General Rules

(Stolen from my last game)

1. This is game. Play to win; expect to lose. And have fun.

2. No editing or deleting posts.

3. No talking to other players outside the game thread unless your Role PM states specifically that you can.

4. No quoting any PMs from me, including Role PMs. Doing so will get you modkilled. Paraphrasing is OK. If you are worried about something not being ok, then either PM me or just dont say it.

5. Vote for a player to be lynched by using the Vote: Narsis format. You dont need to unvote before voting again, but it is appreciated(especially if you dont vote again right away).

6. Days will last 10 days. Nights will last up to 72 hours, but may be cut short if I get all actions in before then, with a minimum 24 hour night.

6-1. If discussion is lagging, I may impose a shorter deadline at my own discretion. Deadline extensions will happen on request - but will only happen once per day at most, and if I feel there's enough activity to warrant one.

7. A lynch requires a majority (50% rounded down + 1) vote. You can also No Lynch, by using Vote: No Lynch.

7-1. If there is no majority by deadline, only a half-majority is needed. (Majority / 2, rounded up if necessary)

7-2. If there are 2 players with the same amount of at least half-majority votes at deadline, then I will lynch the one who reached that number of votes first.

8. After someone has been lynched, discussion may continue until I can get to the thread and end the day. If you are dead you may continue to post until your death scene is posted. After that point I will only allow a Bah post, and only if you were night killed.

9. Don't use small / invisible font, don't use coloured text(except for mole who is allowed to use orange if he is acting as the super moderator of the forum), and don't use any form of clever encryption or code in your messages.

10. If you haven't posted in 2 days, I'll prod you. If you don't pick up that prod AND post within 48 hours, I'll replace you.

10-1. If you need to be replaced for whatever reason, please PM me, don't flake.

10-2. If you are V/LA, don't rely on me checking the thread / your signature. Please post in the thread notifying me of your V/LA or PM me about it.

10-3. If you replace out, you automatically lose. If you are someone replacing in, whether it counts as a win or loss depends on how long you have been replaced in for.

11. Vote counts will be made whenever I feel like it(or it is asked) and will be done in a separate post.

13. I hope it isn't necessary, but any modkills will negatively effect the rule-breaker's faction in some way which I see fit. If you are modkilled, you lose, no matter how the game ends.

14. I can change, add, or edit rules as I see fit. I will notify players in-thread if this happens.

15. I am not perfect. I may have got something wrong. I may have missed a rule out. Let me know, ask me questions, but don't abuse my mistakes.

15-1. To get my attention in-thread, use the MOD: <Your message> format. Or, y'know, you could PM me.

Special Rules

(stolen from one of the PYP games on mafiascum and edited for this game)

These rules are unique to this game. Probably worth a look at some point.

This is a semi-open setup: 4 mafia and 11 town. Each player will receive one of the following PMs:

Mafia wrote:

You are a part of the mafia along with X, Y, and Z. Each night the four of you can choose a player in the town to kill, though you are not forced too. Before the game begins, the four of you have 96 hours to talk and decide on which four poweroles the town will have, from the list of seven given in the rules post. Because of the importance of the decision, I'd like confirmation from at least three of you as to the choices being made. Oh, and remember, you can communicate in private with your partners at any point during the game.

You win when the town no longer has the majority of votes.

Townsperson wrote:

You are a townsperson. At present you have no abilities other than your voice and your vote, but it's possible you will receive a useful ability. You will be told at the start of day 0 what your ability is if any, otherwise you're just a vanilla townie.

You win when the mafia has been eliminated.

During the pregame stage, the mafia will have a maximum of 96 hours to choose four (different) protown poweroles from the following list:

Macho Cop wrote:

You are a macho cop. Every night you may investigate another player and receive a guilty or innocent result from me. You cannot be protected by a doctor if there are any doctors.

Doctor wrote:

You are a doctor. Every night you can give me the name of a player you want to protect; they will be immune to all kills that night. You may not protect yourself.

Weak doctor wrote:

You a weak doctor. Every night you can give me the name of a player you want to protect; you will block one kill against them that night. If you protect a member of the mafia, you will be killed that night. You may not protect yourself.

4-shot Vig wrote:

You are a vigilante. Each night you have the option of killing another player who you suspect is scum. You only have four shots and can only shoot once per night.

Bulletproof wrote:

You are bulletproof. You will block one night kill against you each night.

Vengeful wrote:

You are vengeful. If/when you are lynched, during the next night, and next night only, you can send me the name of one of the people that voted for you. A night kill will be attempted against them. This ability can't be roleblocked.

Detective wrote:

You are a detective. Each you can choose another player to track and watch that night. I will tell you who they targeted and who targeted them last night.

Once the mafia have chosen, the poweroles are immediately distributed randomly to four members of the town. The game then starts with day 0. During day 0, everyone gets to vote for three perks to give the mafia, from the following list:

4-shot roleblocker wrote:

You are a 4-shot roleblocker. Four times during the game, at night, you can block another player from taking any nightactions. If that player is a cop or detective they will be notified of the block, otherwise they won't be.

Day Rolecop wrote:

You are a day rolecop. Each day you may investigate another player and find out their full role.

1-shot janitor wrote:

You are a 1-shot janitor. Once during the game, before a lynch has taken place, you may PM me and ask for the lynched player's alignment to be covered up. You may not cover up your own alignment in this way.

Godfather wrote:

You are a godfather. Any cop investigations against you will show the opposite of their expected result, and any nightkills against you will fail. You also have the option of allowing a weak doctor to protect you and still survive; you can use this on any night by PMing me.

Ninja wrote:

You are a ninja. You will not show up to the detective as targeting anyone, or being targeted by anyone.

Bus driver wrote:

You are a bus driver. During the night you may "switch" two players. Any actions against the first player, will instead be used against the second and vice versa. You will be seen as targeting both players however.

Everyone has three votes on day 0, and these can be removed and changed as often as you like, just as with normal voting. Note that you can't place all your votes on the same perk, however. When a choice reaches 8 votes, it's locked in and can't be changed. When three perks/abilities have been chosen, the mafia have a brief period to decide amongst themselves which of them get which perk, and which one stays as a goon. After that, the game starts with day 1, and from them on progresses normally. Note that the mafia in this game can talk during day as well as night.

Confirmed Mafia

AKCPluto - fake roleclaim Weak Doc

LOL, I doubt even Benjamin Franklin Gates could decypher that

I couldn't make it that obvious for mafia to get it.

Also...I had the idea of leaving hints as to who I would protect so that the town would target the player if there were 2 townie deaths at night.

Fortunately KevinH brought up the idea which I then helped filled it out.

Like I said in my earlier post...a fair trade off in losing me to lynch mafia.

Btw, since now we know you are the weak doc, you can just post who you're going to protect I guess no need for the voting.

Actually I do want a majority consensus.

Cuz now that mafia is down a member (or will be)...they may want to influence who I protect.

That is info that would really help when put together with the lynch info.

Plus more chances for mafia to slip up when they post more.

For example...

I we get lucky again and I died protecting mafia...then those who chose the target have a higher chance of being townie.

Cuz...mafia would be left with only 2 at such an early stage of the game.

I believed Martino's assessment was enough to tell he wasn't weak doctor. Since Doctor will likely protect you anyways it would not be necessary for you to announce who you are going to target each night, that way the mafia can't control who you are able to target by announcing it (unless you were intentionally throwing them off). We'll just have to see once he's lynched.

I'd rather start off with a mafia lynch than a townie lynch.

Besides...the other method...while would have worked...would allow AKCPLUTO to be alive with whatever power he had.

And we would have most likely lynched a townie (possilby a townie with a power role).

I see no point in risking that.

Have you even bothered to read the Weak Doctor role description?

I do have to announce whom I am protecting.

How else would you know who I tried to protect?

If I ended up dying then you would know that the person I tried to protect is mafia.

FoS: Chaoshawk

Well, I for one am not inclined to believe his claim. In fact, I would like to ask the real weak doc to at least temporarily withhold his counterclaim.

AKC was the clear front-runner for lynch target. As discussion started to halt, things were looking dark for AKC. Then suddenly AKC claims weak doc. Which is conveniently the most powerful role we most likely have. Perhaps if AKC would have put up some kind of effort to defend himself, I would have given it a second thought. But he simply seemed to give up. I doubt any pro town power role would allow himself to be taken down that easy. In fact, even in his roleclaim post he only posts that he is the weak doc. I can't help but get the feeling that the mafia discussed the situation and decided that the best way to go would be to have AKCPluto roleclaim weak doc, so that they would at least be able to remove that threat from the town.

So I suggest that the weak doc does not counterclaim. It would, however, be prudent to leave AKCPluto alive for now. Our real weak doc will die eventually and that will give AKCPluto away. There is always the small chance that AKCPluto is speaking the truth and in that case we should certainly not kill him for the mafia. So, for now, I'd suggest that the real doc does protect AKCPluto. If he is the weak doc, he will target a mafia member eventually and die. Allowing us to kill that mafia member. If he is mafia, the real weak doc will either target a mafia member and die or he will be killed by the mafia. In the first case, we get to kill two mafia members and in the second case we get to kill just AKCPluto.

In any case, if AKCPluto is not the weak doc, I think it would be beneficial to keep the identity of the real weak doc hidden. If he is, then we would also ask the normal doc to protect him, so nothing is different there.

So while I still suspect that AKCPluto is scum, it doesn't hurt us to leave him alive a little longer.

unvote

As for the next target, I'm going to search among the people that I associate with AKCPLuto.

vote Kasabian

There have been a few small things that raised my suspicion. The main thing is his FOS for AKCPluto. A couple of people jumped on the AKCPluto bandwagon first. While Kasabian said he agreed with the reasons and placed a FOS he did not vote. If AKC is scum, kasabian could try to avoid suspicion like that, while keeping the option of lynching someone else open. An advantage here is that I believe that if he does turn out to be scum, it goes a long way towards disproving AKC's claim.

Finally, could we get some prods? Some people haven't posted in a week

I didn't vote for him because i wanted by that time get more evidence to assure my vote against him besides, i can vote whenever i want btw, as long as is during the day, im ok.

Ok CD, i believed from the begining that you'r a townie, so i'll follow your strategy my friend.

Vote: AKCPLUTO

CD has fooled me many times in the past so I always want to be suspicious.

He does good analysis as a townie, but he also does good fake analysis as a scum.

As scum he could have dropped the "WD" clue where nobody would notice it, only to bring it up in time of need.

However, I don't see the need for scum to do it right now.

If he's scum and AKCPluto turns up townie, he's brought suspicion on himself.

I'm inclined to believe him this time.

Unvote.

Vote: AKCPluto.

Whoa - a LOT has happened today!

LOL, I doubt even Benjamin Franklin Gates could decypher that

Seriously CD; that was extremely subtle. Is that kind of nuancing common in these games??

I'm with Martino in being a little bummed you had to roleclaim this early, since that'll put a big target on you for that 4-shot roleblocker ... but it ALSO means the real doc can keep you safe, which is good - we won't lose our weak doc due to a lucky mafia guess.

Reading back I also see Narsis never answered my list of questions :-/ Though admittedly some of them are now moot. Ah well; good job work everyone :)

I doubt any pro town power role would allow himself to be taken down that easy.

Well, I apologize for the town for playing uber n00b this game...I have literally forgotten how to play townie. GG fellas.

Why did you decide to roleclaim? You could have just argued that roleclaiming would be better instead of immediately doing it you know? Now you've just given the mafia exactly what they wanted. That was a huge blow to the town. The weak doc is now pretty much useless as the mafia will know to roleblock you when you target one of them. Basically the only way you will be of some use is after we have neutralized the roleblocker. So I suggest you target the same person night after night until the roleblocking stops.

Not happy with this development at all. Especially since there was already little doubt in my mind that AKC was lying. As for leaving a clue, I'd say it is better to avoid those kind of things. First of all, they are almost never picked up before hand and I could leave twenty different kinds of clues as a scum to cover any possible future claim I would need to make. If they are picked up, it is as likely to be by a mafia as by a townie. Anyway, now that I am done ranting :P, let me make a more valuable contribution.

Also a FOS Ccabal86, Chaoshawk, Kasabian, Nerau, KevinH

There was really not reason to rush towards a lynch like that. Yeah he is scum, but there were still other things to discuss. I doubt I'll be alive tomorrow, so I need to get my thoughts out before you guys hammer him. If I had to guess who the other scum are I would say:

Chaoshawk: Supported KevinH's role selection in the beginning, later explained that was because he didn't know that the mafia had selected the townie roles. However, the rules were pretty clear on this subject. Ccabal put a FOS on KevinH for not going no lynch, but it was CH that tried to take advantage of the situation and vote him. KevinH's strategy change made good sense, so CH's vote did not. Was quick to vote for AKC after CD's roleclaim. CH suggesting that CD no longer claims who he is going to investigate did not help his case either. Finally, when AKC roleclaimed I immediately thought it would be something that CH could have come up with.

Kasabian: He did support the roles I proposed, but only after it had picked up some steam. (AKC had already switched his votes at that point as well). Got into a little fight with AKC early on (putting a FOS on each other), though that could easily be distancing. Quickly joined Chaoshawk on voting KevinH for not voting no lynch. It would surprise me greatly if both of them turned out to be townies. There was a good excuse but no solid reason to vote KevinH. That is typically the kind of situation a mafia would try to take advantage of. After KevinH votes Kasabian he tries to defend himself. However, he is not very convincing and in fact the points he brings up are both false. (KevinH did not assume there was a cop and the majority of the players did agree there was no cop). Voting for AKC after the counterclaim should not clear him in any way.

Nerau: Also supported KevinH's role selection, as he believed them to be the weakest. KevinH obviously thought the same, so it does not necessarily mean he is scum, but it counts against him. Once Kasabian and CH were attacking KevinH, Nerau did say that he believed KevinH statement that there was most likely no cop to be valid. However, he was also quick to add that this did not clear KevinH. Nerau being scum would also support AKC's roleclaim. After all, if nothing had changed, and it certainly looked like nothing would change. AKC would be lynched and we would find out about Nerau's alignment. So that would be 2 scum down in 2 days. Certainly seems like the mafia had something to gain by making AKC roleclaim. As I explained above, the weak doc becomes useless as soon as his identity is known. On the other hand, even if Nerau is not scum, the weak doc would be a powerful tool for the town, so it may have been worth sacrificing AKC, who most likely was going to die anyway. If AKC comes up as the roleblocker, this theory can be discarded. Otherwise, Nerau could make a good D2 target. Remarkably enough, however, I was more suspicious of him before doing my reread. Most of his posts actually do seem to make sense. Perhaps it would be better to postpone his lynch for a bit. Also, he agreed to be the weak doc target without too much trouble. Kasabian and CH make better targets, but he should still be watched.

Ccabal: The thing here is that the majority of his posts make me feel like he is a townie. But his FOS on KevinH was just really, really suspicious. It was right after Kaziocore pointed out that AKCPluto was most likely going down. Apart from KevinH, nobody was really discussed as a possible alternative. So his accusations and FOS there just seem like a good way to try and redirect the lynch towards KevinH without taking full responsibility of said lynch. Shortly after AKC votes KevinH, so it definitely could have been something they discussed. He was, however, the first to agree with my weak doc voting strategy and while he did ask why Nerau, he was also the first to vote for Nerau after I explained. Actually, I am more leaning towards townie than scum at the moment. Still can't hurt to keep an eye on him.

In summary, I feel really good about Kasabian begin scum and I am leaning towards Chaoshawk being scum. If Nerau and Ccabal are scum, they have done a better job of disguising it, but there have been a few things that raised my eyebrows. In any case, my suggestion would be for Kasabian and Chaoshawk to be the next two lynch target, I would be really surprised if they are both townies.

Finally, I'll make a townie list:

CD: If AKC turns up scum, he should be town.

EM: Nothing in particular, he just gives townie vibes. Strong ones at that though.

KevinH: Yes, he was the one who suggested the wrong pro town power roles. But would he have taken the lead that blatantly if he was scum? In addition, he could have easily hold on to his no lynch strategy, especially after Ccabal suggested it, but for the better of the town he decided to change it due to the set up. Moreover, several of the people I suspect tried to push the D1 lynch towards KevinH. That told me enough. Furthermore, he introduced the weak doc strategy.

Kaziocore: After I voted AKCPluto he put a FOS on him. However, he didn't really just nod agreement and move along; instead he gave another (valid) reason for his FOS. He decided against voting him and instead voted Nerau to urge him to be more active. If Nerau turns out to be scum, that should go a long way towards clearing Kaziocore. In any case, the way in which he put his FOS gives him townie points in my book.

Preston: If Nerau does come up scum, it would also look good for Preston, who voted him halfway through the day. If not, then put him on the undecided list.

Anyone who I haven't mentioned hasn't done enough one way or the other. If they are townies, they should pick up their activity. While deatvert put the 4th vote on AKCPluto, that is not enough to clear him in my opinion.

Let me elaborate a little more why I placed a FOS on KevinH back then:

KevinH is easily one of the most seasoned mafia players around here. He is characterised by high activity, and well thought out reasoning and analysis of the situation. Therefore this is what is expected of him, if he wasn't like that in a game it would certainly raise suspicion.

I've not yet seen him in a mafia role, but I belive he'd be very smart about it. I suspect he would try to give some sort of help to the town just to clear himself of possible suspicion. Of course, he would probably implement some sort of flaw into his "helpful strategy" so that it may not turn out as well as we'd all expect it.

I don't know, I still have a gut feeling that he may be scum. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I'd be happy if he was WD checked at some point...I wouldn't vote for him, and I discourage anyone from doing so, but a probing couldn't hurt...

I'd rather start off with a mafia lynch than a townie lynch.

Besides...the other method...while would have worked...would allow AKCPLUTO to be alive with whatever power he had.

And we would have most likely lynched a townie (possilby a townie with a power role).

Your first line confuses me deeply, are you saying AKCpluto is a townie? I was offering a suggestion since you said mafia could 'control' who you investigate since you said you would be announcing it and if you did not, mafia would not know who you were going for and most likely would keep you role blocked (unless AKCPluto is the role blocker). The other method would NOT have been be alive. He would be dead if he's lynched, a noose kills people. What you said made no sense to me. Again on your fourth line, you hint that hes actually a townie, possibly with a power role. What kind of townie fakes their roles and gets themselves killed in this fashion?

Yes, I read the Weak Doctor role description.

Weak doctor wrote:

You a weak doctor. Every night you can give me the name of a player you want to protect; you will block one kill against them that night. If you protect a member of the mafia, you will be killed that night. You may not protect yourself.

You give your name to the moderator not to the whole town, yes you can be used as a cop when you're a weak doctor. If announced on say, a townie they aren't gunning for, they could choose not to roleblock you and continue to kill another townie they suspect are too helpful to the town. (unless you were misleading them as I referred you could do earlier). If you did that and died while visiting (if doctor is protecting you there's no other way for you to die, unless hes blocked)

I still have little idea what gibberish your first set of sentences was about.

@Martino, when I first joined the game I did not read the OP and followed with KevinH with the belief moderator picked townie roles. I voted KevinH in a slight jest to his change in playing style until I found someone who was more suspicious. AKCpluto originally claimed to be a regular townie then changed his mind to weak doctor with only one sentence posts claiming hes a newb. If he's townie, I'm surprised hes acting this way considering he played the other mafia games decently.

Sorry to disappoint you Martino but I feel it's best to take out mafia as soon as possible so that they don't influence others.

Since the lynch happened so quickly without further discussion on who I should protect...I will go with my Martino and my suspicion.

I will "protect" Chaoshawk.

Let the chips fall where they may.

Will it even register you visited that person if you are roleblocked?

How can you miscontrue that as ACKPLUTO is a townie? By allowing ACKPLUTO to not be lynched means that we would lynch someone else. A real possibility of lynching a townie (given the odds). So I said...

I'd rather start off with a mafia lynch than a townie lynch

So therefore...I roleclaimed and kept my vote on AKCPLUTO.

The other method is Martino's method. Mainly letting AKCPLUTO live and target someone else for the lynch. I know he is mafia and he has 3/4 chance of having a mafia power (ie. roleblocker, ninja, godfather). The 4th mafia is a goon who does not have any power. Knowing AKCPLUTO is mafia...I see no point in letting a townie die just to keep AKCPLUTO alive.

I realize that I might be roleblocked (unless AKCPLUTO is the roleblocker). But how will the town know whom I tried to protect during the night? Most assuredly you will not get a "the weak doctor died protecting Chaoshawk". Most likely something generic as "the weak doctor died last night". So if I don't tell the town (or the town doesn't help choose the protected target)....how will the town know which player is mafia that was responsible for my death?

You are seriously grasping at straws and trying to twist my words into something that they are not.

Will it even register you visited that person if you are roleblocked?

I don't know as I've seldomly played games with a roleblocker.

I might get a message saying my attempts to protect player X was thwarted.

How can you miscontrue that as ACKPLUTO is a townie? By allowing ACKPLUTO to not be lynched means that we would lynch someone else. A real possibility of lynching a townie (given the odds). So I said...

There's the problem, you mentioned lynching someone else which would possibly be a townie, I didn't mention that either and it confused me. I didn't want you to change your vote, I just wanted to suggest some strategy in regards of using your power as weak doctor. I must of read Martino's post and thought of my own idea, I don't think we should let AKCPLUTO live either. Sorry for the confusion, I see your point now in regards to the generic message of your demise when you pick a target.

Yes, I read the Weak Doctor role description.

Yes I give the name to the MOD and I will also tell the town whom I'm protecting.

The doctor can only protect me from a nightkill from mafia.

The doctor CANNOT protect me from a bad effect resulting from my ability/powers.

So IF I happen to protect a mafia...I will die as a result from it.

The exception is if I tried to protect the Godfather (who can allow the protection to take place) and he lets me live.

Or I was roleblocked...which means I was prevented from protecting the player.

IF you are a townie...

You should be happy that I'm protecting you.

If I don't die ... then you are either a townie or godfather.

For Day 2....Can everyone please make 2 votes (one for the lynch and one for me to protect)?

For example...

Vote: player A - this will be the person you want to lynch.

WD: player B - this will be the person you want me to protect.

We get 2 sets of info this way.

Which should help narrow down the field of suspects.

Unofficial Vote Count

AKCPLUTO (8) - Electric Mango, CanucksDynasty, Deatvert, ccabal86, Chaoshawk, Kasabian, Nerau, KevinH

KevinH (1) - AKCPLUTO

Nerau (2) - Kaziocore, Preston

Kasabian (1) - Martino

Not Voting (3) - Curufinwe, Yahna, 19thSpecops

I sincerely doubt that no mafia did not vote for AKCPLUTO.

So among the 8 who voted for him...there should be at least 1 or 2 mafia in the mix (trying to appear townie).

I suspect maybe one mafia is among the inactives (ie. Curufinwe, Yahna, 19thSpecops).

I suspect (of the 8 who voted for AKCPLUTO)...

Chaoshawk - recent posts of his raised my suspicions on him.

Nerau - his "why me" raised my eyebrows

Electric Mango - his 1st vote could have been a distancing vote and couldn't withdraw his vote without drawing suspicion
