Ferguson Aftermath
Why should the officer used a taser? Because of fear of starting a riot? Fear of backlash for shooting an African American? Any time a police officer discharges there firearm it is because it is the absolute last measure that can be taken. They know that pulling the trigger will bring relentless scrutiny. If your life was on the line, and your only option to protect yourself and those around you was to discharge your firearm, would you do it? Or would you risk possible career ending injury or immediate death? I can guarantee you that every single military member, policeman, security guard, bodyguard, etc.. . Has this exact mindset before the draw their weapon. Its an incredibly difficult decision making the choice to take someone's life and its a decision I hope to never have to make. Its not something to take lightly and whatever decision you end up choosing will likely haunt you for the rest of your life.

Venezuela to send oil to Palestine
I should note that the US isolation policy is what helped World War 2 get started. Even the relaxed mindset after the Cold War helped the success of the 2001 Trade Center attacks. As much as I would love for our country to shut itself out to half of the world, we are too powerful and we have enemies out there who plan to do us harm.

Ferguson Aftermath
As a college graduate with a Criminal Justice degree, I should point out that tasers are never used to supplement lethal force. Tasers also are not always reliable either. 2 barbs must connect to deliver the charge and one of them sometimes fails to connect. Especially if the suspect is wearing heavy clothing. Lethal force is used when deemed absolutely necessary and any other less than lethal response would be inadequate to deescalate the situation. As for firing so many bullets Officers are trained to keep shooting center mass until the threat stops. Its easy to deliver accurate rapid fire at close range so the police officer kept shooting until the suspect was incapacitated. This is why you hear on the news police officers fired 16, 20, or more rounds at a suspect. Because the suspect was still considered a threat. We also don't know what kind of bullets officer are using. Most use either 9mm or .45ACP Glocks. 9mm ballistic capabilities have come a long way in terms of stopping power I've the years but unless specific expanding rounds were used, it would have largely ineffective. .45 rounds on the other hand pack a large punch and transfer more energy. Less bullets have to be fired since they often stop a target quickly.

US Elections 2014
This is how I predict things are going to play out over the next 2 years. Senate and House will both pass bills that hold Republican support. Obama will look at it and likely veto every single bill that comes on his desk, unless a large share of Democrats voted for it. Once that continues for months and months, support will have all but eroded for Obama as people will view him as the man holding things up. Democrat House members and Senators will start jumping ship and voting for Republican sponsored bills for fear they will lose their Congressional seating in 2016. We may even start seeing over riding of Presidential vetoes as early as next year. This election is really like 2006 all over again, except the roles are reversed. Both parts of Congress went Democrat, and Bush slowly turned into a lame duck president. Then 2008 happened and elected a Democratic President and kept both parts of Congress. Because public support was at a major low for Republicans. This is why I expect a Republican candidate to win in 2016. All the Republicans really have to prove is that Obama and Democrats are standing in the way of progress, and public opinion will easily be swayed. Pointing out past failures will also reinforce this. Hilary is the only potential Democrat candidate with even a chance at winning the election. Almost solely based on her popularity because her reputation as a leader is beyond tarnished based on her experience as Secretary of State. Next few years are going to be rather interesting. I expect a lot of 'action' to occur and verbal conflicts.

Calling Computer Nerds!!
In addition to what King Kong mentioned above, Sophos Anti Root Kit and Avast are great programs to have. No need to ever spend $ in fixing a computer, you can find everything for free online. Now if you can't get it to boot (and no nothing about hardware replacement), thats when you have to consult an expert.

Ebola Case in Texas
Guess we have to wait and see what happens to his family and the almost 100 other people he may have come into contact with during the start of his symptoms.

Ebola Case in Texas
There are far worse things they could spread with similar ease. Luckily they're currently obsessed with their own lands. You're absolutely right, Blade. Our country's shipping ports and railways are prime examples of how Chemical/Biological material could be smuggled into the country. In all honesty I'm actually amazed something like that hasn't already happened over the years. I graduated from College with a Criminal Justice Degree so I got a good look into how poorly our entry points are safeguarded. Consider that some of the recent 'terror incidents' over the past 5 years have failed, a good share of them was because luck happened to be on our side that day. Or the incident was only supposed to be a dry run.

Ebola Case in Texas
And it looks like the person came in contact with numerous people after showing symptoms. It wouldn't surprise me if a couple more Ebola infections emerge within the new few weeks.

Ebola Case in Texas
http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/30/health/ebola-us/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 If Ebola has finally made its way to America, lets pray it doesn't become airborne. At least for now it can only be spread through bodily fluids. Perhaps its time we start doinga better job at screening those who enter our country both legally, and illegally. Entering the the US from another continent, you get screened for symptoms and other signs. Close up our porous southern border and use tunnel detection systems to prevent illegal entry. Those wishing to cross the border legally must submit to the same level of health screening. Adopting the same screening procedures for the Canadian border wouldn't be a bad idea either. Perhaps this incident will finally convince the American public that having a secured border isn't a bad thing. Its not racist, elitist, heartless, mean, or rude to have a border that is well protected. Its about keeping America safe from threats. If a poor and impoverished Mexican national can walk across our border in search for a better life, then surely a well funded terrorist whom is hell bent on causing destruction could gain entry to America as well. The Ebola issue isn't just related to the medical field, it also is calling into play our country's abysmal Foreign Affairs policy, along with the current lack of security our borders face. On a happier note, perhaps Admin will code a new event regarding dealy viruses. And Orange Team Senate will have to vote on it.

Timed Offer: Free Tropico 3
I've gotten some free games from them in the past. Always nice when they do giveaways.

Shooting A Cannon At My Golf Course
Very cool! If you like I can fix that sideways issue. I have software that can flip the video. I've done the same thing multiple times with my phone by mistake.

I can relate to this when I tried to cancel with Comcast and Verizon
You think that is bad. I'm still getting Billing emails from Sprint after my 2 year contract expired. Which expired about 3-4 months ago. It was ridiculous the amount of work that had to go into letting it expire. First I called and said I wasn't renewing my contract (which has two phones under it). Then I get a bill a couple weeks later saying I owe a ton of money because my 2nd line is still active, which they never cancelled. When I asked them why, they acted completely dumbfounded and said they had no idea that I wanted to cancel BOTH lines. Sprint 'assumed' I only meant to cancel my first line, which then renewed my 2nd line for another 2 year contract... After days of waiting, multiple phone calls to supervisors (which I recorded as proof), they finally agreed to cancel my contract entirely. I was on the verge of reporting them to the BBB and the New York State General Attorney's Office, and decided to give Sprint one more chance at redemption. I then recieved a call from some high level supervisor saying everything was being dropped/cancelled. All I had to pay was my last month's bill which I owed them anyway (I held off on paying it until everything was sorted out. I wasn't about to give them money while they let this mistake keep building). I thought it was all done until about a month later when I received another bill, but instead it was a credit toward my account for like $1.30 or something like that. And this happens every month. My account isn't active and no credit card is tied to the account anymore. So I'm not actually receiving any money, considering I'm not owed anything. The whole situation was made much more complicated than it needed to be and that is why I will never sign another phone contract in my life. Sprint was great for me in my 4-5 years of service. I wouldv'e recommended them to anyone, right up until my contract was supossed to expire. And thats when I lost all respect for them. Sprint may be inexpensive and offer some nice perks that other carries don't have, but I would never go back to them. Sadly, no phone company these days is actually good. Almost all of them are greedy/manipulative/evil, and its all about finding the one that is only slightly less evil. Seems in the US, pay as you go phones are your best bet. If you don't like your provider or want a new phone you don't pay any fees. I personally use Straight Talk now and I love it. I pay less for 2 lines than I had with Sprint, have smartphones instead of basic low end flip phones, and unlimited everything.

Into The Wild
It would be wise to take someone whose skill set differs from yours. You can support eachother better, and in the meantime be gaining a vast array of knowledge. And make sure you get along with them. Last thing you need is getting into ridiculous arguments when preparing food supplies or building a shelter. I highly recommend beginning to learn now as it takes years to perfect survival skills. It doesn't take long to have a basic understanding, by then you will know enough just to get by. But the more knowledge you accumulate the better. It will make life in the wild a whole lot easier and much more bearable. Your local community college might offer wildlife courses, and I suggest checking if your library does as well. As for the caliber you mentioned, .308 is an excellent choice. Your two main options will be Bolt Action Rifles, or semi auto rifles based around the AR-10 system.

Into The Wild
I personally haven't gone to quite that extreme, living off the land somewhere in the wild. But over the years I've been gathering supplies for in the event of a disaster, man made or otherwise. Not exactly part of the 'prepper' sphere, but I identify with those interested in securing their own survival, independent from the rest of society. Some of the things I put major emphasis on are: Learning skills. This is the most important aspect of survival. Some people feel that if they buy tons of high quality gear and tools it will help them achieve their goals. That is very far from the truth. The best tools in the world are worthless without the knowledge to properly utilize them. Best way to learn is to have others teach you, or by reading manuals/books. Which brings me to my next point. Reading. Check out your local library for a start, and if they fail to offer much, go to a bookstore. By no means is this only regulated to print. Many excellent survival forums and blogs exist out there. In fact, almost every detail that can be found in survival books, can be found for free online. If you have a Kindle, Nook, or some other Tablet, you look into ebooks. Ebooks typically cost less than buying a printed book. Necessities. This category is very broad. It includes food, water, soap, and medical supplies. Firearms. The main tool for self defense. While ammunition can be expensive, its important to shoot regularly. Establish good shooting habits and accuracy will improve over time. Learn to completely disassemble and clean your firearms after each use. Rifles or shotguns can also be used for hunting. While pistols are more ideal for self defense, given short range and lower stopping power. Acquire firearms in popular calibers (.22, .223, 7.62x39, .308, 30-06, 9mm, 45ACP, .38 Special, .357 Mag) as ammunition is abundant. Avoid the odd ball calibers as cost is likely be higher and availability is low. Your ammunition supply should contain both Full Metal Jacket and Hollow Points (or some other expanding bullet). So I have to ask, what firearms have you been considering? I'll post one of my favorite survival sites. Its probably the best survival blog on the internet. It contains a vast array of knowledge to help you get started and pointed into the right direction. http://www.thesurvivalistblog.net/

Can I tempt some people to join me in another game?
Just out of curiosity, how many hours have you put into the game to get where you are?
-
Can I tempt some people to join me in another game?
Premise sounds decent and it looks entertaining. But from what I've read is that its an incredible time sink, unless you want to spend real life $. People say you get to a point after playing awhile where the upkeep on your weapons and ammo is just way too expensive.

Anyone a Roman Catholic?
So here is what my fiance and I went through when we were getting married. We first met with the Priest and he told us to take a questionnaire. The point of the questionnaire is to see what differences you and your fiance have. You each take it separately, and the point of it is to make sure the two of you are both on the same page regarding a variety of topics. After you sit down and discuss the results thats when the marriage preparations begin. Details are discussed about the wedding and you take a one session marriage class. After that its time to organize the rest of the wedding. A lot of people have this misconception that its a long, drawn out process. But the truth is that its relatively simple. Apart from taking the questionnaire and the marriage class, there is nothing out of the ordinary.

Anyone a Roman Catholic?
I'll type out my experiences regarding this, since I went through what you described. However I'm on my mobile so I can give you a better answer tomorrow. Some priests do the process differently. One may give more leniency regarding the prerequisites, while others can be very strict. In the case of my sister in laws husband, they chose a more relaxed priest. Her fiancé was in the Navy so the two of them couldn't attend much. Come to think of it, I don't think he had to do much when it came to converting. Granted, they had it easy because he was in the military and wasn't able to take much time off.

Battlefield 3 is free until June 3rd!
You would have loved the older Battlefield titles then. BF1942, BF2, Bad Company. Sadly, BF4 doesn't even come close to how good the series used to be. BF1942 and BF2 had some of the best modding communities. WW1 mods, WW2 mods, Vietnam Mods, Modern Combat Mods, and even Star Wars Mods. You can even find servers where people still actively play. Its a bit disappointing to see where EA has taken Battlefield today. To me, BF4 just felt like a generic arcade shooter. As steep of a learning curve these games have, I prefer playing Red Orchestra, Arma, and Insurgency. The gameplay offered is way more indepth but they can be unforgiving on newer players.

Battlefield 3 is free until June 3rd!
I've played BF4 and I found it to be awful. Way too many bugs and not enough different content from BF3. I still consider BF3 to be superior and I hope that one day, mods will eventually be allowed. I think it was last year when Bad Company 2 mods were finally supported.

I agree that wargaming companies evetually have to accept that 3D Printing will become a cheap alternative. Those who refuse to jump onboard or at least acknowledge their potentional profits, will end up like the dinosaur. They will either go out of business or realize that its simply impossible to control everything in today's modern world. However, a much more scary reality are companies that push for DRM to be installed on 3D Printers. For example, your 3D model resembles another design on the web by 95%, too bad can't print it. I read a book (3D Printing: The Next Technology Gold Rush - Future Factories and How to Capitalize on Distributed Manufacturing) in which the author stated the entire feild of 3D Printing is at risk from intruisive DRM. An emerging field cannot be held back or if too many restraints are placed on it, its development will subsequently be hampered.

Actually thats not even a GW model. Someone created a 3D Steampunk style model, influenced by Warhammer. Needless to say, if GW saw it they would probably scream IP COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. Considering all the takedown notices they send out to websites.
