Plane Crash II - Game Thread - GAME OVER!

Another day, another plane. Captain "Anger-Management" Tilden (As he was known secretly by the crew) had always been proud of how he handled the flights on his plane. Always smooth, orderly, and comfortable for the passengers. And he intended to keep it that way, he reflected, carrying his bags through the airport terminal. Today's flight was to be a tedious one over the atlantic. But never mind.

Got to keep alert, he mused as his bags went through a scanner. Terrorists were everywhere these days. The takeoff was, as always, impeccable. The passengers seemed fairly happy, apart from that hungover one complaining about the lack of painkillers, and Tilden settled himself down for a smooth flight.

A few hours into the flight, the door to the cockpit was nudged open, breaking the silence. Tilden stiffened. It was probably that flight attendant. It was no secret amongst the crew that Tilden had a thing for her. But he didn't care. He wasn't about to ruin his chances by shouting again.

"Ah, Marie, could you-"

That was as far as he got. Looking at the reflection in the window, he saw a man in plain clothes. A passenger? He was striding up to Tilden with purpose. Tilden's eyes widened as he saw the flash of a blade. He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't. A knife was swiftly drawn across his throat. He choked, swiftly passing into unconsciousness.

And yet no-one noticed the 2 dead pilots in the cockpit. Marie, the flight attendant, was about halfway through serving drinks. She glanced to the left, flashed a fake smile to the passenger before seeing he was unconscious.

She sighed, and rolled her eyes, recognising the passenger as the one with the hangover. She was about to turn away, when something caught her eye. Had he spilt coffee on himself? She sighed again, reaching for some napkins.

Wait. That wasn't coffee.

She screamed, noticing the blood spread out over the man's torso. The passenger's heads turned round to look at her. The man's pocket identified him as a Police officer.

It was happening again...

I think there are veterans out there who are mafia.

I have good feelings from CD being townie for now.

I'm suspicious of Martino only because he's a vet and a crafty player and doesn't have any stand out townie moves IMO.

Narsis, I'm not sure on, he seems townie but maybe he's tricking us.

If I voted right now it would probably be for Martino but I will review more later

agh i'm sick of this new EM! your old playing style was much more...assertive. also made reading you a lot easier. ;)

It was easier playing when I could view this forum at work, sadly that is no longer an option. I struggle to find a big enough chunk of time at home to sift through this gigantic string of posts to make solid accusations.

With the weekend coming up, I plan on making a case full of accusations and will let everyone know exactly where I stand. I'll try not to disappoint.

ALIVE

1. Narsis I could go either way on this one. I'm secretly hoping that he is mafia and made up this great story of being role blocked. This move to me points to Narsis' critical point. He claimed to be role blocked when he was already thought by some to be pro-town. If you're playing the odds, the mafia would not do this. This is also precisely the reason why no one would suspect of him and it would be quite the gamble if he went for it.

3. Electric Mango Townie

5. Samus I tried to think back of anything about Samus that stood out and I couldn't. I can't tell if it's intentional or not.

8. SinKon I tend to think of him as pro-town. I've never labeled him as scum and only voted for him on day 1 because there was no one else that I considered guilty either. I think only pro-town players play the game as Sinkon does.

9. Falzis I can't tell what to think about Falzis. He's had good posts but I seem to have better protown vibes from other players. I'd have to but you down as scum if I had to bet money.

11. Aquinas You've had good posts but I've got to pick 3 mafia's and you've made the short list. I haven't seen you do anything pro-town like or scum like. Your problem is that I've seen more pro-town indications from other players. If I had to pick, you're scum.

12. CanucksDynasty I want to believe that you are pro-town as well but I'm always suspicious of you. You are always very challenging for me to read. During most games you seem to challenge my motives or at least question by alignment. This game you seem to be giving me pro-town points almost the entire game and that just creeps me out. You've had some good posts that I gave you some pro-town points for and I'm leaning towards you to be a townie, although I wouldn't be surprised to see that you've tricked me.

13. Martino I have to believe that out of everyone that Martino is the one I feel most strongly about being mafia. This is one of the first games that I remember playing with him that I haven't seen him do really good analysis. The only part of the game that I remember him being proactive in was the math odds battle back on Day 1 or 2. Other than that, he's just hung out and seemed to just play the middle of the pact. Something seems off and I'm listing him as mafia.

I actually think I have been far more useful today than most others. Where others have suggested a panick roleclaim by the cop, I've come up with a strategy that allows the cop to only come out if his information will actually improve our lynch. Since nobody has disputed Narsis' claims of being roleblocked, it would obviously be the end of our cop's usefulness if we force him to claim. Yet roleclaiming no matter what is what some of the players you consider townies have proposed. In fact, CDs only concern seems to be getting the game over with, not using the best strategy. Perhaps it's not that he doesn't care about the best strategy, but just not about the best strategy for the town?

I've also made a good case against SinKon for two consecutive days now. On day 1 some of you wanted to lynch SinKon because he was annoying. While I agree that he was annoying, this was not a good enough reason to lynch him. However, the more suspicious moves he has started to pull, the less people seem to be suspicious of him. Yesterday he not only jumped onboard of a weak bandwagon, he also casually tried to line up the next target. I pointed this out, made my case against him and for a bit it seemed like he might get lynched. Then the SJ lynch happened. Without much of a case 6 players saw fit to vote and lynch SJ. Since SJ turned out to be a townie, and since this wasn't the first time SinKon escaped a close lynch, I'm tempted to believe it is in someone's best interest to keep him alive. Which seems to indicate that he is scum.

Finally, today starts and he demands that the cop roleclaim immediately. I can't believe I'm the only one thinking this is scummy. He (and CD) are asking that the cop comes forward, no matter if he has any useful information or not. With a roleblocker active, this will render the cop completely useless. So I obviously disagree that I am not being proactive enough. I've lead the charge against SinKon yesterday, I'm leading it again today, and I've come up with a way for the cop to remain hidden unless he can directly improve our lynch odds. I'd say that is more than the majority of the other players can claim.

@Martino - so you believe that SinKon and I are linked? I don't know where you've been on D1 and D2...but I rode SinKon pretty hard.

My reasoning for the cop to roleclaim is still valid. Today may be LYLO. This cryptic roundabout voting only serves to muddy the waters and cause confusion. I mean how many pages are we at now (pg 58) and are only on D3???

I still think either you or EM is scum...so ...

Vote: Martino

BTW...I picked up an item on D1. So I don't think getting items are based on percentages.

Ok so why are you only telling this now? What item did you pick up and what did you do with that item??

My god, I've been asking that question for ages.

Anyway, let's look at SinKon. Since he was saved from yesterday because of CD's rationale that everybody voted for SinKon therefore SinKon couldn't be scum, it's worth a post revisiting that. I said that scum could be bussing. Narsis agreed on the possibility but CD said it's unlikely. I think not. Let's look at why.

Whereas Martino approached it from the question of whether or not SinKon was scum, I will approach it from the question of whether or not SinKon is town.

If he was town, why wasn't he killed after three days of almost lynches? Mafia had an easy kill. But they didn't take it. Why could that be? The alternatives were junk, crazy, and Sir Jesus. Now junk was equally suspicious because of some scummy moves, but crazy was an opportunity to save SinKon. He was an inactive, he was a townie, he had the eyes of other townies for inactiveness. The same reason was forwarded partially for SJ (who became inactive in the latter part of the day).

Why?? I just can't imagine a townie, who has been at near lynch for three times, could survive it all. He's not sure ball scum, but he ain't sure ball townie either.

EBWOP

Ok so you got an item D4? What is it?

Ok so why are you only telling this now? What item did you pick up and what did you do with that item??

My god, I've been asking that question for ages.

I mean I got the item on N1.

It's a passive item...meaning it will work if conditions are met.

In order for it to work...mafia had to target me since I'm just a vanilla townie.

So I kept it quiet hoping for them to night kill me.

That didn't happen.

Would mafia care if SinKon (if he was townie) got lynched or not?

NO...cuz we did a good job of running around like chickens with our head cut off.

Mafia would be best served to sit back and let the town hang themselves.

Huh? So why tell it now... you could still be NKed if you're really townie.
@Martino - so you believe that SinKon and I are linked? I don't know where you've been on D1 and D2...but I rode SinKon pretty hard.

Where did I say you were linked? I said you both came up with the anti town suggestion of the cop roleclaiming no matter if he has any useful information. That makes both of you suspicious.

My reasoning for the cop to roleclaim is still valid. Today may be LYLO. This cryptic roundabout voting only serves to muddy the waters and cause confusion.

No, your reasoning still suffers from the same flaw. The cop may not have any useful information or the information that the cop has may not change our lynchtarget. In both situations the cop would do much better to lay low and get another investigation in.

I mean how many pages are we at now (pg 58) and are only on D3???

The first 40 or so pages was a discussion about the set up and the odds. Yes, that did start to get a bit old near the end. But if anything, there has been too little discussion the last two days, not too much. Just look at how fast SJ got lynched and where that got us.

I still think either you or EM is scum...so ...

Vote: Martino

I can hardly defend myself against the claim that I am a veteran player who is still alive. But if you look at the set up, there are plenty of veteran players still alive. So I'm not sure why that makes me more suspicious than the others. What is worse, however, is that you decided to vote even though most people seemed to agree that we need to be careful today. If it is indeed lylo and if you are not scum, we are but one townie vote away from a loss.

BTW...I picked up an item on D1. So I don't think getting items are based on percentages.

That didn't happen.

Yeah right. Merely hinting at the fact that you picked up an item would have probably been enough for the mafia to target you. Instead you kept it quiet all this time and now when you finally tell us you have an item you immediately tell us that it works in our benefit if the mafia targets you. Which ensures that the mafia will not target you and thus completely negates the positive effect your item could have had. Additionally, it gives you an explanation why you will not be night killed. Which is quite convenient considering that you have started to target all veteran players, which you certainly are yourself.

Well...it's been 3 nights already.

Who else has gotten an item??

Anybody else got a "passive" item?

The fact is...I did get an item.

Believe me or don't believe me.

Huh? So why tell it now... you could still be NKed if you're really townie.

IF I get nk'd...then that works for me.

Target me and not the cop....works for me.

Lynch me...if you think I'm lying...works for me.

I'm just a vanilla townie...so I don't really care anymore.

Where did I say you were linked? I said you both came up with the anti town suggestion of the cop roleclaiming no matter if he has any useful information. That makes both of you suspicious.

It's possible that it's LYLO...we need all the information we can get.

No, your reasoning still suffers from the same flaw. The cop may not have any useful information or the information that the cop has may not change our lynchtarget. In both situations the cop would do much better to lay low and get another investigation in.

IF we get the wrong lynch anyways...it's game over...so how the hell would he another investigation in? Instead of wasting our time of 8 possible suspects...I'm wanting it to be reduced down to a possbile of 6 suspects. We then would have a 50/50 chance getting scum.

The first 40 or so pages was a discussion about the set up and the odds. Yes, that did start to get a bit old near the end. But if anything, there has been too little discussion the last two days, not too much. Just look at how fast SJ got lynched and where that got us.

Fine...then discuss. I haven't seen anybody say anything interesting the last few days.

Yeah I voted...that doesn't mean someone else would for you right away...now does it.

Yeah right. Merely hinting at the fact that you picked up an item would have probably been enough for the mafia to target you. Instead you kept it quiet all this time and now when you finally tell us you have an item you immediately tell us that it works in our benefit if the mafia targets you. Which is quite convenient considering that you have started to target all veteran players, which you certainly are yourself.

IF it's LYLO...it's time to lay all the cards on the table to give the town all the info they can get.

SERIOUSLY...I can be considered a veteran in this game. Wouldn't it have been easier for me to lay low and not cause all this @#$ and draw suspicion on myself? I could have easily said...yeah SFOS SinKon...so let's lynch him.

IF you truly think I am scum, then you must also assume SinKon is scum...cuz that is the only way things would make sense.

Canucks Dynasty you made three fatal flaws in my mind, all of which Martino discovered.

1. Your asking, and then defending of the cop to role claim does not ring true. You argue that it reduces the odds to 50/50, which is not true, and even if it was, it doesn't help us. Let's say that we decide to lynch someone the cop has not investigated. Would it really matter if the cop had role claimed? We would still have a valid lynch candidate. The cop should only role claim if the town was set to lynch someone he knew was innocent or if he has found a scum.

Also, it is unlikely to bring us 50/50 odds. It is probable that the cop has already investigated someone who has been lynched or night killed. I'd say the odds would only be reduced 30-35%. Martino said that it also leaves the cop to be set up to be role blocked, so why role claim unless absolutely necessary.

I can forgive Sinkon because he is new, but for a veteran like CD, it's unforgivable.

2. You voted for someone. It only takes one foolish townie to vote for Martino and then the scum win the game. I cannot forgive you for that either. You should know better.

3. As Martino said, you had no reason to role claim that you found an item. That information does not help the town one bit and only serves to make you look guilty. If what you said was true, than you just missed your chance to be a hero to the town. Why would someone who found an item that works against scum on night actions role claim that only to tell us that finding items is not percentage based.

Great job to Martino for pointing all of this out. This is the most damning evidence that I have seen in this game. 1, 2, 3 strikes your out CD.

What does everyone else think?

Well, I want to hear more from SinKon and Narsis but I do agree that CD is acting scummy, he could still be a townie who is impatient and getting hasty (since he has said he is tired of this game that has lasted for months).

I think Martino and Electric Mango have issued some excellent points. I won't go down line by line because I would just end up restating most of it. Electric Mango, its good to see you back in action. I missed your nice long on point posts. It seems to me that Cannucks Dynasty is scum for flaw I have seen in many accused scum/non town roles. I noticed it multiple times in the past few games. It seems that when scum start getting accused they start getting really agitated. The demeanor in Cannucks Dynasty's posts is more often than not a cool calm and collected deduction. That demeanor 180ed as soon as the heat started dropping. I grant you all this however, I would not cast a vote on him just yet. I think he is more frustrated than anything. It seems to me that he is just tired and I will allow him the benefit of the doubt for the time being. For now, I am needed at work but, I am going to investigate both Martino and Electric Mango's post after that. I am surprised that they both start speaking out at the same time after being relatively dormant until now.

Anyway, that is what I am thinking and where I am heading next. I don't want to go to work...ugh.

I am surprised that they both start speaking out at the same time after being relatively dormant until now.

I can't speak for Martino, but I promised I would post more when I had time. The weekend came and I was able to sit down and concentrate for more than 5 minutes. CD's last couple of posts just jumped out at me as well, making it a lot easier to find evidence without having to sift through all the pages of text.

This to me is the best evidence we've seen the entire game. I'd like to see how CD responds, although I have a feeling I already know what he's going to say.

There are 9 of us left (assuming 6 townies and 3 mafia).

We have 8 rooms available to us.

It's obvious that sticking together no longer has the previous benefits.

And since it seems that there are no movement restrictions.

I suggest we spread out with one room having 2 occupants.

BTW...I picked up an item on D1. So I don't think getting items are based on percentages.

After the rule removal, we decided it would be best to spread out to find items. CD says he

received an item Day1 and doesn't believe they are found by percentages. Knowing this, why

would he think a spread strategy would be best?

Perhaps there are items that can protect or pick up on power roles in a room. By spreading us

out, the scum could pick us off 1 at a time w/out fear of being detected. I suggest we all sleep

together tonight unless someone else has a better idea.

CD when did you really get an item? D1? N1? D3/4?
CD when did you really get an item? D1? N1? D3/4?

I got the item on N1 (during the room assignments).

The cop should only role claim if the town was set to lynch someone he knew was innocent or if he has found a scum.

Think of it this way...I believe it's LYLO. IF I WAS REALLY MAFIA...shouldn't I have kept my mouth shut and let the heat be placed on SinKon? IF NARSIS is the cop...what does it matter anyway since he's being roleblocked??? IF someone else is the cop...we would have the game in our hands right now.

Only if the one's investigated were KevinH and Kaziocore. Which means it has to be Narsis or EM (you) are the cop. but I doubt you are the cop. If the cop allowed a townie to get lynched...then that's a pretty stupid cop.

I can forgive Sinkon because he is new, but for a veteran like CD, it's unforgivable.

2. You voted for someone. It only takes one foolish townie to vote for Martino and then the scum win the game. I cannot forgive you for that either. You should know better.

It's one vote on someone I think is mafia. You're on that list too BTW.

I'm doing what every townie should do. Provide as much info as possible to help other townies to decide what's best course of action to take. How can I be the hero of the town...IF we mis-lynch and it's game over?????

Great job to Martino for pointing all of this out. This is the most damning evidence that I have seen in this game. 1, 2, 3 strikes your out CD.

What does everyone else think?

I'm betting that you and Martino are mafia. Both of you have laid pretty low and haven't said much during all of 50+ pages.

AND I must be a newbie mafia to have wrapped everything in a nice bow for you to lynch me (...sarcasm)

Anyway, that is what I am thinking and where I am heading next. I don't want to go to work...ugh.

That's exactly the reason. This game has lasted 3 months!!!! 3 months!!!

IF I was mafia...Why o why would say something remotely suspicious when the game is one mis-lynch away???

yeah..yeah.. WIFOM...I don't care anymore.

After the rule removal, we decided it would be best to spread out to find items. CD says he

received an item Day1 and doesn't believe they are found by percentages. Knowing this, why

Duh...I suggested the spread strategy cuz that's the only I can be sure of mafia (via the item) if they targeted me.

Unfortunately...they didn't and for some reason chose Kaziocore.
