The Mafia Choose Weird Places to Invade - #1

 

The IRONTown Baths was quite a popular attraction for families and the rest of the inhabitants of the town to relax in the pool or to get some exercise in. Right now, however, it was fairly quiet. The pool had some die-hard swimmers and stubborn children left in, but there were plenty of staff around too.

That was the time Godfather Tony chose to invade. Shortly after the first shots were fired, sirens went off, and shutters fell, cutting off the pool from the outside world.

 

Now, the innocent people of IRONTown had to find out who the mafia were, and make sure they didn't live to invade somewhere else slightly strange......

That's too bad, because if you lynch me and then EM and we both happen to turn out townies, it's practically game over. Unfortunately that will likely be the case.

To cause doubt.

To lend credibility to EM's roleclaim.

To lynch one another in hopes that the sole remaining mafia survives to the endgame because they "lynched mafia".

If not EM, then possibly Kazio and one of the "inactives"? I'm still suspicious of EM, I'm keeping my vote on him for now.

I don't believe Mole would give out any false roles and think ccabal86 is fabricating his story. He's been inconsistent with his stories and I still believe what I said earlier about him being scum as well. Add it all up and I feel even more confident lynching ccabal86 next.

 

CD, I would encourage you to change your vote to ccabal86. I've been spot on this entire game with my theories and I have a good feeling about our next scum target as well.

 

 

Also if you look at who voted for Kasabian, both I and ccabal86 voted for him. I doubt both remaining scum would both vote for their mafia partner. My bet is that one did and one didn't with ccabal86 as the one that did. Let's lynch him 1st and then worry about the other scum tomorrow.

We have 8 alive with most likely 2 mafia and 6 townies.

If he is scum and you are townie...it makes absolutely no sense for ccabal to roleclaim at all.

You had 3 votes already on you with most likely 2 on it's way.

Q: Why on earth would scum want to attract attention to save a townie.

The possible explanation is that he is townie as he claims or both of you are scum.

Actually I've been as consistent as possible in my situation. No lynching on Day 1. Then look at my posts from D2: I'm keeping a low profile, not making accusations. Totally in line with a percieved investigative role.

 

One more thing for CD to consider: You say it's "convenient" to pick a role from mafiascum to defend myself. Well, "Curious Child" is not even on their role list...

@townies - Is there any plain vanilla townies? If so...please come forward. This will help the town determine if everyone has an ability or not. And we would know if it is plausible for Preston and EM to have negative roles.

Ccabal, I'm going to ask you to do what CD did and paraphrase Mole's role PM to you for us all to see. Use synonyms and slightly different grammar to avoid it being a direct quote so you don't get modkilled.

I would also suggest PMing mole to see if your role really is what you THINK it is because the very premise of your claim - that you're active every night - is being challenged. We need to get this resolved, and if your action is either contingent on being targetted or requires a night PM to make you follow someone then you need to know that.

 

Regarding TED's plain-vanilla claim... very curious. While I initially disbelieve this, I will also say that if we have only ONE vanilla townie then that is still consistent with everyone having a different role - just one person's role is no role similar to how Kasabian was a standard goon with no role. No matter how you cut it, we apparently have more one-shot roles than would be normal for a game of this size.

 

Absent other information, we may be forced to vote EM. As I stated, if he's truthful we have only lost a passive annoyance of a role that shouldnt be relevant anymore - and ironically, if he's lynched and proves genuinely insomniac that would actually back up my statement about negative roles being real. However if he's town that also brings us to lynch-or-lose tomorrow barring some sort of night save - which appears increasingly unlikely. We need to find a scum to give us more breathing room.

 

I would still recommend letting this day draw out further though - both to get inactives talking/voting (good idea on the prod) and to see what other surprises come out.

The more I think about it the more I think that ccabal may not be scum because of him coming out and role claiming the way he did. Why would he do that unless he really thought CD would back him up.

I think EM is correct in that it would reveal a townie whose power has already been used - most likely the one-shot "friendly neighbor", UNLESS its a mafia role. This would almost make person x SAFER, because mafia wouldnt target them - no role to be had. However it would also increase mafia's chance of finding a role tonight among those who remain. The only question at this point is if this is a secondary concern - because we're at the stage where we need to bring out all the information we can and see who doesnt stand up to scrutiny.

does your role help the town at all, or what? ... What exactly do you mean by 'weak'?

 

It doesn't let me identify scum so I consider it weak. I suppose if it confuses other townies then it could be negative.

 

I don't think it's unreasonable that there are multiple similar roles. My guess is that another security guard will come "on shift" and eventually will get alot of information revealed but we won't really know if we can trust it.

I would not have been able to determine that you would be townie then.

It was something Player X did to inform me he was townie.

Unless Player X is really mafia slipping false info (as Preston mentioned before).

But I doubt that.

Anyway I am more inclined to believe that EM is mafia.

As CD have explained before, it was weird that ccabal would just roleclaim but

regardless if he's scum or not, you're still more likely to scum.

@Kaziocore - I did not receive a pm from Player X. In the same post that I got listing the 3 people (Kasabian, EM, Player X) that moved...it also said that I was now cognizant that Player X is not mafia. (changed the wording and used synonyms to avoid modkill).

Will post a paraphrasing soon, but mole needs to re-send it to me, I deleted it by accident when I was clreaning my inbox. I'm pretty sure I understood it correctly though.

A known townie means the odds of picking a scum to lynch go up; the scum want to night-kill the known townies so we can accidentally lynch more townies during the day.

We should be able to figure it out easily enough. Player X should be one of the following people:

 

1. Kaziocore

2. AKCPLUTO

3. Preston

4. KevinH

 

Everybody else is either dead or has said things which make it pretty obvious they're not Player X.

 

I've included people who have mused about the identity of Player X, but did not explicitly deny being Player X or were not specifically excluded by CD.

Valid point if they lynch a "known" townie. However they also might NOT target Player X since odds are high their role (mod-confirmation of towniness) was one-shot and is no longer valid.

 

I must note that it is possible that 'player x' was a mafia fake in some form - and further that the whole thing by CD may be fabricated with either a genuine scum sacrifice or a mafia ability to fake a postmortem proving his towniness. I don't believe this is terribly LIKELY - if CD actually is scum then he has pulled off an amazing fake - but I have to note that given how many roles we apparently have, one of the three scum having no ability means they had only two roles to respond with. In either case, these are also possibilities that should be remembered.

 

Pros for Identifying Player X:

1. Confirmed townie for use in future decisions; good vote and narrows field for suspecting scum

2. Player X can describe their ability

 

Cons for Identifying Player X:

1. Narrows field for scum targetting any remaining townie power roles

2. Scum might choose to kill the confirmed townie.

 

If we end up identifying player X, I would prefer they identify themselves - they used an ability and therefore know who they are - and then be confirmed by CD.

I am not player X. I claimed a negative role that would not show up at night/appear as movement to CD. CD's PlayerX both showed up as moving and used their ability to mod-confirm to CD in some form they are town.
