We haven't been to a drive-in theater in decades, but had to get out of the house last night. All the reasons we don't go to drive-ins all came crashing back. At least they don't have those hang on your window speakers anymore.

Hope you had a nice time Lys.
Thought you all would get a fine laugh out of this. It seems for after all the baking we've been doing Robin Hood is falling short of bags, not flour.

Screen was too dark to see the darker scenes, and some people with their headlights... jeez.
Everyone was really cool about it though. No concessions were open and everyone parked with a space between. Our asshole Governor found out that people were actually having fun, and shut it down after one night. That Nazi's gonna have an awakening.

Nazi? Jesus Lys, never thought you would go full SJW. LOL
Hope all of you are doing well.
On my home front, waiting to hear when I'll return to work. Not sure when it's going to happen. I'm drinking some beers, and baking another culinary creation. The in-laws sent in a recipe for banana bread, and hubby has been whining at me to make it. It's in the oven right now.
Tried to turn in my empties this afternoon I had a pile of them. Then I discovered hubby lost my goddamn GPS. He left it on the roof of the car.
Yep.
On the roof of the goddamn car.
He bitches at me for spending four bucks on a new flush lever. Then leaves a $120.00 GPS on the roof of the f**king car.
In case anyone is interested.

Calling Sisolak a Nazi has nothing to do with social justice. It has everything to do with unconstitutional abuse of government power. Attorney General Barr is cracking down on it, and given no other choice, Trump will have to shut off the money. Things are not going well.

Spouses, right? I'm still not entirely over the almost $1000 laptop the wife spilled tea on
We're returning to the office come June 1st. We ordered a bunch textile masks to wear on the public transport. I'm on the position that it doesn't help protect you, but if everyone wears one, the risk of infection drops significantly.

Jesus, Lys. I was only twisting your tail.
ccabal, like you, I found out yesterday I'm back to the office on 1 June. All my restrictions remain in place. No travel beyond 250 km, wear a mask (I've given serious consideration to wearing my issued CBRN respirator, then I remember how much trouble I'd get it), and report in everyday.
While we are on the topic of spouses....
We are getting ready to move into the new house. Renovations are almost done. Now we need boxes to pack stuff you for transport. I had to go out yesterday to pick up a few things. Hubby asks me to go to either Lowe's, Home Depot, or Canadian Tire.
Why? He wants me to buy boxes.
Yes, buy boxes.
I tells him that I'm not going to buy boxes. Jesus at $2.88 a pop, no way, no how. I'm just going to go to the stores and ask for them.
He doesn't want me to do that, because they won't give them too me.
F**king right they will. I'm saving them money by taking them.
Nope, he doesn't want me asking for boxes at the stores.
Fine.
Guess who spent the better part of the afternoon on the base, going from recycling bin to recycling bin getting boxes?
Believe it or not, he was alright with that.
Edmonton is starting to lift the Covid restrictions. Starting with:

I'd be pissed too if I had to buy boxes just for moving. We moved not a full yer ago and since my father-in-law works at the local market, he brought us these amazing, durable boxes that the vendors simply discard.

I've been piecing together all the new IKEA furniture for my daughters new house. I haven't checked, but I think it's all from China. Oh well, I didn't buy it. I advised her to go to Walker or La-Z-Boy, but she didn't want to spend that much. She's happy... that's what matters.
I just finished binge watching "Breaking Bad" all over again... good show. We're locked down for another 15 days thanks to our Nazi Governor. It's slowly getting around that he really doesn't have the power to do what he's doing, so things may progress a little faster from here on. The wife is happy that retail can open for curbside now. I want my restaurants and casinos!
I hope all is well with all of you.

Most here is from Finland or Eastern Europe. Guess the volume they sell at means they need multiple places.

First casualty to directly affect me...
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants is closing permanately due to the shutdown. After 40 years of quality service, it's no more, and 65 people have lost their jobs.
My wife was sipping a mimosa last night in our bath and said to me... "If they started loading up box cars, promising to take everyone to Virus Protection Camps... I wonder how many of these idiots would be practicing social distancing as they climb aboard".

So, several countries are now contemplating introducing "Immunity Passports" to exempt those that have recovered from the virus from restrictions. This would essentially mean they would divide people into a biologically determined caste system - First Class citizens being able to do whatever they want and Second Class citizens required to sit at home and do nothing for their own protection of course. Well fuck that!

Damn...
Where do I go to get Covid injected directly into my veins so I can obtain an "Immunity Passport" and remain a "First Class" citizen?

To tell you the truth, I find the lab theory more and more believable. Yes, it's proven that the virus evolved naturally, but that doesn't mean they didn't accidently release a strain of coronavirus that they were observing there. A sloppy lab technician who accidently infected himself and then dropped by the market after work is all it takes, and we do know from 2018 that they were indeed, sloppy.

Plausible yes, but probably not. Heck it is very probable that the "stock-virus" from which this pandemic originated is presented in a couple labs around the world, the thing that actually made this a pandemic is rather a natural shift most probably from a pangolin transfer. That part you don't just willy nilly make in a labo, nor would you find it in "the wild" without already having an outbreak.
Meanwhile, Trump will move the "low end of the plane" further up each time it actually crosses it. Guess he thinks estimates are not meant to be crossed...

Well, it's not entirely unfeasible they were running their own natural evolution tests on the "stock virus" as you called it. Certainly not with the intent of weaponizing it, mind you, just to see how these kinds of virii can evolve, maybe learn more about them. Hell, it's the kind of test I'd run, were I in charge of a lab like that.
