Attacks in Paris
Yeah, I heard the same babble from others that I know to be morons as well... Please competently explain to me why these people were killed without using any words that lead directly to Islam? Being a mindless, gutless socialist like Hollande does not make it right, or protect him from these people. They would kill him just as fast.

US Elections 2014
Polls are always a good measure of the mood of voters at the time. Many people like to say they love Hillary... and then she starts talking and they remember why they don't want her anywhere near the White House. Mitt Romney is the most qualified, honest, and decent leader I have ever known... and anyone that can beat Ronald Reagan on my list is a very impressive human being. Hateful people have attacked him relentlessly for things that mean absolutely nothing. I hope to see him get the last laugh.

US Elections 2014
For Romney not to win the general election the Democrats still have to have a candidate that can beat him. Hillary is about as likable as Nancy Pelosi, and being a woman is not a qualification for President, it's an accident of birth. Mitt Romney is a true leader and Hillary is a true politician. What else they got? Elizabeth Warren? That's right up there with Bernie Sanders and I hope they go with her. It would be McGovern-Mondale-Dukakis all over again. It mostly comes down to who wins Florida and Ohio anyway... the country is so divided.

US Elections 2014
Yes and Yes. Jeb has a good chance with his support among hispanics. Just the thought of a third Bush makes me think "dynasty", and I think better of this country than the only family that can lead it are Bush's. Romney lost in 2012, but Nixon lost in 1960 and came back to win, so losing an election never means you can't win. Every poll since has shown that given a do over, Romney would win now. It will be a very crowded field, but I can't get myself to believe the second tier candidates can beat these two. I hope Romney knows now that he has to be himself always. When he tries to be Average Joe it just comes off so fake. He's such an Eagle Scout Goodie Two Shoes, and anytime he tries to step out of his mold it looks too forced. If he creates a clear Conservative contrast to Jeb... like apposing Common Core ect., he will be fine.

US Elections 2014
Okay it looks like Mitt will be running. All bets are off now. Mitt can raise as much money as Bush, he's already vetted, and every issue Obama lied about Romney has been right about. It's a new ballgame folks. http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/romney-to-gop-donors-i-want-to-be-president/2015/01/09/ce5f821a-9848-11e4-aabd-d0b93ff613d5_story.html

"I lost you on the alinsky reference." Saul Alinsky? Author of "Rules for Radicals"? Hillary wrote her college thesis on Saul Alinsky... knew him and loved the man.

US Elections 2014
Wow Shah... we agree 100% I think where we would differ would be how to fix the problem. Democrats, or better I should say Progressives, want to just steal the money from the rich and redistribute the money through "economic programs". Republicans want to open up the markets and make everyone, or at least more people, rich. Shutting down wealth is not the answer... creating more wealth is. The recent veto threat from Obama on the 40 hour work week is Progressives wanting to control how much money people can earn... it's criminal. To clarify something... I thought Bill Clinton did a good job as President. At least he worked well with a Republican controlled Congress. He should have controlled his libido much better, but look at his wife, explains alot. Hillary is not Bill, and this is where things will go off the rails. Bill was an old school southern Democrat... Hillary is an Alinsky Progressive. Big difference.

This is a jab at Master Samus for the whole gun debate. Fair enough observation, but Samus knows very well I would be there to help when the UK is under threat. I'm a huge fan of my English cousins.

US Elections 2014
There is so much hypocrisy in American politics in regard to how much money a candidate has made in their life. People see rich people as "not one of us", but wealth is a measure of success, and who wants to elect a failure? I don't mind when a candidate is rich... I do mind when they try to lie about it. "When we left the White House, we were dead broke. We had a hard time paying the mortgages on houses and college tuition..." Yeah, you guys know what I mean... lies. We have a lot of political parties, but two are yes... mainstream. This comes from the fact that nobody wants to support a loser, and nobody wants a President that does not receive at least close to 51% support from the voters. Ross Perot in '92 captured 20% of the vote as the Reform Party. He did not receive a single delegate from the Electoral College, causing George H.W. Bush to lose the election. Bill Clinton won with 43% of the vote, and I didn't like that at all. Just an example of what can happen.

Foxy is on fire up there... I so much agree with you. We have to defend Israel because we gave our word. It would be awesome if they started begging us to help them get out of there, after all, it's just sand. It would be great to just be able to sit back for a decade and be there to help clean up the mess when it's over, but we have to get the whole world on board with that idea. Shah has once again impressed me with his movie likes... Braveheart is my favorite of all time

On topic, I do question the wisdom of publishing things that make people want to kill you when defending yourself is prohibited by law.

If Shah and I were put in charge I'm absolutely sure we could work it all out. I would offer respect and support, and he could offer life without fear. Peace breaks out all over the world.

Attacks in Paris
Okay I have returned. I had to get away from this for a while and got some shut eye. Hi Foxy, I'll try to respond to that whole understanding Islam thing. I understand Islam more than most American middle-aged men that grew up in Christian schools and flipped Agnostic before I was in my twenties. My family was never big on church, weddings and funerals was about it. We did have a great time on Christmas and Easter, but we didn't lead our lives for Christ. I kind of take life as it comes and my priority is to do what I want with the time I've got. I see life like a TV series. Everyone gets to live out an episode, but no one gets to see the whole series. I hate when that happens, but it is what it is. When 9/11 happened I did not run to my computer and fill my brain full of understanding of Islam. I have no desire to understand islam, nor am I required to have an understanding of Islam to know enough about why it happened. I have no problem with religion. I have every problem with terrorism. It's awful that so many people have to die in order to stop it, but if they won't stop it on their own, we will have to stop them the other way. My opinion is, let's get it over with. They can do their worst, and we will do ours. People who kill people because they breathe air should die quick, and pity anyone that stands near them, because we will not. As far as Israel goes. I can't imagine why they want to stay there. I would offer them Vermont... they can have the whole useless state. But if they don't want to leave we have to protect them, because we told them we would. They have every right to protect themselves any way they see fit, and we need to give them everything they need to do it. Leave them alone, and just think of them as Americans over there. If not, well don't complain about the casualty imbalance. We tend to kick ass when we have to.

Yes it did... BOOM!... and I would have stood with my English ancestors as a Protestant against the Vatican. Just sayin...

But you fail to realize that their internal disagreements are not my problem. I'm sure those French families are fully understanding that the "Salafists" had nothing to do with it.

Attacks in Paris
Yea that statement is completely messed up. Islam is a religion not a terrorist organization. Please prove that to me. Every day I hear about terrorist attacks in the name of who? Oh yes... Islam. Why? Because the victims would not live the way their killers decided they should live. It's too much of a risk to not call it like it is, any longer.

Attacks in Paris
Okay I'm out of this one... I'm really cut and dry about my views, and debating religion is not my thing. I do agree with Shah on the "my evil > than your evil" thing, I understand where he's coming from. I'm very sad about what happened in France, and I hope us Americans support their resolution.

Assad recently used chemical weapons on his own people. Did anyone bother to check where those weapons came from? Of course not. Satellite photos confirmed a convoy of trucks into Syria before the invasion of Iraq, and it's believed those weapons were moved. Obama refused ground forces into Syria after his "red line" was crossed. He wouldn't want anyone to find out where those weapons came from, or what weapons are still there. Check out all the Senators, Congressmen, and other world leaders that all said the same thing about Iraq... yeah right... it was all George W. Bush. I personally don't care. Saddam Hussein was a bad dude, and his evil sons too, so mission accomplished. I have no sympathy for terrorists, and not doing something about it is condoning it.

Attacks in Paris
I think the difference is we control our religion... our religion does not control us. I'm Agnostic, so I don't even rate on the meter. After 9/11, George W. Bush had a mandate from the American people to go to war against Islamic threat. He had a 90% approval rating going into Afghanistan, and a 70% approval rating going into Iraq. When political winds started to wane, suddenly those that supported it all along started to change their position with talk of "exit strategy". If it were me... my answer would have been "we do have an exit strategy... east on both fronts". Pakistan was hiding Bin Laden. For that I would have crushed Pakistan... instead we still give them billions of dollars for "helping us against terrorism". Bush came closest to dealing with the problem, but fell victim to time, opposition, and lack of will to finish what we started. He was too nice and wanted to build a friendly nation instead of finishing the job. Every other President is content with biding their time and managing the problem. It will happen again, and it will start all over again, because Islam will not allow us to be us on this small planet. You are correct Blade, my apologies, I should not have said it that way. There are two kinds of Muslims, those that hate me, and those that want to kill me. I should not include everyone.
-
Attacks in Paris
I can't answer that question. Do you hate us? or do you want to kill us? Probably in the same category as the two muslims that live around me. Do they ever talk to me?... No Do they look at me like I'm a piece of shit in my own country?... Yes My wife got to know one of the girlfriends. He wanted this girlfriend to convert and she was just in it for the money. Having drinks was a crime and no way was it to be known that she was drinking with my wife. None the less, she is no longer the girlfriend and she moved on to a much happier relationship. But Mr. Muslim is still there, and we are infidels. End of story, but I do have a loaded Beretta should he ever want to visit us with a big knife.

Attacks in Paris
I'm afraid people are getting numb to this. This is an outrage, and it has to end. It's getting to where everyone just expects it to happen and shrugs it off as "well it was only 12"... "at least no one lost their head"... "it was them, and not us". Muslims are migrating. More into Europe than anywhere else, and they intend to take over. My position became clear on 9/11 when I saw my city of Las Vegas in a single day... vacated. Empty. As in ghost town. The largest tourist city in the world changed over night. There are two kinds of Muslims. The ones that hate you, and the ones that want to kill you. Declare worldwide, Islam is a form of government and treat it as such. Until we take this dead serious, we will have more deaths.

US Elections 2014
Hey Shah, Thanks for reminding me to go nominate you for Brain Boffin. Lobbyists are probably the most misunderstood and maligned characters in Washingtion. Lobbyists are the product of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution that prevents Congress from creating any law that restricts "the right of the people...to petition the Government for a redress of grievances". Anytime I call my Congressman and yell at him/her about their upcoming vote on any piece of legislation... I'm acting as a lobbyist. If you really want to make things happen on an issue that changes something big, that really affects a lot of lives, a group can hire professional lobbyists to represent your cause in Washington DC. This is where things can get out of hand. Perfect example is my Senator, Harry Reid. Harry is more wealthy than you can imagine. Strange how rich you can get when you receive a paycheck of a public servants salary all your life. It's like being a cop all your life, but you retire to Beverly Hills. It doesn't make any sense, and if you can follow the money you would find all the "gifts" from... you guessed it... lobbyists. It's not possible to stop the lobbyists because it's in the Constitution. So you have to try to stop the money, bribes, and gifts. This gets hard when you're investigating powerful people that control the investigating people, and they don't want to be investigated. Here's another thing that really pisses me off... Do you know insider trading is legal for Congress? Yeah, try to wrap your head around this one... A Senator knows what legislation is gonna pass that has crazy effects on the stockmarket. They can use that information to buy or sell stocks that they know are rising or falling... for their own personal gain. Anyone else would go to jail for this. Priceless. Simple answer to your question up there? is YES!

US Elections 2014
Oh god. Campaign finance... what a mess. Really when you strip away all the bullshit spin, and get down to the source, campaign finance is all about Democrats wanting to use every dollar they can grab and restrict every dollar Republicans can grab. I get the problem that money can create in elections, but I have no problem with good people building enough support to make a difference. I believe it would be a positive to criminalize misleading the public, and flat out lies, in campaign advertising. Maybe even prohibit negative advertising... you run an ad, it's about yourself and your accomplishments... not about the annonymous source that claims your opponent called a maid the "N" word 10 years ago. It's all garbage and there is no clean way to fix it.

US Elections 2014
Yes, I understand completely. We like having the ability to correct mistakes. Okay we just elected a Progressive President... and super majorities in both houses of Congress... oh shit! Two years of government expansion, incumbering regulations, global warming hysteria, socialist healthcare reform, tax increases, and liberal power grab... big mistake, so we flip the House of Reps and stop it cold. Our constant election cycles attempt to keep things under control, and power in check. The problem this creates is that it slows everything down, and quite often... nothing gets done.
