I'm getting from CD's post

Anyway right now I think the scummiest is Kasabian.

He's been away most of the time during day 1 (seeing a similarity between him and what Nerau did last game).

The distance between his posts is like this

1st post

----------

2 days

----------

6 days

----------

started posting more actively

I thinks it's suspicious that you'll only start becoming active if the day is about to end.

Was there a need to put the hammer vote on Chaoshawk?

If he's scum of course it was necessary to hammer vote on Chaoshawk

so there will be absolutely no chance in lynching him.

Kasabian and I also argued at deadline. Both of us are alive. Perhaps so we can go at each other's throat on D2?

Isn't this a great plan B if both of you are scum?

If Kas got lynched today and turns out to be scum,

no one will suspect because you fought each other

and you did nothing scummy in this game, I believe

As i said it before, i didnt knew i had to post actively, or you don't remember when i said that this was my first mafia game and i was getting along with the game, i became active because of what? please tell me? oh yeah, i remember now, i was accused to be a scum because i didnt post to much, thats why i start posting , LOL

If he's scum of course it was necessary to hammer vote on Chaoshawk

Really? i dont think my vote was the hammer vote, whether i voted him or not, with the 3 votes he had , he was going to get lynched anyway, not because i voted him, he became very suspicious to me in the last days. Then i change my vote to Narsis for the plot he seem to had againts you Kaziocore, i was sad when i saw the werewolves killed him, i was like damn why did i voted him, he was a townie as well.

We fought because he was accusing me of not FoSing CH , then i told him if there is a rule that said that before i vote for someone i need to FoS this person first, i would recommend you to read the posts first before start pointing fingers Kazio, that is all.

Of course you have to post actively. You must participate. That's why there's this rule...

Check the definition of hammer and this rule...

We were 7. 50% of 7 is 3.5. Round it down and add 1 and you'll get 4.

We fought because he was accusing me of not FoSing CH , then i told him if there is a rule that said that before i vote for someone i need to FoS this person first, i would recommend you to read the posts first before start pointing fingers Kazio, that is all.

And I advise you to read on distancing.

http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Distancing

Of course if you two are scum, you will try to argue with each other so that when one of you falls,

people will think the other is townie.

Anyway I think we have 1 active werewolf and 1 lurking werewolf.

So if it's not you, maybe it's Nerau.

was waiting to see what would come up

Unvote

Vote: ChaosHawk

for the reasons of bandwaggoning

and i want to hear his reasons aswell

I think this is strange.

Look at that date and the date of his next post.

August 11 - August 21

It's like if he's scum, he just

lynched a townie and then just

disappear.

If he said that he really wants to hear ChaosHawk's reasons,

he should be active near the end of deadline.

Of course you have to post actively. You must participate. That's why there's this rule...

Seconded, he has been very distant, i didnt said anything before but now it has to be said.

I advise you to view that site. It's a great place to find tips and stuff
