TEXAS JUSTICE II

During the night, you hear a shot echoing from the town hall. Each townsperson alerts the other, and slowly a small crowd of people, each carrying a rifle, run to the hall. Slowly, carefully, you search the hall. Entering the Mayor's office, you see Mole Stargazer shot dead, his blood leaking all over his desk. Clutched in his hand is a note, written in a hurried scrawl.

 

"People!

The town is not safe! The mafia are about to kill me, I've not given them money.

Find them! Shoot them! Hur

 

The note trails off into a scribble, adorned with blood. Looking around with a shudder, you realise there are Mafia amongst you. The doors are slammed shut, and the rifles are readied - but you're willing to try discussion first.

Maybe...maybe not. You could have chosen to present your intuitons and killed EM but you still chose Aquinas. You should have known that you would have faced some scrutiny when you fired the first shot.

Let me put you in my shoes for a moment.

You have faced several pages of scrutiny and feel that the town is following a plan that gives the scum some control over the game. At this moment you are easily considered the most scummy person in the town. As you defend youself, the pressure remains and now someone presents a bold plan: to kill you with only 3 affirmative responses. There is a huge chance you will not survive this situation, especially if Aquinas is not scum (2 scum votes + EM would do it). At this point here are the only three options you have:

1)Wait until someone pulls the trigger

2)Kill the person that has the gun pointed at your chest, waiting for the town's approval to kill you

3)Kill the person you think is most likely to be scum (I would've given EM ~25% likely)

Results

1) One townie dead + one townie(?) with no bullet

2) One townie(?) dead + one townie with no bullet

3) Most likely (75%): 2 townies dead (me & EM) + one townie(?) with no bullet

 

Seriously guys, what option did you expect me to take?

also, i find it slightly unnerving and a bit suspicious that you are attempting to coax EM into shooting you.

 

I don't understand why. I truly believe he is most likely to be scum. Something about the way he is acting ... I don't know it's hard to explain I guess.

 

I want his weapon to be removed from the game as soon as possible, I don't care if he wipes me out in the end it will help the town a lot more then if a townie shoots me and I am silenced.

Wow. I get distracted for a day and I come back to 5 additional pages of posts and a dead townie already.

 

News flash: My taxes are complete and in the mail.

 

Anyway, I still like the idea of shooting people without bullets so we don't lose two townie bullets with one shot.

 

Sir Jesus, whether townie or not, is the one player without a bullet and thus is my nominee to be the next "shootee".

 

Let's decide who seems to be the scumiest and coerce them into shooting Sir Jesus so we can shoot them next.

 

I still volunteer to do the deed myself is the group desires it.

@Narsis - who do you think should take the shot to kill off SJ?

True. If it was happening to me...I can't say for certain that I wouldn't have done the same thing. But alas...I'm fairly confident that you will be the next one to be shot. The only thing is to find the shooter that will pull the trigger.

I just wanted your opinion not for you to drop the hammer vote.

I think it's safe to say Kevin and I are willing to use our shot to off SJ...so we could let the town decide between the 2 of us.

Unless someone else appears scummy.

I personally would like EM to shoot me.

@Jesus - Why do you think necessarily that EM is scum and that we should go for him over either you or anybody else?

 

I feel like he is trying to take underlying control of the game, and I feel like scum would be the only group to benefit from it. They know who their friend is, they can manipulate the killings away from them while removing townies' bullets. A townie "taking control" would not benefit since they are just as clueless as everyone else.

But why do you say he's taking control? If it's because of his plan, Kevin / Narsis had similar plans as well.

Maybe because EM has been the vocal pusher. Makes sense. But not too convincing.

We lost a good man damnit. I understand fearing that rash decisions may lead you astray but can you think of anybody else doing anything more scummy than what Sir Jesus just did? Who else could we possible target that would do something more scummy than this? Others and I have already predicted that a cornered scum would quickly fire their bullet as to take at least one townie down with them. That is exactly what Sir Jesus did. Actions speak louder than words and we already heard what Sir Jesus had to say when he killed Aquinas. I say we just kill 'em now.

 

This post just seems that he wanted a quick kill before more discussions took place. But EM is usually vocal when he believes he's found scum. So I don't see any different gameplay than from other games he's played.

I really think KevinH and Narsis should be some of the last left alive. I have the strongest pro-town feelings about them. I wouldn't mind seeing Curufinwe fire the next shot. He hasn't necessarily done anything scum like but I just have stronger townie feelings about everyone else. I believe vgm recommended him as well.

That is important, we need to look at shootee, and shooter very carefully, and decide who is scum, and through looking at this people like SJ are perking up on my scum radar, i dunno, there is just something about them......

Whoever shoots Jesus, if he's scum, we're looking good. If not, we should probably deviate from the plan and discuss who we think are scum from there. Going in order is obviously favorable, but depending on the situation, it may not be feasible. We should probably start discussing what happens in that scenario.

This is 100% correct and 100% the reason why we should not have KevinH be the shooter. He's scoring very high on my townie meter and it will always be best if we pick the non towniest out of all us to kill Sir Jesus. I posted an example why earlier that I'll post again that may help explain why. It's exactly what Kevin said but formatted differently.

This below scenario is worst case scenario. It leaves 4 people left alive at end game because people only people with bullets were targeted. However, if we shoot only those without bullets we would end up with 1 person left alive. Since all scum must be killed we absolutely and obviously will have a better chance with only 1 left.

This is where I talk about this early on in the game. Notice how Sir Jesus falls right into the early predictions of scum behavior. I've italicized all relevant points I'm referring too.

 

 

We have to agree that we can only kill a member who has already fired their weapon with the only exception being the first kill. This is the towns best win scenario. As Narsis stated we must vote who will be the next to fire their bullet and by doing so, be the next one on the chopping block. As Kevin said, those who do not follow this process must automatically be assumed as scum and be executed.

 

Just to clarify why it is in our best interest to kill only those who have fired their weapon:

 

The Town Must Kill All Mafia ~ The more people killed the better our chances.

 

As I stated before, if we shot only people with bullets then we would have 4 people left alive at the end of the game. Not very good odds for us.

 

If we only kill those who have fired, then we will only have 1 left at the end. Very good odds.

Scum will try to deviate from this strategy when it becomes do or die.

 

The first day we must vote for two people. The first will be who is executed and the second will be for the executioner.

 

 

Thoughts?

 

 

While there is always a chance that Sir Jesus may be a townie there is no arguing that it is still in the towns best interest to have him killed by the scummiest/non towniest of us all. This is not Mango trying to control the game to lead the town down the dark path, this is Mango laying out the facts of the case. Math is the universal language, math holds the keys to the secrets to the universe, there is no arguing with math. Math is either right or wrong. Do we want 4 people left alive at the end of the game or would we like to have that number lower? I only have the towns best interest at heart and if sometimes I come across too strong or too aggressive it is only because I really love playing this game and I have a lot of passion in winning.

 

If there are no objections I feel we should all vote for who we think the shooter should be, just like a regular mafia game. Once we get to 4 votes that person kills Sir Jesus and we continue this same format. I don't think people should volunteer to do the shooting either. I want to rat out the scum and not let our own townies sacrifice themselves to prove their innocence. Let's start focusing on finding out next shooter.

Perhaps this is an attempt by scum to influence the flow of the game away from a pro-town strategy.
