[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Long day today, and a fair bit to respond to! Let's see... Your OMGUS vote is understandable. I can't really factor in your stance from prior games on this matter - all I saw is you were the 6th and nearly final vote. This may just come down to a question of whether we can believe you really weren't looking when you placed your vote. Maybe I'm OCD, but I like to see where vote counts stand whenever I'm about to place one... I just find it hard to believe you'd vote without looking to see how far along it was already. With that said - your "let's not be hasty" phrase when you placed your no-lynch vote was at odds with you nearly ending the day. I dont know what the hasty was referring to in that post, perhaps you can elaborate. If you're referring to something someone else said, that means you did something more than 'glance' at the page and should have known yours was going to be the 6th vote. What did you mean by "let's not be hasty" in your post? I'm going to keep my vote on you for now, but since you are at least back and talking that's a step in the right direction. Since the day is no longer in danger of ending a lot of the initial fervor people had for pursuing the near-final voters seems to have faded. I've kept focusing on Lyner because the logic still seems to make sense to me - the danger of losing day 1 conversation was very nearly avoided, and lynch or not I still think the scum would have called that a win. However a lot of the analysis hinges on the idea that Lyner can't have ignored he was bringing us to L-1, and now he's flat-out claiming he wasn't paying attention at all. So either he's just saying that now to pretend his vote meant nothing, or he genuinely voted blindly. I just don't see an experienced townie voting blindly, without checking the count. However Robert is right - right now it DOES look a lot like me versus Lyner because Kaz has gone silent, and d3mon was largely silent until he posted just now. TBRaiders also commented that we seem to be parroting the same stuff that's been said - that's true too. I know I've had to restate the same explanation/analysis several times because people keep asking about it, but it is getting repetitive even to me. So either people just don't understand what I'm trying to say, or they just don't agree with it but keep asking as though my reasons are going to change. I try to at least be consistent in my analysis and reasoning. Except I do not agree at all that the scum will be in a rush to end the day on a No Lynch so early when they have plenty of time to pick on the inactive townies and get a lynch there. It makes no sense why they would jump at a chance to end the day with no lynch when they have days ahead of them to get a lynch on a townie. Lynching townies > > ending day early with No Lynch. I would say the scum were not in the No Lynch wagon and even if they were they voted No Lynch early in the RVS. I am more suspicious of those who were not on the wagon and you specifically in trying to use that as an excuse to get a lynch wagon. Your statement here seems to take as a given that if the scum are patient, they will get some townie lynched - therefore there is no reason for the scum to vote no-lynch like that. Assume for the moment that Lyner is scum and saw the no-lynch wagon sitting at 5 votes; L-2 and over half-majority with the day barely started. With that much no-lynch support already demonstrated, there is a real chance that the day could end in no-lynch - meaning the townie lynch you say the scum should wait for is not as guaranteed as you suggest. So in that scenario, why would he NOT jump on the wagon himself and bring it to L-1? Given the number of townies on it, it's great cover - isn't it classic scum behavior to jump onto a wagon that other townies have started? And if the day ended rapidly, that's still a win for scum for the reasons I stated - no discussion happens, which would REALLY have hurt us going into Day 2. Lyner was active enough to place his vote very soon after the game started and then went silent - it looked suspicious to me. Again, I agree with you that the scum's ideal would be a dead townie - however when Lyner voted we were at L-2 and it looked like the town was well on its way to ending Day 1 with no lynch, so it makes sense to me that the scum would take the next best option of a quick end to the day. Votes moving that fast struck me as highly unusual; doubly so because we had two experienced players, EM and Lyner, seemingly voting blindly without counting votes first. It just doesn't add up to me. You state that either scum were not in the no-lynch wagon, and if they were they voted early in the Random Voting Stage (RVS); where do you get that from? The day was barely 12 hours old at that point and seemingly everyone was voting as they first checked in. It makes more sense to me to attribute more meaning to the final votes than the earlier ones. Per above, Lyner has finally started talking again and he has said his vote was placed randomly - which I take to mean without him realizing it was the L-1 vote. I don't fully believe this since I have trouble believing any townie would just vote blindly, RVS or not. But that may be the question on which all this hinges; are we more inclined to believe EM and Lyner voted blindly, or not? Both are experienced players who I'd think should have been aware of the vote count when they voted, and per Kaz's note both of them historically support a day 1 lynch. I would be interested in hearing peoples' thoughts on this specific question - whether people who have played with these two more recently than I think they could make this kind of mistake. Also @Kevin: Please prod Kaziocore if you haven't already. -Preston

Addendum - @Robert, where do you see Montosh posting? I just searched for his content on IRON's forums and his post in this thread was his last. If he's got access to a computer to be posting elsewhere, that means he cant claim to have been out of town like Lyner did. Worth watching if true.

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
It's easy for both of you to call it a random/tongue-in-cheek vote now that the day didn't end. Your excuses may be real - how can one refute "I just didn't count?" - but immediately prior to your votes I had called attention to how there were four quick votes for no-lynch, and then the pair of you placed two more. KevinH modded game or not, I have difficulty believing neither of you looked at how close you brought us to ending the day. I have no doubt that any of the townies who voted for No-Lynch during that initial rush, did so for exactly the reason you mention. Nothing would have stopped either of you from posting "In honor of KevinH, I support No-Lynch! But I won't vote for it just now since there are already 4/5 votes placed." Robert pretty much did that just now, if I read his post correctly - saying he'd likely go for No-Lynch at the end of the day, but he likes to squeeze Day 1 for all it's worth - and that's perfectly fine. My suspicion of you is not about your supporting no-lynch, it's that your vote was the 6th on a wagon that brought us to L-1 almost immediately after the day started. That's highly unusual to me, since I cannot see a townie wanting the day to end that fast; such an action in my view would only serve the scum. So I don't see it as "trying so hard to suspect" you, so much as "you did something unusual that drew peoples' attention." Even if you maintain that your vote was a joke, you can't ignore that you were the 6th vote when 7 would have been a majority. As for what you just said though: "even if the day ends in no-lynch quickly then the top voters will be the number one suspects." - isn't that exactly what I'm looking at now, minus the day having already ended? I'm looking at the top voters - as in the ones who added their votes last - for what nearly happened. If you acknowledge this much as being reasonable/expected, I don't understand how you then turn around and say it's silly to suspect you for matching what you just said. Imran made a similar point about no-lynch being 'definitely not' in scum's favor; I agree they'd rather get a day 1 townie lynch, but I think they would also have taken the day ending that fast as a win - their votes hidden among everyone else who voted because of Kevin, and able to deny that they meant to end Day 1 early when Day 2 started. At this point the day has NOT ended early, we've got five pages of discussion to look over for Day 1 and another week left to decide what we'll actually do. As Robert noted, Day 1 nobody has anything to go off of - everyone finds what they consider suspicious and works with it, or votes no-lynch. I've stated a few times now why I found the strange way the day started suspicious, so that's what I'm sticking with - it's better than random joke votes that people later deny meant anything. -Preston

I'm not sure where you get jumpy or snappy from, unless you just mean my activity level - I figure there's no reason for me not to respond when there's something worth responding to, especially if it's directed at me. Once the work week starts again on Monday my time will go down and you'll hear a bit less from me . Pushy, however, I completely understand - ever since I started playing again, my play style has ended up somewhat aggressive. But it DOES get people talking, which is really the point. I hate when games go silent for days on end. Since you quoted Imran's response, I'll be clearer there - I don't suspect him just yet, despite his vote against me saying he doesn't understand what I'm doing. I'm a little surprised at his position - the importance of how oddly the day started seems self-evident to me - but I explained it again for his benefit to help him catch up on my prior posts. -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
As I said to EM just a few posts back, I agree it's strangely backwards that a no-lynch wagon has become a source of suspicion. Had those same votes built over a longer span of time, with people agreeing to it and discussion happening, it would not have drawn half as much attention. As it stands, it's the sheer speed with which the wagon built and the fact that it nearly ended the day that's drawn attention - highly unusual, so I don't think this is a tangent at all - especially since I'm not alone in looking at this. I'd be more surprised if you think the no-lynch wagon reaching 6 votes within the first ~12 hours is NOT significant. I am not basing my suspicion on EVERYONE who jumped on the no-lynch wagon; rather I am focusing on those who nearly took the wagon to its completion after the day had barely started. Normally day 1 starts with a few random votes on people that don't go anywhere, before settling on either a lynch target that's inactive or has acted scummy, or perhaps on no-lynch. Before the day ends in whatever way, there is discussion that may help future analysis - and more importantly helps town power roles decide who to investigate/defend/block/etc. Normally SOME discussion is a given before any vote even reaches the half-majority mark, let alone L-1. This has not been a normal day - and it very nearly did not last an entire day, either. Any town role usage would have been completely random, unable to tell not just who voted for whom, but who lurked/was inactive/was present at all. Maybe I'm not thinking like scum, but I'd think they would see that as a victory even without a townie lynch - they'd get their pick of who to kill at night, and we'd start Day 2 with one less townie. At least with a lynch vote you get to look at the people who were on the wagon as a list of suspects for Day 2; with a night kill you have nothing. You seem to support some of this idea in your own response (emphasis added): I'm largely of the same mind as you with regards to not liking a Day 1 no-lynch, for all the reasons you list. I bolded your last line because I think it's the key here: the last votes on the wagon could well be scum playing it safe by doing what other townies wanted, and trying to get to their night kill faster. No day 1 wagon or discussion equals no reason for any scum to stick out; the perfect cover, especially with everyone saying it would have been done as a tribute to KevinH. I also paid attention to who those last votes were from: EM and Lyner. Both have played enough that neither could miss their votes were the 5th and 6th on the wagon, and as Kaz later reinforced both of them are historically in favor of a day 1 lynch too. So what's going on there? Lyner in particular hasn't said a word since his vote, while EM has moved on to vote for ABigDeer - initially for his saying "the goblins" repeatedly. Obviously this is Day 1 and suspicions people find tend to be thin - however I'm fairly comfortable with my vote where it is for now, because it's based on those who were rushing the day to an early end. It may just come down to a value judgement where you think that no matter what the scum would prefer a day 1 lynch over an early end, and I think the scum would have preferred what they nearly got - and now they're having to deal with resuming a more normal day 1. So do you think that the 6-vote wagon isn't something to pay attention to? Do you think there aren't any scum on that list, or that they wouldn't try to blend in there? Who are the most likely players to jump onto a no-lynch wagon once it starts to build - scum trying to avoid standing out, or townies who normally don't go for no-lynch themselves? These kinds of questions are what have me so focused on this line of reasoning. As with the last game, this could be overanalysis - as could just about anything in Mafia, since figuring it out is the name of the game - but watching peoples' votes is one of the few REAL pieces of information available on day 1, and this has been a highly unusual day so far in terms of voting patterns. I'm going to stick with my suspicions for now. -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Heh, you're quite right; it really is ironic that those who voted no-lynch - typically the safest route - are now the most under scrutiny. It's really the sheer speed with which the wagon built and how close the six votes came to ending the day that's being examined... but that doesn't stop it from being a little funny that no-lynch is what got us talking, even without Kevin in the game. -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Lyner has posted once - to place the 6th vote on the no-lynch wagon that brought it to L-1. But you are correct that he has not posted since then. As for when it's a 'bandwagon'; we run the risk of going down a language rabbit hole here, but why not; it may benefit the newer players as well. I called the no-lynch push a wagon at 4 votes (which was also the first time I saw it), and separately commented that Day 1 random/humor votes rarely go beyond the first one or two on a person - perhaps the latter is what you're referring to. There's not necessarily a clear line when a bunch of votes starts being a 'bandwagon', and the name isn't really used for anything more than to refer to "the bunch of people voting for the same thing". What I watch for (and when I tend to use the term) is when people join the later stages of a building vote, when they think it is 'safe' to do so without standing out. Sadly the most readable quote for this is wikipedia as opposed to mafiascum: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandwagon_effect vs http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Bandwagon Anyway, I digress. You are correct that we seem to have a second vote building, whether you call it a bandwagon or not. The no-lynch wagon built pretty fast and nearly finished the day; this one is a bit slower and based on the last vote(s) of that first wagon. I'm keeping my vote there to keep myself on record as suspecting Lyner for nearly ending the day before. However like the first wagon I do NOT want this to end the day any time soon - we need to keep talking, and Lyner really should say something. -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Good to hear from you Imran; I know it's after new years', but do try and jump in asap. Good; putting your vote where your words are at least gets you on record for it. Given that I already suspect Lyner I can't disagree with your choice - though I could still see this action as just following others' lead when pressed. You'll remain on my suspect list for now. -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Well since there's already a sizeable number of votes for no lynch, this is hard to believe. Maybe EM wouldn't even mention his vote was just for fun if no lynch was pushed through. This is essentially the reason I'm looking at both EM and Lyners' votes. Throwing a no-lynch vote in a KevinH modded game "just for fun" is one thing; throwing a no-lynch vote when it makes you 5 or 6 on the bandwagon is another matter entirely. Both EM and Lyner know enough to know what they were doing... doubly so because my post immediately before their votes discussed Rafay bringing the wagon to 4 votes. And if the day had ended early, you can bet everyone on the wagon would have stuck with the just for fun/for KevinH line to proclaim their innocence on Day 2 - which is why it would have been such a win for the scum if that had occurred. So the mod just clarified the rules for this game. THAT is interesting - and implies that we'll be getting some free info that a cop won't have to investigate or role claim for. We'll have to see what that looks like on Night 1 when it happens to really judge how useful it will be. It also implies that the mentioned roles (roleblocker/doctor) are probably in the game. What I worry about is that if THIS is the main source of information the mod intends us to have, we may not have a cop to work with. Maybe this was done because we cannot mass claim? I'm not sure if this is related to mass claiming... I dont remember it happening THAT often, but I have been away for a while. Not being able to say "Okay everyone, cards on the table" to push everyone to claim at once doesnt seem THAT big of a loss to be offset. Individual claims still seem to be allowed; at what point do a bunch of independent claims on the same day become a "mass claim" if it's not otherwise asked for? Custom games like this one just beg to be tweaked or clarified mid-game; when I modded/ran TBD mafia two games ago, mid-game I thought of a line I'd rather have added to the Witch Doctor role to allow for an edge case - but since the role was already public and a night had already passed, I didn't do so. Kevin getting in this change before Night 1 means he can be consistent on all nights going forward, so that makes sense to me. We've gotten some people talking - actually a surprising number given that the day has revolved around a new years' holiday. There are still some inactives (Imran, Montosh, Lyner) that need to show their faces; hopefully activity will pick up as people come back from their holiday plans. After the next day or two holiday craziness will stop being a valid excuse for inactives to claim. -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Imho, Town's most important weapon is this thread. The no lynch bandwagon was so close to getting the majority that it might've caused us to loose an entire day worth of discussion. I am usually not suspicious of early bandwagons but I have to say that your vote was either a newbie mistake (probable) or a clever attempt by scum to end the day quickly (a newbie scum mistake?). FoS: TBRaiders @TBRaiders (And @Nick since you've referred to this too) You don't have to worry about separating OOC comments in the thread; there's not exactly a ton of character immersion or anything at play here. Nothing stops you from playing more to the flavor character if you wish, but people won't be offended if you don't post like your middle-earth namesake. As for content; at least Kaz and myself gave d3mon some townie credit for withdrawing his vote when we were at L-1 (that means one vote away from ending the day) to keep the day from ending too fast. d3mon was the first vote, before it became a sizable bandwagon; he could probably have safely left his vote there and let the day end by someone else hammering it (finishing the vote). With that said - I'm leaning toward the newbie mistake option for TBRaiders. He was only the third vote, so he didn't even bring the wagon to the halfway mark. As for ABigDeer... I'm a little confused by what I'm seeing there - it seems like a lot of hedging. He starts by responding to EM and saying he doesnt believe EM's defense. Then he throws a defense of EM to Robert, saying EM could be trying to spark a reaction. Then he defends his word choices to EM, and he ends by saying he actually suspects Lyner over EM. On the one hand, EM's picking up on ABD just saying "the goblins" a lot really is thin. However ABD has thrown a bunch of names around without voting for any of them yet; not exactly lurking yet avoiding committing to it. For the moment I'll keep an eye on ABD as well. For those watching at home, my suspect list currently reads: 1. Lyner - 6th vote on the wagon, sparse posts thus far... I actually think his ONLY vote was his no-lynch vote? 2. EM - 5th vote on the wagon, in a departure from his usual pro-lynch stance as Kaz pointed out - and I don't believe he didn't know what he was doing with that 5th vote. Has since changed vote to ABigDeer, which initially looked shaky but may have some substance to it. 3. ABigDeer - singled out by EM after ABD posted suspecting him, but hasn't voted at all yet. Per my notes in this post, seems to be flipflopping as to suspecting EM, Lyner, and now Imran or Montosh. I also want to see more content from those who havent posted as much so far. I understand this is a crazy time right after new years', so we can give people SOME slack - but by Sunday at the latest I'll hope to have seen something from everyone. -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
You indeed referenced KevinH in your no-lynch post, and you're not alone in using him as no-lynch inspiration. Neither of these detract from the fact yours was the fifth vote on an existing wagon, so I've still got my eye on you. With that said, I have no doubt the mod will post haikus at various points for flavor - so I don't think you need to replace him in THAT aspect! 5-s alliteration aside, I'm curious what you're seeing. So let's take another look at ABigDeer based on your statement: 1. He had the first post after Kevin officially started the game; largely fluff with no vote. 2. His second post was essentially a +1 to my earlier post, without a vote. 3. His third post was a +1 to Kaz's suspicion about EM, though he hedges by saying he has not seen EM play as scum (??). Still no vote. At minimum ABD isn't staying silent - even if he has not placed a vote of his own yet. His concurrence with others' posts isn't entirely scummy, but I can see where EM could call it staying below the radar. So 'spidey sense' justification aside, I wouldn't entirely call this a OMGUS vote by EM - doubly so because ABD hasn't actually voted yet. -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Happy 2015 everyone! And it looks like a decent bit has been said since last I checked; hopefully you didn't skip out on some form of revelry Alright, down to business... I'll respond to these two together. At minimum you want people to talk on Day 1 - and not just talk, but cement their positions with votes. You learn a surprising amount in terms of who supports whom and who jumped on what wagon when by seeing what people do - and we will need that information to make sense of whatever happens during Night 1, to fuel our discussion on Day 2. The problem is that if you give people the out of a no-lynch vote, it's impossible to distinguish between lurking scum and timid town. The first few posts/pages of day 1 are almost always 'random' - in the sense that people are generally being silly and voting for obviously spurious reasons. This doesn't mean the votes truly ARE random, but people typically get a pass for the first part of the day until people start getting serious and deciding what to do. However random votes rarely go beyond the first 1 or 2 on a person; when a sizable bandwagon builds, that's a definite time to get serious and see who is trying to end the day. So let's look at this No-Lynch wagon that nearly ended the day barely 24 hours in: d3mon started the wagon as nearly the first post of the day. Voting for no-lynch in honor of KevinH, who cannot do so this game, is a common theme. Rafay putting the fourth vote on the wagon caught my attention, hence my vote there... but four votes is still L-3, so we had breathing room. Immediately afterward EM and Lyner jumped on the wagon and brought us to L-1. Lyner's vote was somewhat ironic in that he said "Now now, don't be hasty" as he placed the sixth vote. My focus is therefore now more on Lyner and EM - they've pushed the wagon further than Rafay did. So now we come to the no-lynch debate itself. Arguments for No-lynch are almost always from a sheer numbers perspective; that the town benefits by having more townies alive is unquestionably true. If you ignore all context to be gained by seeing who votes for whom and assume the day's lynch is chosen purely at random, you have a higher chance of losing a townie than getting lucky and finding scum. But in practice lynches are NOT chosen at random - you get scum piling onto wagons, or someone does something that draws attention. Seeing who joins what wagon when is revealing information. Now I'll respond to few posts from Rafay, Nick and Kaz on this subject: Trying new things is good, and I think a No-Lynch on day 1 seems new, as I dont think it is done often. Either way, I think it's better to hold votes on No-Lynch until someone does something scummy. It's always better to vote for the most suspicious player even if the suspicion is still not much because at least we know you're scum hunting and we know where you stand. Also it's interesting that Electric Mango joined the no lynch wagon when he's most of the time for a D1 lynch. |: http://ironcentral.org/community/topic/40375-kz-04-good-end-house-of-horrors/?p=622897 :| Unvote: Lyner Vote: Electric Mango Also slight scum read for Lyner for joining the no lynch wagon and for Rafay. His posts look like he will lurk and join the most popular wagon. Slight town for d3mon for unvoting no lynch. @Rafay and @Nick - I'm not sure what you mean by cynical, but you seem to use the word as meaning no reason not to do something different; i.e. no-lynch. Both of you agree that we should hold votes and not finish off the day with the no-lynch wagon, and I completely agree with that. In response to Nick, clear scum tells on Day 1 aren't exactly common so you cannot depend on them; instead you have to look for what people do that seems somewhat suspicious, and work with where people feel inconsistent. @Kaziocore - I largely agree with you that people should always be TRYING to find scum; you take whoever seems the most suspicious in your mind and put them in the front of your scum-list. I'm intrigued by EM's post you reference - just one example of him supporting D1 lynch in other games but not in this one. It is indeed a stance change this time around; what it MEANS obviously only EM knows. He could be scum playing it safe, or a cop KNOWING he has an investigative role and wanting time to use it. It doesn't make me suspect him less, but I'm focusing on Lyner for being the 6th vote more than EM on the 5th vote. Spy Op? Really now. Vote Nick The Great Sound like treachery to me. I don't trust you guys. bruh. Spy Op? for real, obviously a joke lmao. OMGUS Vote: Robert2424 ... I'm not even sure what to say about this. Given that intra-alliance spying is a warnable offense in CN, it seems pretty obvious Nick was joking; though due to Nick's new-ish status I admittedly had a WTF moment where I actually wondered if he HAD done it. Robert's vote response and Nick's subsequent OMGUS vote are Day 1 silliness, but when the day nearly ended once already I'm done with the sillies for now. Except for this final one to demonstrate the transition: http://www.roflcat.com/images/cats/270911970_db35fdd4ca.jpg So the mod just clarified the rules for this game. I'll wrap this up by following my own analysis above and moving my vote accordingly. Unvote Vote: Lyner Because he placed the 6th vote on the No-lynch wagon that very nearly ended the day. Okay, that's enough writing for me for now. Time for some New years' lunch -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
I lost my longer post when clicking back to get another multiquote; serves me right I guess. You're spared one of my longer walls of text by virtue of my not having time to retype it all - new years plans mean I'm about to be out for the night. Short version: It's worrisome to me that we reached L-1 barely 12 hours into Day 1. I understand this is Kevin's game and he has a history of pushing Day 1 No-Lynch, but that's no reason to end Day 1 so fast - has everyone even posted yet? No question that losing a townie role on day 1 hurts, but silence only serves the scum by letting them lurk. Without giving people a chance to talk, any town roles have no context to choose whom to investigate or defend, assuming such roles are in the game at all... Kevin certainly gave us a laundry list of possibilities. No-lynch is about the safest vote a scum can make because it doesn't make them oppose anyone, and we just had a six votes go that way. Because of the above, I appreciate d3mon's unvoting to stop the day from ending too fast. I'll have more time to come back and post tomorrow; might get to skim the thread on my phone later, but don't count on it! -Preston

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Actually can we get a votecount to go with the new page? I'd like to capture where everyone is at this point. The first few no-lynch votes are one thing; each vote that takes it closer to ending day 1 before an actual day has passed makes me wonder about those jumping on the wagon. -Preston

And now we're at a 6-person no lynch wagon, not even 24 hours into the day. O.o

[KH-06] The Battle of the Five Armies Mafia - Town Wins
Just got home after a long drive yesterday, and find that the game has already started! That was fast let's see where we've gone so far... Lol. This is worthy of a day 1 vote alright; nice movie quote for ya! This could very quickly degenerate into quote-slinging though if we're not careful... and I gotta say, Thorin, there's a LOT of quotes for you I dont fully agree with this, even after the debacle of last game - we need some information going into day 2 beyond waiting for night role info, otherwise night 1 is a freebie for the scum. Last game Rafay was a clear day 1 lynch choice by his suspicious activity and he proved to be town anyway... I'd probably vote the same way again if someone acts like he did, but I'll take my lesson that I need to be a bit less aggressive for now. Rofl. I at first read my name and thought I was the Iron Hills dwarf... then I looked again and I'm Bain, not Dain.... yeah. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/lotr/images/2/20/Bain.jpg FML Does this mean that I should keep calling out "Da!" all the time in my posts? ... Huh. So now we've got a no-lynch bandwagon... four votes, THAT fast? I want to see where this goes too, now - but more from the perspective at wondering about everyone jumping on it. And since this bandwagon has caught my attention and it's the tradition to sling votes around in your first post or so: Vote: Rafay ... wow. That's some serious deja vu there... -Preston

Helped you a lot that the doc and cop died early! But you did a good job of seeming town... I was a bit too active myself that game. May have to try to tone it down a bit...

Just means no one will suspect you if you are?

Heh, kaz didn't read as scum to me... But then he was scum hunting with the rest of us, without their knowledge. Well played. Seeing Kevin was actually town in the end made me feel better about my last minute backing off on day 2, but ugh... I knew I was likely going to die that night. And I'd have sworn there would be more mafia in a game this big! GG.

Perhaps not; d3mon has not posted the end of the day yet. Interesting you jumped on as you did... we've gone from 4 on kevin, to 4 on shepard. I don't see d3mon reading the thread anymore either... we'll see the answer of it soon enough. I frankly expect a townie flip, since he was inactive... but let's see. Maybe he was inactive scum... can hope, I suppose. -Preston

It's midnight. I see d3mon reading the thread, probably about to post. I also see iSocialism; post quickly if you're going to.

And one more, because I seriously think I'm up for the chop tonight - Kevin, the inactive is gone. No more excuses for not voting for people you actually *suspect*, as opposed to those who simply have low post counts.

Also - seriously, PLEASE be more active tomorrow people! The silence earlier this day when the war started made me think the game was going to be cancelled. I see a lot of you on IRC or otherwise active on the forums; it doesnt take that long to check in and catch up if you do it a bit at a time. -Preston
