Texas Justice II - GAME OVER!

Endgame - CLICK ME

TEXAS JUSTICE II

During the night, you hear a shot echoing from the town hall. Each townsperson alerts the other, and slowly a small crowd of people, each carrying a rifle, run to the hall. Slowly, carefully, you search the hall. Entering the Mayor's office, you see Mole Stargazer shot dead, his blood leaking all over his desk. Clutched in his hand is a note, written in a hurried scrawl.

"People!

The town is not safe! The mafia are about to kill me, I've not given them money.

Find them! Shoot them! Hur

The note trails off into a scribble, adorned with blood. Looking around with a shudder, you realise there are Mafia amongst you. The doors are slammed shut, and the rifles are readied - but you're willing to try discussion first.

Uhhhh ...... what? Where did that come from, why did you post that? Seriously, how can you trust Kevin? Why do you particularly care about him staying alive?

This post seems to stand out like block letters in the Constitution, it just seems illogical to post unless you have a vested interest in Kevin staying alive (as in, you're both scum).

Also EM, you assume that anyone that does not support a specified plan is anti-town. I find this ridiculous since these suggested plans have awful fallacies that could, as vgm put it, allow scum to shepherd us toward our death.

I definitely appreciate the putting forth of a target/discussion-piece (vgm) as it allows for conversation, but I do feel like you may have pressed hard for her death. Once you realized nobody was going to blast her, you post about how she is almost certainly pro-town.

Something just seems fishy, EM...

I actually thought the same thing. He backpedaled and didn't push it.

But I find Curufinwe not helpful at all lol. Just parroting things and playing it safe. I mean how can "me - just awesome" convince me you're a townie lol. It's funny, but it's not convincing.

I actually thought the same thing. He backpedaled and didn't push it.

After re-reading everything...that was one of the things that stood out. I've seen EM persistently defend someone who he thinks is innocent. Maybe that is the case here. Vgm persuaded him to change his mind about her and thus earned EM's trust. If it was someone other than EM, I would definitely find it suspicious.

The only good "feels" I have so far are Narsis and EM.

Everyone else is undecided.

also, you can look at the setup. with 3 mafia, the mafia could win right now as we are. kinda unbalanced imo. with only 2 mafia, it would take three townies to die by the hands of other townies for the mafia to win. much better odds. with only 1 mafia...there's very little chance for them to win.

so two would be the logical choice. unless mole didn't realize that the mafia could win without any miskills by a townie meaning that there are three mafia which means they've more or less won now that i've said all this...

???

Isn't there 9 players?

How can 3 mafia win right now?

If 3 townies die by other townies...it would still be 6 players left...I dont see how 2 mafia could win.

Did you perhaps think it was 7 players instead of 9?

CD.

Unless the mafia don't know each other, I believe it has to be less than 3.

Otherwise the first 2 townies that shoot other townies would lose the game.

There is 9 players...so how exactly can 2 townie deaths lose us the game?

Uhhhh ...... what? Where did that come from, why did you post that? Seriously, how can you trust Kevin? Why do you particularly care about him staying alive?

You really come out firing don't you? I don't remember you being so quasi aggressive before. I don't know if I'm viewing it as more aggressive than what it really is because I'm the one being questioned or is it that you are trying to set me up to be killed because of your questionable alignment. In either case I will answer all question.

Here's why I trust KevinH almost completely. He was one of the first to suggest a winning strategy for the town, much like Narsis's but it was squashed by THE LORD ALMIGHTY MOD MOLE who said it was too powerful of a move. I also found it interesting that when Narsis suggests earlier the near similar plan but with voting that you were the first to find so called flaws. Flaws which you hinted at but never found. I further trust KevinH because he volunteered his life to prove he was a townie. Scream WIFOM all you want but I would take Kevin and Narsis to the final three. The fact that these are two huge and obvious reasons to believe Kevin is on the towns (my) side and for you to make it seem like I just came out of the blue with it is suspicious.

This post seems to stand out like block letters in the Constitution, it just seems illogical to post unless you have a vested interest in Kevin staying alive (as in, you're both scum).

I have an interest in KevinH being alive because we are both on the same team (town). The fact that you are going after me hard and at the same time trying to cast doubt on Kevin makes you look very suspicious. With only 2 scum facing 7 townies it must make the scum feel quite uncomfortable knowing that 3 of them (Me, Kevin, Narsis) all have great odds of being protown. That gives the town really good odds on winning and it's no surprise that scum would want to cast doubts on me and Kevin.

Also EM, you assume that anyone that does not support a specified plan is anti-town. I find this ridiculous since these suggested plans have awful fallacies that could, as vgm put it, allow scum to shepherd us toward our death.

Well I would love to hear them. Let's hear it Sir Jesus. What are these awful fallacies? Keep in mind that Narsis's plan and Kevin's plan are almost identical in that the town must kill the last person who fired their weapon. As I described earlier, this will in theory get the town down to one sole survivor, which is our best chance at winning. Kevin's strategy was so good that Mole banned it as a game breaker. Narsis' plan is identical except we vote on the order people are shot as the game progresses vs making a list and doing it all planned at once.

I definitely appreciate the putting forth of a target/discussion-piece (vgm) as it allows for conversation, but I do feel like you may have pressed hard for her death. Once you realized nobody was going to blast her, you post about how she is almost certainly pro-town.

I play to get results. I play to help the town win. That's just the way I play. There are others who would agree that it is a good style, a needed style. Kinda like good cop/bad cop. My suspicions on vgm were solid and I thought I did a good job explaining clearly my reasons for it. Once I had the opportunity to hear what she had to say I was glad that she changed my mind. I am glad that I allow my mind to remain open and flexible and receptive to new ideas. I don't make my mind up on day one and follow my same ideas through the last game. That would be ridiculous. She gave good reasons and I believed her so I changed my mind. Also keep in mind that only 5 hrs had passed since my original post and my last post regarding that topic. You argued that after I realized that no one was going to blast her I changed my mind. I find it hard to believe that I would panic just merely 5 hours into it.

Something just seems fishy, EM...

I agree Sir Jesus, and I'm beginning to think it's you. I would hope that most of the townies see Narsis, KevinH, and me as most likely townies and that the Narsis' plan is the way we should go. You seem to be against KevinH, the plan, and me. You are highly suspicious in my eyes and if I had to make a decision this instant you would be the first to go.

Slightly Biased?

Yes.

Mainly cuz I'm using my past knowledge of how the guy plays the game.

His style tendencies and recent posts seem to indicate that he is pro-town (at least it does to me).

Ahhhhhhhh, that actually makes a ton of sense about KevinH. It just seemed like you were defending him out of the blue. Now I see the reason for the post. Thank you.

However, this does not get rid of the WIFOM. KevinH could have suggested a game-breaking strategy as scum just as easily as if he were townie.

The fact that you are going after me hard and at the same time trying to cast doubt on Kevin makes you look very suspicious.

Um, this does not make me suspicious. It means I was accusing you and KevinH of being in this together as scum.

Kevin's strategy was so good that Mole banned it as a game breaker. Narsis' plan is identical except we vote on the order people are shot as the game progresses vs making a list and doing it all planned at once.

Kevin's strategy obviously was perfect and I would not have opposed it. Narsis' plan is flawed because the moment someone realizes they are about to be shot, they will fire whether they are guilty or not.

My suspicions on vgm were solid and I thought I did a good job explaining clearly my reasons for it. Once I had the opportunity to hear what she had to say I was glad that she changed my mind.

I have done the same thing myself, as you can see by reading through my posts. However, I think she put herself back to "neutral" level and cannot be considered pro-town at this point. To do so would be to ignore a potential threat.

Also, only 5 hours may have passed between posts but several people posited their opinions in the matter during that time.

I agree Sir Jesus, and I'm beginning to think it's you.

Oh boy, already with the return-defense. Excellent. What are the accusations levied against me?

-Pointing out obvious flaws in a plan that anyone (especially scum) can manipulate.

-Considering WIFOM on the part of all participants

Hmm... I don't think I'm worthy of Texan justice. I've been racking my brain for a good plan for this game that has not been suggested, but I cannot think of anything that would be enforceable + fair. I think gut reactions will carry the day, one way or the other. My intuition tells me that you are not scum, but out of self-defense I could shoot you for your last sentence (I know I'm townie)...

This is a very interesting setup, I'm interested to see what happens.

Yes.

Mainly cuz I'm using my past knowledge of how the guy plays the game.

His style tendencies and recent posts seem to indicate that he is pro-town (at least it does to me).

Poo, comes down to experience, which I don't have. Could be quite a problem.

Expand on your indications of pro-towniness? Please?

No one knows anything for sure. That's all I can say. It's hard to assume. Like I did lol! I know I'm townie as well. And I'm willing to die first (so that Narsis won't get to blame me again haha )
Poo, comes down to experience, which I don't have. Could be quite a problem.

You will get experience the more games you play.

This is just based on my observations of EM and his past game plays.

Indications of pro-towniness are not a hard set of rules.

(ie. EM holds stead-fastedly to the belief that Narsis and KevinH are pro-towns).

Even though this game is played a bit different from other mafia games...behaviours rarely change.

And if it does...there has to be a reason for it.

Kevin's strategy obviously was perfect and I would not have opposed it. Narsis' plan is flawed because the moment someone realizes they are about to be shot, they will fire whether they are guilty or not.

actually...it's not as flawed as you might think. first, if scum is the first person chosen to die they can fire off their shot all they want. all it does is change the order from scum-->rest of the order to townie-->scum-->rest of order. not a big difference.

now if scum were chosen to fire on someone, they could choose to shot someone else. this would hurt a bit more, but would give us a guaranteed scum anyway...

secondly, you are underestimating the town. i personally believe that a truly innocent townie would not shoot out of turn for fear that they would mess up the plan and cause a scum win.

essentially...until the same number of scum and townies have bullets left, the town is on top and the scum won't be able to mess with the plan too much.

now i believe CD was also pondering how two townie deaths could result in a loss with 3 scum...well actually it wouldn't. i forgot that the remaining townies would still have bullets to shoot the scum with. :P it could take 2 townies to die by the towns own hand for the scum to guarantee a win if there were 3 scum. on the other hand with 2 scum...

wait a minute...i just realized something: with 3 scum...it would take only one townie to die by the hands of another townie for the scum to win...if they knew what they were doing that is. with 2 scum...it would take 2-4 townies to die by the hands of another townie for the scum to win if they knew what they were doing. exactly how many is determined by whether a townie with a bullet or not is shot. now i'm not going to elaborate on why just yet. don't want to give the scum any ideas. :P

Kind of a random thought here, but we've been focusing on who should die first and be the first shooter and all that. But what about the last shooter? Any plans for that? I'm also wondering if we might have people willing to be the last shooter. Or among the last at least.

I'm sure Mole will comment if necessary, but I believe having a predetermined last man may break the spirit of the rules based off of Moles veto on KevinH's plan. vgm's idea is the hybrid of Narsis's and KevinH's plan. I am hesitant to pick the very last man since if we pick wrong today that decision will lead to the towns certain doom. I also do not think we should have a predetermined last group. At first I thought about that myself as well but after thinking more about it I think it has a flaw. If we pick persons A, B, and C to be our trusted core group then it will only serve to give the scum better targets at which to shoot at. I think the best way for the town to progress is to only choose who should be the shooter based off of that person's guilt or innocence. I think it would be best if the town didn't show all of it's cards up front so to speak.

Correct.

Well folks sorry for the inactivity.

I live in Fargo North Dakota so its been really crazy trying to get back on track in college. We lost three weeks of school so I've been cramming all the work in. Sorry for the inconvenience about the game. However, I assure you that although I have not had much time to sit down and stratagize I have been reading very attentively.

Now, on to it. At the risk of sounding scummy, I'll voice this thought. Lets get to blastin'. The loss of the mayor has struck all of us and it is my feeling that the time for revenge is now. We must waste no time apprehending the people who transgressed our legal system. So, who shall it be? I must admit as a first timer I am far from clear minded. Especially as one who losses track of names really easy. However, in light of resent events I throw my support behind both VGM and ElectricMango. There experience and clearly communicated strategies have helped me find that even if I am wrong in my assumption about trusting them, they are the most logical choice to trust. In regards to the KevinH dispute, I find on the side of KevinH. It is in ElectricMango that I place my trust and thus in KevinH as well.

Now, I am a loyal townie but, one that must leave town this weekend and my ability for activity is questionable. Therefore, I volunteer my bullet. I suppose at this time, my target seems to be SirJesus. Although, he may be a towine (in fact I am completely unsure) I will follow the strongest voices in this game. If it is true that VGM and ElectricMango have both deceived me in their intentions I shall learn from it and gauge their intentions better in the next game.

However, here and now I'm ready to do some shooting.

Sir Jesus, I have a pistol loaded and cocked directed at you.

On three confirmations, I shall fire.

Forgive me, Sir Jesus.

Well I say we shoot you, Aquinas, instead. If your level of activity is questionable, you are little help if you can't post much and give us insights. If you are truly townie, you'd be willing to die.

I'm loving the activity levels from everyone, I've not had to send out prods.

Obviously I can't do vote counts, but I'm still here.

He is in fact offering to let himself die. He just wants to take out Sir Jesus first and in doing so placing his neck on the chopping block next. Not a very scummy thing to do IMO.

c

So far we have 3 people offer to be one of the first to die, KevinH, Falzis, and now Aquinas. If these are not clever ploys to throw us off of their tracks then they most certainly be townies. If that is the case then I would put 5 people as most likely townie, these three plus Narsis and myself. That leaves only Sir Jesus, vgmmaster, CD, and Curufinwe.

@EM - That's a pretty big IF...IF you are wrong...then the town chances of winning drops.

In any case, I can be the first shooter (not the victim). Just seems wrong to have a gun and not shoot it. I mean how often do you get that chance in a regular mafia game (unless you get the vigilante role)?

I'd be a bit weary myself. If I was going to consider that as an option of who might be scum, who might not, the earlier they offered the better. Now if people do it, it might just be to look good, but I'd be very skeptical of the later ones that do it. Like Mango said, somebody might be trying to throw us off their trail. Although I wonder how likely that possibility is, as you would think that the mafia would try and stay alive as long as possible so they can do a quick double shot (if possible) and gain the win that way later on.

Wrong choice Aquinas. I'm a man with nothing to lose but a lot to gain (my first mafia kill!). You have targeted me for your aggression without any logical reasons or accusations. While I am not 100% sure you are scum, I am 100% sure that I am not. You wish to speed up the killings, I will grant your wish. It is unfortunate that I must fire so early into the game, I really wanted to analyze this game. Oh well, Aquinas, you forced me to play my hand and openly admitted possible inactivity. I have no other choice but to prove to the town the fallacy of mixing democracy with Texan justice.

*Sir Jesus walks up to Aquinas and shoots him in the chest

I can only hope he was not one of us.

Psst.

6. To shoot someone, simply use Shoot: molestargazer. Once you have shot someone, you can't undo it or reclaim your bullet, so use it wisely!
