Plane Crash II - Game Thread - GAME OVER!

Another day, another plane. Captain "Anger-Management" Tilden (As he was known secretly by the crew) had always been proud of how he handled the flights on his plane. Always smooth, orderly, and comfortable for the passengers. And he intended to keep it that way, he reflected, carrying his bags through the airport terminal. Today's flight was to be a tedious one over the atlantic. But never mind.

Got to keep alert, he mused as his bags went through a scanner. Terrorists were everywhere these days. The takeoff was, as always, impeccable. The passengers seemed fairly happy, apart from that hungover one complaining about the lack of painkillers, and Tilden settled himself down for a smooth flight.

A few hours into the flight, the door to the cockpit was nudged open, breaking the silence. Tilden stiffened. It was probably that flight attendant. It was no secret amongst the crew that Tilden had a thing for her. But he didn't care. He wasn't about to ruin his chances by shouting again.

"Ah, Marie, could you-"

That was as far as he got. Looking at the reflection in the window, he saw a man in plain clothes. A passenger? He was striding up to Tilden with purpose. Tilden's eyes widened as he saw the flash of a blade. He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't. A knife was swiftly drawn across his throat. He choked, swiftly passing into unconsciousness.

And yet no-one noticed the 2 dead pilots in the cockpit. Marie, the flight attendant, was about halfway through serving drinks. She glanced to the left, flashed a fake smile to the passenger before seeing he was unconscious.

She sighed, and rolled her eyes, recognising the passenger as the one with the hangover. She was about to turn away, when something caught her eye. Had he spilt coffee on himself? She sighed again, reaching for some napkins.

Wait. That wasn't coffee.

She screamed, noticing the blood spread out over the man's torso. The passenger's heads turned round to look at her. The man's pocket identified him as a Police officer.

It was happening again...

I think SinKon is a good lynch candidate, but something about it just doesn't feel right. His actions could be interpreted as scummy. I understand why hes our best candidate but, it doesn't feel like he is scum. Anyone share in that sentiment?

Also, I'm impressed with Martino's retort so I'll have to see more on that from either Electric Mango or Sir Jesus.

As for suspicions and accusations, I'm fresh out. At this point I think my vote on SinKon is out best option only because I'm really not getting scum vibes from anyone else. I'll be paying close attention to any commentary between Electric Mango and Martino, I think they'll be getting at some useful information if they keep up their dialogue.

@ Martino - I agree that we should lynch the person who has the highest chances of being scum and not the first person that comes to mind. I also agree that someone must be lynched at the end of the day.

Deadline is 16th November, at 7:30PM GMT(ish).

This gives us 9 days, 4 of which are weekends, where activity is usually low. Needless to say, we must act quickly.

Keep in mind, we just spent the last 20 pages just arguing the mechanics of the game, almost no talk was made of lynching. That changed when a plausible case was made against SinKon. Who else has a better chance of being scum right now? If you think someone else does, then make a case against them.

We have to vote for someone, so if you think SinKon is the wrong candidate, then make a case, present your facts and hunches, and make this a two horse race. Time's a tickin'.

Vote : SinKon

I gave my reasons previously on the AoD/SinKon FoS, after N1 and if no further information dissuades me from my earlier position I will push for KevinH on D2

Vote: crazyemolad

Whoa! Let me explain myself.

I can see the point of only having 3 people in a room going into the night. I believe if we get into the rooms, then the mafia won't night-kill because it will expose them with too high of a probability.

With the inactivity of crazyemolad, it will cause problems with the plan. There might be 4 in a room which could encourage the mafia to night-kill. Crazyemolad might end up in an adjacent room and then get killed as a townie where there would be 6 mafia suspects.

Finally, because a day 1 lynch is essentially random, we might as well lynch an inactive and save the hassle of recruiting a replacement.

Let the flames begin.

Well thats it.

These will be my last words.

I would like to do a short recap

The reason I died...

... What.

Un-Image-Tagged for general 'WTF-ness'.

I am speechless...

actually...Kevin and Kazio make good points. unless crazyemolad is replaced as the day draws near the end, we have to lynch him. we just can't risk any inactives...

I believe I was the first to suggest this, for the record. I'm not bragging, but I don't want you assigning unnecessary townie points to people that may not deserve them.

Also we must be sure that all players are active during the 48 hours after the lynch. If crazymolad is still inactive he will be randomly assigned a room number. This will mess up our strategy because he has roughly a 40% chance of putting a room count to 4 people or a 50% going into an unassigned room alone. This would be the worst case scenario because scum would nk him and we would not know which room the killer came from.

If crazymolad has not been replaced when the dead line approaches we must lynch him above all others.

MOD: Can you send out some invites to former mafia players like vgmaster etc?

That is actually extremely good reasoning. Actually makes way more sense to vote for crazy then SinKon....

....but I'm going to have to put up with pages of baseless accusations as SinKon's bloodlust for me continue.

ugh.. I'll do what's best for the town. :drink:

Hey, I am not blood lust against you. I was just confused.

I get confused easily, as you can tell.

If you have some time going back reading my posts, I have reasons for all my actions... although not very good ones.

But once you defeat my reasoning, I will more than lightly replace my reasoning with yours...

I just go with the best logical choice at the time.

vote: crazyemolad

Voting for crazyemolad seems such a convenient choice to make. There's no rush to lynch him right away until around 2-3 days before deadline so I suggest people hold off on jumping the gun.
yeah i remembered there was another person but not who...

Actually I'm the first one who wanted to lynch crazyemolad for his inactiveness. Then EM said another reason to lynch him after mole said that crazyemolad has requested replacement.

VOTE COUNT

SinKon (4): CanucksDynasty, Electric Mango, Aquinas, Firkked

crazyemolad (4): Sir Jesus, Kaziocore, KevinH, SinKon

Not Voting (6): Narsis, Junkahoolik, crazyemolad, Falzis, Martino

Edited by molestargazer

yeah narsis, i don't like firkked and i don't like sincon. they both seem to be changing votes too easily for my liking.

I tend to agree.

Of course, my votes have been jumping around too. But I feel like the only opinion that SinKon (and not so much Firkked) can carry is that of what the town also carries.

Interesting.

Either way it makes little difference, if crazyemolad goes then our inactive problem is gone. If SinKon goes then he may beable to replace crazyemolad.

Regardless I'll wait and see if this turns into a bigger bandwagon than it is now.

I'm leaving my vote on SinKon. I agree we'll need to get rid of Crazyemolad at the end of the day. If it comes to that, I'll switch my vote to him at that time.

RESERVED VOTE: Crazyemolad

Now you can't say I bandwagoned! At this time I would still rather lynch SinKon but inactivity will throw a huge wrench in our plans.

@MOD: I don't intend for that vote to force any technical obligations on the game, just hoping to have a little justification at the end of the day. We'll see how far it gets me...

I am not unvoting but have some additional thoughts.

If we all get into the right rooms, I predict that the scum will not night-kill and thus we will have no firm suspects tomorrow.

On the other hand, if crazyemolad is randomly put into an adjoining and killed by the scum, we would at least have 6 suspects rather than 0.

Of course, the best outcome will be that crazyemolad is lynched as scum.

After I reread some of my posts I notice something weird. CanucksDynasty agreed with me when I was for no lynch then gave me a formula to work with, then turned around and jumped on me. In fact, he was the first one who jumped me after Sir Jesus. Just like to point it out.

@SinKon - As mentioned in earlier posts...the reason for a lynch is to get voting patterns (useful in later rounds) and to get max 3 people into 4 rooms. Such that if a nightkill were to happen...we would have 50% chance to lynch mafia. If no nightkill happens...then we can avoid a lynch on D2 (provided we are still in the plane) to allow the cop to do another investigation. If we go with a no lynch...then if nightkill happens...we would have 3 suspects instead of 2. The town doesn't necessarily need to lynch on D2. Thus the status quo remain.

This could be a viable option.

Anyone else has thoughts on this?

The only problem I see is that in the previous plane crash game ... there was X days and we were rescued.

The mafia and town did not win.

Only the survivor won (whose win condition was to be alive at the end game).

No - Lynch Strategy for D1 and D2...

D1 - no lynch

N1 - nk in room with 4 people (3 suspects = 2 townies + mafia #1) = 1 dead townie

D2 - no lynch

N2 - nk in room with 3 people (2 suspects...I presume it'll be the same group) = 1 dead townie

D3 - mis-lynch = 1 dead townie

N3 - nk from mafia #1 = 1 dead townie

D4 - lynch mafia #1 = 1 dead mafia

N4 - nk from mafia #2 = 1 dead townie

D5 - ?

So at the beginning of D5 ... we get 5 dead townies and 1 dead mafia.

Same result as lynching on D1 but it takes one extra day (ie. D5 instead of D4).

Yeah...you're going to take a beating...

While I don't agree with KevinH and SJ no lynch stance...somehow their recent posts makes me less suspicious of them.

I did have suspicions about AoD before he asked for a replacement.

He posted very little and didn't contribute much.

Now SinKon has replaced him.

And he comes out guns blazing on SJ, flops between no lynch and lynch, and back to SJ.

Not sure what to think about that.

Normally I'd give newbies a free pass on D1.

So they don't get turned off from the game.

But my gut is telling me different.

I get the feeling that SinKon may be trying a bit too hard.

Maybe it's his first game and all.

I don't know.

I am not unvoting but have some additional thoughts.

That's WIFOM. Or if not, like reverse psychology. Wouldn't mafia love to kill someone and have a bigger pool of suspects?
