[TW-07] Pokemon Mafia - Town Wins

Featured Replies

I don't think Rafay's a Jester, it's Rafay (that Jester role is stupid and pointless anyway). Last game he made up his name (Yoda) even though he got a safe name from the Mod (TW's confirmed it at the end of the game). He's just not careful, not caring at all. He most probably made up his Jailer story not giving it to much thought.

Brewers is not lying - it would be super stupid to sacrifice oneself to get Rafay lynched (out of all players choosing Rafay? Seriously?). Sure, theoretically he / atliis can be scum bussing Rafay, but I'm not concerned about that right now. They'll surely either fully come out in 1/2 Days and share what they know or be killed by scum at night. If none of this happen they we may start getting worried.

Lord MK is acting very weird. He was fourth on the Rafay's wagon on D2 (making it just one person short to lynch him) and today he's almost defending him and jumping on the guy that is the reason of Rafay's lynching. It's almost as if he got scared on D2 that his partner, Rafay'll surely get lynched (judging by how fast wagon was forming) and he wanted to get confirmed. Unluckily wagon has lost it's momentum and today Brewers revelations have buried any chance scum could get to use Rafay's lynch (which seem to be a very probable thing) for their benefit.

Finally, as Lord MK mentions, there's a possibility that Rafay will turn out to be town, but not a jailor. Then it's Rafay's problem, not Brewer's and definitely not a reason to vote him. Town should never lie (unless they have carefully thought it out, are doing it for a really good reason and have the means to defend themselves in case their lie is uncovered). The moment every one starts lying for petty reasons is the moment mafia wins.

why not

It's simply not how I play. Last game I sat quiet (besides D1's inactive lynch attempt) until I had something worth sharing, and when I did we got the SK.

Kevin will you deny that Rafay jailed you both nights?

Something does feel off but I can't quite nail it down. I'll reread tomorrow.

Likewise. I prefer not to say stuff unless I actually have something to add. Which is why I have gone quiet for now.

In almost every game there's a moment when town has no leads and will start guessing who might be the scum. That's the moment least participating / shady characters get lynched. That's the moment you'll be among the lynch candidates. That's the nature of the game - get yourself confirmed or get lynched.

Rafay is the right lynch for today. Even if he is town, which is so unlikely at this point, his gameplay has been really really poor. He claims he jailed Kevin on N1, believes in D2 he has some hand in stopping the kill but never goes after Kevin. He jumps on Samus at the fag end of the day and instead of jailing him the following night, jails Kevin instead? Its a shame that even after playing so many mafia games, he doesn't seem to care to put in any efforts at all in his stories, whether scum hunting or defending himself. So if that is how he will play, I am prepared to lose a jailer (0.01% odds he is town) as I feel town is better off without him.

MK plays a bit weird and scummy, so cant possibly say he is scum or not but definitely someone to keep an eye on. As for the rest I haven't formed any opinions yet on them.

Also I think its time where we should start to sort people into confirmed town, possible town and possible scum groups. To start off, as I said earlier, miller (if he exists) should come forward now. I dont see any harm in that. Scum may try to take advantage of this but by doing so he may either get countered by the actual miller or by coming forward he may bring attention on himself, which will be quite a risk at this stage with so much unknowns.

I am town you idiots. Even you yourselves are saying that if I turn up town, you will vote brewsersalliance. Do it now and help us win. He will turn up mafia guaranteed.

You are not sure about lynching me. What does that say about your plan?

Yeah you're so convincing! Why did you jail Kevin both nights and yet you never went after him during the day, especially when there was no kill on N1 and you seem to believe you might have stopped the kill?

This. You talk alot about "town is going to lose if we lynch you" blah blah blah, but give us nothing to answer your actions. At this point, your words hold no weight until you offer some reasoning. You might as well be talking to a brick wall shouting the same thing over and over.

I was not trying to derail a Rafay lynch when I brought up the Jester idea.

I was just looking at the possible roles in terms of what could confirm that Rafay was not a jailer and the Jester idea occurred to me.

I am 100% in favor of lynching Rafay.

I almost hate to bring this up, but maybe he is a Jester, which is a role that wins if they get lynched.  It almost seems like he's trying to get lynched.

@TW without confirming the existence of the role, if a Jester win were to happen, would the game end right away with just the Jester winning, or would the game continue and there would be a joint win.

If a Jester were to get lynched the game would continue. I would consider a Jester to be a joint winner alongside the winning faction.

With 16 alive it takes 9 to lynch or 5 at deadline.

Deadline is 1:00pm CST on Wednesday, May 9th.

Currently in danger of mod-kill: Samus (0 day 3 posts)

Total post count at this moment:

brewersalliance 90

Jesus brewsky lol

Any chance of post count.

Any chance of an explanation? You still haven't given us any information other than "i'm town".

@TW: Quick question: Will Samus also be mod killed if we lynch Rafay before the deadline?

Yes, that would be the case.

Wow, Rafay has more posts than samus. Lol.

Samus, please correct this anomaly.

And jazzy, you are way behind, not even double figures. Try to get it up, boy.

Brewers, you are still to double my posts.

If a player reaches the majority and is hammered there would not be a mod-kill for activity.

So MK is now stating something that just isn't true, saying we have no way to stop Samus from dying... But we do. If we end the day early and hammer in Rafay Samus would not be mod killed...

So to prevent Samus going down with Rafay, I think the best course of action is to hammer him in today and get a majority Lynch on Rafay

To be fair Rafay's post count is higher because he is trying to avoid being lynched. Anyone would try and defend themselves.

He's doing a terrible job at it though

Let's not jump the gun and let @@The Warrior give us a full on explanation on mod killing and hammering lynches, because the statement that you quoted was when MK was contemplating hammering after like what 24 hours since the day started. Of course it would make sense then to not mid-kill because some people might not have even seen that the day has started. We are now about 24 hours before deadline, so the statement you quoted may not concern the situation that we're in right now. Let's wait out TW's interpretation of the activity rule regarding a majority lynch before we actually hammer Rafay and risk killing Samus in the process. I could see TW actually ruling Rafay's favor since Samus isn't just a post shy of meeting the participation requirement, he actually hasn't posted the entire day

Anyone would try and defend themselves.

Well that's the thing. He *isn't*. He has yet to provide a single possible explanation for why two separate people have both said they know with certainty that his roleclaim is false, despite multiple people (including myself) repeatedly asking him to do so. The only reason I'm not placing my vote on him at this point is that he's pretty much lynched for sure anyway and there's no point in finishing the day early. (Actually, on that point, how much longer have we got to go, guys? cbb reading through tons of posts again to find the last one from TW lol.)

Regarding the activity rule:

The rule is obviously meant to generate a minimally acceptable amount of daily activity for each player in an effort to try to at least keep all players somewhat engaged in the game. There is no "hard" way that I will translate the rule. In other words, I will allow actual game flow and participation to help determine whether or not the activity rule takes effect on a given day.

In the current situation, we have one player (Rafay) who currently has enough votes to be lynched at deadline if nothing changes. We also have one player (Samus) who has yet to post the entire day. If nothing changes before tomorrow's deadline, Rafay would be lynched and I would be inclined to allow the activity rule to mod-kill Samus because there hasn't been any participation today. I did ping Samus yesterday btw and have not yet heard a response.

On the other hand, I have a possible replacement ready and if Samus has not posted by this evening I may just move to replace him.
