  1. heh yes. and i understand why it would work. but what if there isn't a cop? tbh i'm generally against a "follow the cop" strategy until we know there is a cop out there. another thing: what happens in a game where the mafia can't nk and lynches continue? in almost every game the mafia is going to lose. by treating the day as a usual game and taking advantage of the map to limit or prevent mafia from nk'ing at all we could fairly easily win.
  2. heh i have the same feeling.
  3. EBWOP: stop posting when i'm typing! as for the lynch-no lynch debate...i don't see any harm int his case. in normal games yeah it's kinda obvious we want to lynch first, but CD does make a good point. the thing that makes me...worry...is that we are letting the mafia control how we get our information. sure we narrow down a list...but the mafia chose who dies and thus who it gets narrowed down too. and what happens if mafia choose not to nk? then information is withheld entirely from us! i believe that combining the information from a lynch with that of an nk would be very beneficial at determining who is scum and who isn't.
  4. actually that would work very well me thinks. over the course of two nights we could figure out more or less what benefits are out there(of course anti-town could lie about a benefit) while still narrowing down the list. i think we have a winner. at least imo. as for them being randomly assigned...yeah i would figure as much as well. even so assuming one lynch and one nk per day...we could have all the scum more or less figured out by the end of night 2, and at the very least 1 or two. so the question now is...how do we choose who goes where? imo the first couple people could choose of their own free will between the four sections until one is full (2 or 3 or 4 people) in which we say no more. and if someone joins a full section, we eye them very heavily... and some mroe ponderings: MOD: will the person be told what benefit they got regardless of whether it comes into play or not? Yes.
  5. EBWOP: didn't notice CD's reply before i posted: no lynch? tbh i think that would be a bad idea. you should know that the information we gain from VCs and the like is as useful as anything we might get from the night.
  6. depends. splitting into groups of 2 and 3 and leaving 4 and 6 empty would essentially split the town into groups of 6, 7, 4, and 5 depending on who dies. grouping into sections 2, 3, 7 and 8 however limits this to groups of 3, 3, 3, and 4. last i checked 3-4 is less than 4-7. thus it would narrow down the search much more effectively to group into sections , 3, 7, and 8. also, if we split over the entire map in groups of 1s, 2s, and 3s...it is possible to have groups of 5-6. not really as good at narrowing things down, but gives us full coverage of the map. the way i see it it all comes down to: do we want to figure out what the map benefits are or do we want to take advantage of splitting into smaller groups to narrow out the scum? imo scum hunting is more desirable then any benefits we might get. even so...it might not hurt to spread out for night 1 and get an idea of what there is out there.
  7. doing some quick math: if we want to limit the ability of power roles as much as possible(not really a bad idea for the first night) then splitting into areas: 2, 3, 7, and 8 in groups of 3 and one of 4 will mean that whoever dies must have been targetted by someone in their section, greatly narrowing down the suspect list. although we do limit what pro-town power roles can do consider: 1) they likely won't have someone in particular they want to target(or won't mind picking someone else) 2) there will be little to no additional limitations of who they can target nor would there be any less information available to them. so at least for night one(and probably night two as well) i think that our best move is to split into groups of 3 and 4 spread out over sections 2, 3, 7, and 8.
  8. hmm...so like section 4 with 3, section 1 with 2 and section 9 with 2? or something similar. come to think of it that would definitely narrow down suspect lists and the like. i'm assuming of course that section 4 and 1 aren't connected as well. MOD: just to confirm but are section 4 and 1 connected?(and likewise 6 and 9) No. also i would like to hear why EM FOS'd Aquinas and Kevin...
  9. spreading out does have its benefits...but we do need to be careful about it. sure we spread out but scum could more or less fairly easily put people in such a position as to be capable of targetting everyone. so as a method to avoid getting killed by scum...not necessarily going to work. i guess it would narrow the list somewhat though. what i think would make a bigger effect would be seeing in what order and how/why people choose their location. i mean if we get together and say: you go here and you go here it doesn't really give us a good idea of who's mafia and who's not. anyway i think that for at least tonight when it comes we should spread out with at least one person in each area. most will have two. so that aside... i guess the question now is...who is scum?
  10. right which is why i said for sake of flavour and curiosity. so about the locations...do you guys think we should try and figure out how they work and attempt to take advantage of them, or do you think they are more side things that might help or add a bit of a new dimension but aren't worth spending much time if any trying to figure out?
  11. T.T i really would prefer to do something more productive then the RVs but whatever. actually...i kinda think it wont be as similar. considering: 1) in the first game there were two planes compared to just one here. this means that a crash is not actually needed for the game to play out. we also dont have any of the vote splitting nor likely will anyone get knocked out after the crash(if we do). 2) the plane is what holds the map so unless he has a map for the island(or whatever) as well with similar or the same bonuses...then what's the point of having the map? the map alone makes this a very different set up then the previous one. 3) in chatting with mole he mentioned that the game wouldn't end early like the last one. of course he may have changed his mind since then(it was back around his replacement in Mage Wars), but i doubt it. 4) iirc mole also mentioned there were some new roles that he himself devised for the sake of the game. so what does this mean? the game is quite a bit if not significantly different from the previous. of course this block of text was more or less entirely unnecessary and just consists of me saying: dont assume anything.
  12. hmmm...just out a curiosity and something i'm pondering...: the flavour text says we crash in a few days time...yet if we kill the mafia will we not crash anyway? as for crashing itself...i'm fairly certain that it won't actually kill anyone if it does happen while the game is running and i doubt it will end the game. in fact, i doubt that it will matter at all. but for the sake of flavor and interest...what happens if the mafia do die? is the plane saved? or do we all die in some fiery crash, essentially and for the purpose of flavor, defeating the purpose of even hunting the mafia?
  13. fun fun fun! modding was fun but man i love playing just as much. so...shall we do the usual RVS...or shall we start with something more productive? not sure what exactly...
  14. oh i got this really cool pic that would be perfect! now if i could only find the time to do some cool stuff with it...
  15. yeah that works fine too.

thought i missed something any my thoughts on the game...: i must congratulate Falzis who, like CD said, avoided 3 straight lynches when i figured that he was done for. as for the nk scenario...i really didn't expect both Kevin and EM to die in the first two days. if Kevin hadn't died day 1 and there had been two nks(assuming Kevin and Falzis both nk'd) then i think that SJ's knowledge of EM killing wouldn't have been nearly as powerful. in fact, that's the main reason i included the vig, as a counterbalance against the Oracle. anyway the only things i can think of that would have had any sort of major change with the lynches staying the same for the first day or 2 would have been to either give a possibility of SJ failing and to figure out a way to give Falzis additional nk abilities, but limit them of course. after all, it defeats the purpose of having him capable of losing his abilities when someone dies to let him retain that ability after death... but yeah glad you guys liked the game. i might try a remake sometime in the future.
  17. 7 votes for Plane Crash II means it wins. cmon not a single vote for my game?

Try to keep posts on topic. The "End of Day 6(man this is a long game)" VC Falzis - 4 (junkahoolik, Aquinas, CanucksDynasty, angel of doom) CanucksDynasty - 2 (Falzis, Sir Jesus) "Man it's taking forever to find these mages," said CanucksDynasty, obviously frustrated. As the day dragged on, suspicion shifted amongst the surviving members of the town. From Falzis, to CanucksDynasty, to junkahoolik, to Sir Jesus...it seemed that almost everyone was a suspect. But in the end the majority agreed on killing Falzis next. As the town approached, Falzis grew silent and grim. With a flick of his wrist, CanucksDynasty was blasted to pieces by lightning. "What was that!" cried Aquinas. "The summoner," replied Sir Jesus. Leaping forward Sir Jesus also began shooting lightning, although in Falzis' direction. Meanwhile, molestargazer/angel of doom began putting CanucksDynasty back together... "Let's see, his heart goes here...an arm there...his stomach there...wait a minute what's this thing?(holding the spleen) oh maybe it goes here...yes that seems to work! Pop a knee back in place, straighten his spine, and seal up the cuts...," mumbled aod. After putting CD's body back together, he blasted it with lightning. Of course this lightning healed the body. CanucksDynasty gets up and walkshobbles toward Falzis, hoping to join in the crowd attempting to overpower him. As the crowd closed in from behind, Falzis and Sir Jesus were locked in a duel of wits, magic, and lightning. Between them an ebbing ball of lightning/darkness crackled and surged with energy. One of these bolts strikes CD and his body again blows into pieces. "Not again," said aod, beggining to pick up the pieces and stick them back together. As the ball of energy grew, it seemed to become more and more unstable. Finally it burst! Lightning, rocks, fire, darkness, light...it all burst forth in a massive wave of magical energy. Both Sir Jesus and Falzis were thrown back from the blast. As Falzis stood, the town attacked and tackled him to the ground. "Fools," muttered Falzis, calling upon the forces of magic and darkness to throw off the attackers. Of course that didn't happen. As they dragged Falzis to his feet, they finally looked up... and saw... a massive flaming golem with lightning and shadow... whose fist struck down with great fury and might... and smashed Falzis into oblivion, leaving a nice sized crater. Now of course you would expect all the townies holding onto Falzis to be dead, but it is not so! A magical shield of energy created by aod at the last second saved all of their lives(except CanuckDynasty who was blown into pieces again). aod sighed and began picking up the pieces yet again. Meanwhile, SJ was staring at the massive golem thing trying to figure out what just happened. All of a sudden... the golem vanished!... leaving no trace. And all lived happily ever after(except for CanucksDynasty who had a limp, an arm that bent backwards, and spleen problems the rest of his life). Falzis, Summoner(One man "mafia"), went down in a blaze of glory Day 6. The town of Archanus wins! Congratz! (Martino, KevinH, Sir Jesus, CanucksDynasty, junkahoolik, and Aquinas) Night actions etc. to come shortly.
